about 3 months ago i was at my friends house and we were out the back in his canal and we saw something leap out of a tree into the tunnel it was a big fury thing it scared us to bits and for 3 months we have been looking for this thing at night and day we have seen glowing eyes looking at us we were freaked and last night and tonight we were flashing a torch around when we saw it looking at us we have herd noises we went under the tunnel for a look and herd noises that freaked us out so we ran and then went back in for a better look and herd wierd breathing noises that sound likes a beast so we bailed out of the canal tunnel we have a slight description - Hooves/big fury body and a face that kinda looks like a dog and big paws if annyone can help us add to this please do so we wanna find out what we are dealing with

it had hooves ? do you mean hooves like a horse ?
do you know how tall it is ?
also it would help if you would specify where you live, not specifically but a state and town would help.

well just the state to run wild life and animal reports ...kinda obsessed with dog man so had nerdy equitment instulled.

shes right you should take some pictures with a camera in the 'tunnel' or someplace you've seen it or beleive it to be you never know what you could uncover.
also it would help if you got some audio[using a tape recorder], and maybe some video, you could send it to a university or a bioligist and they might be able to tell you if its a know animal or not.

I used to draw bunyips before having any real idea of how they were supposed to look, and I made them look just like that but with flippers instead-- freaky, that. Bunyips have such a nice name though. It's all cute and fuzzy and begging for cuddles.

Maybe it came from a lake near a nuclear power plant. LOL

I have no idea of the size or anything, if you are within the States and the southern States there is a very good possibility of that which you are describing and your description is very vague I would think of it as a possibility of it being a razorback, Javelina also called a Wild Boar, they can climb trees depending upon the tree limbs and they have very sharp Tusk and are to be considered dangerous, they have a range throughout the world, northern Australia and Europe, all throughout Russia and are in the UK, or where I am not sure if they still are, but anyways if that is a boar, stay clear of it, not an animal to be cornering and putting into a defensive situation…It may not be a Wild Boar but from what you have describe vaguely I am say it is a high probability, it is a movie I know, but if you want a viewing of what they are cababile of and how they can mess a Dog, or person up, you can watch the Old Disny movie Old, Yeller, but in real Life they are way more beastly and especaly when cornered as those tusks are razor sharp and they use them very well...Stay away from it...…

I'd imagine in a tunnel, freaked out and running away, you'd hardly have time to notice that it had paws AND hooves. And of course, tunnels aren't exactly bright. You'd be surprised how your mind can fill in the gaps left by missing information when things are translated from your working to long-term memory, too.

Yea by the description it would seem to be some kind of boar, or horse. It depends on where the sighting occurred.

ok everyone i live in wiely park nsw australia and its a canal out the back of my place and yes a bunyip sounds resonable but this thing had hoves like a horse but by the same token it had the body of a big dog me and my mate waited out the back of my house and when we herd some grunting noises we went to the door of the cnal and i climbed a tree to see over and in the canal it self i saw a massive black figure walking in my direction so i freaked out and ran and a little while after i herd some more noises and turned on my torch and it looked almost like a big dog, head like a dog body like one it was all brown and again was comeing my way my mate saw it to and i swear e wouldant talk for almost half an hour! im really worried and if anyone lives in my area or near i need some help!!!!

Seriously, shadyfeature; I am not a skeptic about most things. I will believe almost anything, But only under some conditions:
-THERE HAS TO BE AT LEAST A LITTLE PROOF. You failed to provide any, and you made the description really vague.
-IT IS NOT THE STEREOTYPICAL CRYPTID SIGHTING. Yours, frankly, is. The physical description sounds suspiciously like the Jersy Devil, and the "Jumped out in front of you, and you ran" part is in about every single fave sighting.
-THE PERSON DOESN'T LOOK LIKE A 10-YEAR-OLD. Grammar. Grammar, grammar, grammar. And spelling. As well as failing to meet the last catagory, the story sounds like a monster story some kid would write for his grade three writing assignment.
