I just read on a costume website in a little "Did you know?" box that there has been a string of murders on this road...I even think it said Chainsaw murders. Does anyone know about this?

I'm not sure where the TCM was supposed to take place, I think that was based off Ed Gein though...There are rumors though that it's not ONLY based off Ed Gein... I thought this was really weird when i read it, It said something like 33 murders have been reported in that area.

This is pretty weird, I kind of hope it's true in a bizarre way...An urban legend would finally be real.
HollyDolly
rolleyes.gif never heard of this,and i have lived here 37 years. The Texas Chain Saw Massacre was just a movie based on Ed Gein as far as I know.
There hasn't been any serial killers lurking around the I-35 North corrider from San Antonio to Austin.If there had,it would have been all over the news here. What is the costume website,so I can check it out?

..then if you type in I-35 Texas Murders into the yahoo search engine a LOT of murders and references to murders on and near this road come up. Pretty weird.

Whoa great find!
Scary For Kids
Never heard of this but I know there was a real serial killer called the "I-45 Killer" and he killed victims on that road - The I-45. Ann Rule wrote a true crime book about it (also called The I-45 Killer").

Creepy.It actually seems possible.I mean,if you were a psychopathic serial killer,and you saw TMC,wouldn't you wanna follow in LC's foot-steps???He'd be like a role model for you,a hero.Doesn't seem to far-fetched that someone would copy him.

Some of them are on news websites, others are on blogs....why don't you just look for yourself?

Texan here too and there have been 2 serial killers along I-35. There have been at least one more that passed through but I cannot find the source but I saw him on Tru Tv or something like that. I was working at night near the tracks when the Railroad Killer was serial killing. Kept on thinking what if I run into him. I remember I saw a guy running to get on the tracks, he was running to get on the train for a little distance, then he finally made it. It was not him of course I doubt it I was cheering for whoever it was to get on the train, some poor transient of course. Then I saw a guy running down he street with a suitcase in his hand. A weird night but I have had stranger.

Oh, I'm sure that put her mind at ease...
WalkingDude20
Wow, I didn't think this was gonna actually turn out to be real...
My Dad used to tell me stories that his friend worked for a Sheriff's department and an APB came out that basically said look out for two serial killers from Texas that were believed to be headed towards our area. Crazy stuff....
I'm glad this one turned out to be semi-real...I guess it's technically not and urban legend then.

Does anyone have any statistics to back up this Urban Legend?

Interestingly, the I35 is sometimes referred to as God's Highway, due to this line from Isiah 35 (hence I35):

8: And a highway will be there;
it will be called the Way of Holiness.
The unclean will not journey on it;
it will be for those who walk in that Way;
wicked fools will not go about on it.

It is also the evil New World Order 'NAFTA Superhighway' I am not happy about that...
