I would like to know what dreams you guys have ever had about killing.
Have you ever killed anyone in your dreams, and if so what was the dream and who was it that you killed?
How did it feel during the dream and how did you feel when you woke up?
If it's a dream you have often, how often do you have it.
And if not, how many different dreams have you had about killing someone, are they different people or the same all the time?
You don't have to exactly answer in that order, just act as if you're recalling the dream in a dream journal or just explain in detail.
I'm not going to give any insight as to what your dream means, this is just something I am curious about.
Thanks in advance to those who reply.

Good question. In my waking moments I have actually thought that some certain people deserved to die. In my mind, I concluded that it would be "justifiable homicide." But I never even had a dream where I did it. Guess it's just strong Catholic upbringing and the particular commandment: Thou Shalt Not Murder (whether spirit or body).
1st Edit: But I laugh at the citation from "Not the Bible" published by National Lampoon. I first read this hilarious parody when I was 18. Here's the quote: Guns don't kill people; God kills people...

I can't remember specifics but I have definitely had dreams where I have been attacked by someone and it is a 'me or them' scenario.
Now if you just get rid of the subtitle we could get some really
interesting answers to this question. *rubs hands ghoulishly*

I think you are a stellar individual.
I'm just bummed out that Dubya, through the instigation of this senseless war, is breeding hatred for America among Iraqi youth. Granted Saddam was no saint, but he kept law and order. I'm not sure whether Iraq will ever achieve true democracy under American supervision. Before Iraq, America failed in grand style in Iran, trying to maintain a client state against the will of the masses.
But with regard to you... I applaud your heroism, and your honesty. In my youth, I had wanted to be a hero, too. Senator Bradley (NJ) even invited me to attend the naval academy. I didn't go. I went to another prestigious Mid-Atlantic University instead. But I wanted to be a hero. I wanted to drive ships and manage the process of defending America from danger, while putting myself, and others into harms way. Now, the best I can do is post my opinions on the web... You, though, succeeded. You actually fought and actively sought to preserve peace and freedom. God bless you! And I sincerely hope you will overcome the fear and the hate. It is war, after all.

I truly appreciate the kind words. To be honest, my life has been that of seclusion since I have been out of the service. I dealt greatly with depression, PTSD, all my relationships suffered due to it. I am finally getting my life in order and back on track. I have spent more time in the VA hospital talking to behavorial specialists than I have working or in school.
However, it helps being around family finally. I am the best I have been since 2004 actually. Thank you again for your kind words.

I'm sure you can download it from one of the torrent sites. It's from WWI written by a German (probably Alsacian German because his name is French) Erich Maria Remarque, and he gets into the gritty detail of war - the humanity, the emotions, and the aftermath. It might be good for you to read it.
Good luck to you. From your honesty, I'm hopeful that you will do well in whatever you choose. Family is good. They'll give you the support you need to re-adjust to American life. Hell, just think about WWII veterans and what they had to do after the war. Your duty now is to take care of yourself, your family, and to make America a better place.
Good luck. God bless!

I'm not doubting your word, but I find it incomprehensible that someone's never killed anyone in a dream. I kill hordes of people in my dreams every night. I've always considered it therapeutic - if I get the satisfaction of killing someone in a dream, it's easier to deal with them in reality (I'm fair about it though, people kill me a lot in my dreams too)
It reminds of a friend of mine. He always had anger issues, so for a job assignment, they sent him to a shrink to get cleared before starting the job. She asked him if he'd ever thought about killing anyone, and he told her, "Sure". She was like, "Yeah, we all have had thoughts like that. What kept you from actually doing it?" to which he replied, "It's illegal and I don't want to go to prison."
She was shocked. She said, "You honestly mean to tell me that if it weren't illegal to kill people you would do it?". He said, "Sure, wouldn't you?"
Bottom line: He's now spending $150 a month extra for medication for the rest of his life.
I've told him what an idiot he was not to tell her what she wanted to hear to give him a clean report, but thanks to the miracle of modern pharmaceuticals, my calling him an idiot doesn't bother him at all...

I've killed or tried to kill many in my dreams over the years. I don't really have nightmares so they were hate induced dream killings, and the people tend to deserve it. The murders feel good in the dreams, but I don't feel about them when I wake up. Some people have been the "victim" (yeah right

) more than once, and I can't remember how many people I have dreamed about. I also have the waking "justifiable homicide" thoughts.

I killed a younger boy in my dreams once. I don't know why I did it, but I do remember he was around 7 or 8 years old. I also remember that I was scared and very guilty in my dream. I was going to confess my crime to a friend but decided against it for fear of being turned in.

Me, too. When I was going through all the court battle with my ex for custody of my daughter, I was constantly being chased in my dreams. In one, they finally cornered me, and I held out my one hand and shot them with white fire, turning them basically into ash. I guess I was reading too much Robert Jordan at the time, LOL. that is the only time I have killed anyone in my dreams. It was freaky, yet empowering at the same time.

I've only killed one person in my dreams from what I can remember. It was just a dream person - not anyone I know. I suppose it was pre-meditated self defense. I attacked him before he could attack me kind of thing. I disembowled him with a knife.
My Mom had a very vivid dream of killing me when I was around 10 years old. Also with a knife.

Not really.. but Ive woken up plenty of times just before Ive hit the bottom of a slippery slide. Still scares me.
I was petrified of Werewolves as a kids, thanx to The American Werewolf in London, and Thriller... Yeah, yeah dont laugh.
But there was this one time when It was raining and dark . I found myself in a drain, all muddy and trapped. I looked down in to a tunnel and these great big eyes.. huge they were.. looking back at me. I scrambled to get out.. the beast jump for me and I woke up.
What I wouldnt do to go back to that dream and finish the job on that scary thang.

Robert Jordan rocks lol I wish I could dream about full scale Wheel of Time settings that would be awesome.
It is very empowering definitely though I have to agree. I maybe could have ran away in many of my dreams because I was never cornered. I remembered one dream where I was walking down the street and these persons were attempting to intimidate me. I walked up to the leader and hugged him and when I was that close I knifed him repeatedly but concealed so the others who were with him did not see. I sort of kept him close and dragged him to a field off the street and let him fall.
In other dreams I did not wake up right away and I was having to hide from the police and stuff oh noes!!!

Now that shes awake and well enough, she finds she cant sleep at night due to fear. She still has the dreams today and still feels the pain of the scratches on her back by the crow in her dreams.

When I first saw the topic title, I thought "of course", but now, when I think of it... I'm not so sure... I've seen dead bodies in a dream... flesh, meat... a dead man that I have to get rid of or hide... I have watched people die and being tortured, but by someone else, not me. I was watching and usually disgusted by what I see, but STILL WATCHING. And I must admit these are, in a way, good dreams. Sometimes it feels like...I'm directing the dream, in which I make people suffer, and it is made by ME, but I kinda leave myself innocent, by doing it by another person's hands and "acting" that it disgusts me. Oh...I don't even know what I'm trying to say.
I remember, though, a few dreams where I was beating a person, but he just laughed at me. Another time, I was stabbing someone with a razor, but he just laughed and didn't die, I felt so hopeless.
By the way, it's NEVER people I know.

always brutish melee kills
quick effecient single stroke violence
guns are useless against nightmares.
you gotta take off their heads with a sword or pull them apart barehanded.
the act is an act of conquest and the closer in the greater the defiance of that fear.
although your shadow is not as merciful. he is you. the primal you and your primal fear. you cant run. his gaze itself consumes you with darkness of fear, rage and hatred.
scarier still is when you realize hes you everything you hide or deny.

1. Have you ever killed anyone in your dreams, and if so what was the dream and who was it that you killed?
I've had loads. I'm usually either a human or a kind of dragon-thing, more often the latter. I've "killed" humans, cats, and an odd assortment of other animals and weird creatures that don['t exist. I've never killed a woman though, and it's usually adult male humans or sentient beings that are kind of along that line. When I'm a human, I use knives or my nails to carve things up, and as a dragonthing it's mostly jaws.
2. How did it feel during the dream and how did you feel when you woke up?
In all the dreams I felt nothing emotionally. No guilt, no satisfaction. In some cases, the things were in the way, in the others it just had to be done, whether it was a "job", self-defense, food (or I presume, as I eat the thing after), or some kind of fight.
3. If it's a dream you have often, how often do you have it.
I suppose it happens about once a month.
4. And if not, how many different dreams have you had about killing someone, are they different people or the same all the time?
See the first question.

I've seen people die in my dream whether a mother and child run into a building for protection and the building blowing up just after they go in, a dream girl i fell in love with dieing in front of my eyes, hearing about friends and family being killed in a varity of circumstances, I have fought people etc, but I dont think i'll full on killed anybody, I think its because I still have a sense or moral thinking and control in there somewhere.

well i have a pretty intense dream. i dreamed that i killed my dad, im only 14 years old so its always weird. it was at night time and my dad was sitting on a step in the pool. i went up behind him a i put a plastic bag over his head, i remember crying, while i was doing it. i woke up and i was so glad it was a dream, and i have the same dream every month or so. i can never remember why i kill him though.

I haven't killed someone in my dreams. Although I've been murdered more times than I can count. Disturbing part is, I don't wake up after I'm "dead".
