Just wondering if anyone has read Stephen Kings Dark Tower and what they think of it or if you even like stephen king. SK is one of my favorite authors ive read the books several times. Cant wait for movie or mini series J.J. Abrams is suppose to be working on it. Its a great series my friend was going to start reading them but i told her to hold off till she read the other books that have a connection with the dark tower books like The Eyes of the Dragon The Stand Salem's Lot and others before reading dark tower. If you love reading then this is a great read.

I agree with you completely, the dark tower novels is one of my favourite series although I'm not sure what to make of the ending

Maybe I should read the last book again... happy.gif

I absalutly love the series and can't wait for them to make the movie/movies. It would be nice to see them make a movie on the same scale as lord of the rings.
wolfknight

King said that there could just be no other ending for him. I was disappointed as well at first but after gnawing over it, it's quite genius after a few more rereads.

I hope they never make a movie series or mini tv series out of the collection. It would be a butchering beyond reason just by the shear detail, length and time it took to write them all.

I loved the LOTR's movies to death but if you look at the books, they're no were as long as the Dark Tower is.

I wouldnt want them to make a movie out of it. I mean look at what they did to Desperation....that movie really sucked while the book was good.

Oh Im a big fan of King amongst other horror writers but mainly him.
Someone was just telling me about "dark tower". Movie or mini series would
be awesome as well. thumbsup.gif

Cradle of Fish
The first one intriuged me enough to make me pick up the second one there, and I read most of the Drawing of the Three in one sitting. Definitely an epic series.

I loved it.
I always thought a Dark Tower series on HBO spread over 3 or 4 seasons would be great way to bring it too life.

If HBO would do that, I would probably run laps around my town in excitement. laugh.gif I remember first time reading through the Wizard and the Glass (best one in the series I think) and it's just so full of detail about Roland and the journey ahead it's unbelievable to take in. That alone could be at least a good half a season or so of 1 hour shows.

I think what made it also so good to read is that King didn't dress it up like Roland was a white knight running through the battlefield killing a thousand guys without breaking a sweat or getting a scratch on him. It was brutal and in your face of how difficult it was and the struggles they faced.
