excuse me if this is in the wrong section i know a lot of you are devoted to topics that are serius but I somehow feel that this belongs in the same area....
how many of u have seen the david bowie movie Labyrinth from the 80's? Its a classic and to me it just reinforces the idea that all u need is belief and a good heart to get to the most magical places... this movie and the music from it are very inspiring to me. maybe I'm way off base but it just feels like its made of the same stuff as our paranormal monsters... ghosts... gnomes... etc...

I watched it not too long ago with my kids. They loved it, as I myself still do also. Takes me back to when I was a kid, and first developed a crush on Jennifer Connolly. grin2.gif

The movie itself was pretty good, but some of those outfits hugged Bowie a bit too closely for my taste original.gif

Hehe, that codpiece was definately not right! lol. That is one of my all time favourite kiddie films but even as a kid you're thinking ew! Jim Henson was a brilliant man being able to imagine all those creatures and then bring them to life the way he could, sad he went before his time. I loved the Dark Crystal too and still have them both on video - I can't believe I could watch that one as a kid, those skeksis were pretty scary - note to self must update to dvds. That brings back memories, *sigh* happy times.

I somehow missed this movie when I was growing up and I have just ordered it from Amazon to make up for it.

I love the Dark Crystal, so I should love Labyrinth!

yeah you should really enjoy it. i miss the days when not every movie was CGI. I never watched it either when i was young but my girlfriend loved it and i reluctantly agreed to watch it. turns out it was right down my alley. when u watch the little goblin with the spiked helmet he's awesome and is my fav. he looks JUST like my girlfriends dog.

I miss the days when puppets and men in costumes were acceptable too.

thanks for reminding me of that movie. It was one of my favorites as a kid. I remember the part with the white owl in the tree, that was my favorite part for some reason, must have been the music, I loved the music. I will have to watch it with my kids and see what they think.

"Through dangers untold & hardships un-numbered, I have fought my way here to the castle beyond the goblin city to take back the child you have stolen. For my will is as strong as yours & my kingdom is as great... you have no power over me"

" You remind me of the babe... what babe... babe with the power... what power?... power of voodoo... who do... you do... do what?... remind me of the babe"

I absolutely love this movie. It's one of my favorites specially the masquerade ball scene.
