So, This is my first topic that i've made on here. (hello!)

I've always been really drawn to the beach and the sea in general, even as a tiny child. And for the past couple of years, I think i've been sensing bits of a past life. I have dreams of places that are so vivid and familiar, i'm sure I must have been there. In one of my dreams, i was in a little rowing boat, sailing down a river, with steep, grassy banks on either side and then, for some reason it capsized and i had to swim for shore. When i got to the shore and climbed up the bank, i lifted my head up and there were really gnarled, overgrown peach trees, everywhere in this courtyard, growing out of the brick work. & Then, when i pushed my way through the branches, i came to a house that had been almost split in half, like a cross section, the whole front walls of the house had fallen down and plants were growing in the rooms. Then i saw a small girl with a bonnet on riding on a rocking horse in the kitchen.
It was just so vivid and upsetting.

And last year I went on a sailing excursion on a tall ship (ie. pirate ship) & felt so at home, i didn't want to leave. I wasn't sea sick at all and was running around the ship, barefoot and didn't fall over or wobble or anything. It was like i knew what i was doing & had sailed a million times before.
& one more thing. When i was little, i used to cry and say i 'want to go home', even if i was already at home. I feel really strongly that i don't belong in this era and feel so attatched the ships and the sea (in around 1800's).

So, anyway, i just wanted some peoples opinions on past lives etc'.

I'm a vivid believer in past lives, and though there is no proof--and, only belief--to support claims like that, but there's not any hard core way to prove you actually "lived before". There was one case I remember, though it's too bad I don't remember the man's name, where there were many tests conducted to decide whether he was living a second life or not. He had a lot of dreams, had a lot of visions, and knew certain things about someone he had never met. When he started doing research, it turned out that he had known those things all along, so he went to a hypnotist and certain others to find repressed memories. Those same things were shared by the man he was claiming to be in a journal that he'd never seen. If any of that makes sense, I bet it was pretty confusing. D:

Going on my own opinions, I would say that there is a slight possibility you had a past life that was connected to the ocean in some way. It's hard to explain those unexpected urgings that all of us feel (I'm very connected to cats, and everyone I meet--some I may have only met once--say I have many mannerisms similar to a cat), and if there's a universal answer, it's past lives. I don't know if I had a past life as a cat or not, but I am very much like one in personality, and tend to bond with them more closely than people. So, who knows. Maybe I'm just a cat person, or maybe I lived as a cat once, there are many things to consider.

The first dream you explain reminds me very much of a Georgia plantation, and that particular era. I don't have much advice, other than try asking for other dreams to help you find that answer. I always find it weird when we have those unexpected dreams, and there really has to be a reason for it somewhere. Whether you believe it's the unconscious revealing your secrets, or the chocolate cake you ate before bed, no one can really tell you to believe otherwise until there is hardcore, solid proof to say that past lives do not exist.

Thanks for the reply.
I see exactly where you're coming from. It's weird that you mentioned a plantation, because funnily enough, when i've attempted some 'spells' to see my past life in the mirror, quite often I see a black man's face. (I'm white).
Bizzare.
I'm definately going to try and promote myself to have more of these dreams. But I haven't had one in ages. My Mum, my aunty & my grandad all have some sort of psychic ability and I think i'm just starting to develop my own.

thanks. x

Actually, when you first described that dream I immediately imaged it was an African American in the boat, as if it'd been someone who'd escaped from slavery. I didn't think I'd say that first, because it may have been taken in an offensive way, but that is what the first thought was.

You're lucky that you have a family history of special abilities, when I have dreams or notice things that don't make sense, I don't have anyone to talk about it with other than internet friends.

Get some past life regression cd's Dick Sutphen makes some real good ones.

Hmm. I think some research is in order. hehehe.
I'm definately interested in Regression, but I think if i did it, i'd go to a therapist/psychic. Rather that DIY (Cause i've heard it dangerous).

I wouldn't spend money on a CD if there's no one to help me with it, especially if I'm a first-timer. I'd say having a professional hypnotist or therapist (be weary of psychics, of course, especially ones that charge money for services) to help with regression would be a big plus.

When you have a dream you should try writing it down so that mabey you could make some connections. I don't know if it will help or not but your mind could be trying to tell you something.

I believe more and more in reincarnation/past lives every day.

I'm not sure if I believe in the "regressions" that are done by therapists/hypnotists though.

i remember seeing a story abput past lives on this show called beyond belief fact or fiction this guys was chrostriphobic [i think thats how u spell it] and he was always afraid of small spaces and he kept drawing this house in a street so anyways hes walking one day where he sees the house he draws and he goes in side and immediatly starts digging up the floor and he finds a skeleton in a hole it seems that the person got stuck in the hole and died after that he wasnt afraid of small spaces anymore so it seems he lived his past life as that person who died in that hole ohmy.gif
