UFOs in the NEWS
July 27, 2002
A man living near Washington, D.C., claimed he saw two Air Force F-16 jets in the sky over his house chasing a light blue sphere travelling at a phenomenal rate of speed. According to the Washington Post, military officials in Washington confirmed that two jets from Andrews Air Force Base were scrambled at 1:00 a.m. on July 26, after radar detected an unknown aircraft in the area, but denied the jets were chasing a UFO.

A military official, speaking to the Post on condition of anonymity, stated that after the F-16s took off from Andrews, the unidentified aircraft's blip faded from the radar screens. "There are any number of scenarios, but we don't know what it was," said a military spokesman. The pilots reported seeing nothing out of the ordinary.

The witness on the ground, however, stood by his story, insisting that he saw a UFO. "It looked like a shooting star with no trailing mist," he said. "I've never seen anything like it."

" but denied the jets were chasing a UFO."
So they were just heading in the same direction then?

The light blue sphere is an afterimage of the sun, and the guy saw it "being chased" because his eyes were watching the jets. Problem solved thumbsup.gif

An after-image of the sun wouldn't appear on radar. We've got a visual sighting with radar confirmation. Sounds like a U.F.O. to me.
