There's nothing better than having a great RPG on the go which you can play when you ain't got anything to do. Right now I'm looking for one.

In the past I've made my way through:-
FFVII, FFVIII, FFIX, FFX, FFXII, Star Ocean 2, Xenogears, Suikoden I, Suikoden IV etc

I'd be looking for great RPGs along these lines, preferably for the PS2 or Wii, but if you can recommend any good ones for X-Box360 or PS3 then that's cool cause I'll eventually get one of those consoles.

So, Please, help me waste those boring hours wink2.gif
Thunderbolt
well does it have to be for those cause i hav a great one for GBA Fire Emblem

A game on kongregate.com called "caravaneer" its AWESOME>
Bella-Angelique
The original Fatal Frame.
They never really topped it with a follow up like it.
InHuman
GLADIUS for all last gen consoles (best on GC and Xbox)..
Promethius
Fallout 2 is a fun and VERY re-playable RPG, I'ts kept me occupied for years. You can only get it on PC though, but it's worth it... thumbsup.gif

Cheers for all these suggestions guys

I've honestly not heard of any of these titles (except Fire Emblem)
I'll start looking into it
Life is hectic and there ain't much time for RPGs these days - so if I'm gonna play one, I really want to play a classic wink2.gif

Thanks again wink2.gif

You absolutely must play these two RPG's Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic (1 not 2) on xbox or pc, and Mass Effect on 360. Both have such good storylines you will forget you are playing a game, they are more like movies. Pure genius.

euthanasia
perfect world is a good mmorpg...not too addictive
realmcutter
one of the best rpgs i've played is "legend of dragoon", its an old PS1game, but it was just that awesome laugh.gif
euthanasia
never played that one ^ or even heard of it for that matter
realmcutter
well, its an old, 4-disk, game (with decent gameplay graphics, and awesome cinema especially for a ps1 game) with a great storyline. Though it was long and had alot of bonuses and side stuff. But recent games, one of my favorite rpgs is pikmin 2, just gotta love those pikmin. yes.gif wub.gif
Mandalore23
I still like KotOR and KotOR II, they're both pretty good RPG's. IMHO
Bella-Angelique
Hopefully the shooter surge has ended and storyline will take top place, even above graphics now in future games for awhile at least.

Hopefully. But Halo was a FPS and I think it had a pretty impressive story line. What do you think?

Thats why I like the KotOR games, good storyline and pretty good graphics(for an original Xbox game). A really awesome RPG.

Yes I love star wars. thumbup.gif

Ive played all the FF's also and just a few months ago my son bought valkyrie profile: Silmeria which is a side scrolling one , a little weird at first but i got over that and got immediatley addicted and have been playing non stop , dungeons are awesome and after you beat the game you have the opportunity to play on in this totally difficult dungeon , id reccomend this one to anyone , theres others in the series but i havent played them ....yet
realmcutter
yeah i just got that new Pokemon mystery dungeon: explorers of darkness last saturday. I've already gotten about 23 hours on it in the last couple of days, i just can't stop playin it grin2.gif . does anyone here know of any other good DS rpgs?
sub_x0ne
A few really good RPGs in my opinion are Valkyrie Profile 2, Shining Force EXA, Rogue Galaxy, and Dragon Quest 8. All of them are for PS2. You should check them out.
kobie
i cant wait for on the ps3...white night, FFXIII and versus...STAR OCEAN 4 and a few others....there still slow but im yet to tast the next gen rpg experience....that enchanted arms dont count i thought it was un innovative and let down by gameplay..good storie and cut scenes though but not worthy at all for a rpg great symbol of remembrance...ohhhh and the new suikoden 6 rumored to be coming out

Might be. Haven't played the first one, so I can't comment on that one. But Fatal Frame 3 (or Project Zero 3: The Tormented as it's called over here in Euroland) definitely isn't much of an RPG, but straight up survival horror.

Wow that game was horrible! Real waste of time.
Slave2Fate
Yea, Baldur's Gate I and II for the PC. simply one of the best rpg's ever made, truly epic.

An old classic console game, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night for the PS1 its more of an action game with RPG elements, but a very good game, and fun.

Also, I cant forget the Fallout series on the PC, post-apocalyptic rpg goodness grin2.gif

Star Ocean sumthin sumthin ( i cant remember the sub-title laugh.gif ) for the PS2 was good as well

I liked Champions of Norath for the PS2 also if you like a more hack and slash kind of RPG
Zafael
Tales of Symphonia on the GameCube was really good, and so are most of the Grandia series for the Playstation 2 ( I enjoyed numbers 2 and 3)
Digital Devil Saga for the PS2 is also pretty fun :]

Fable on xbox, I just bought it on Xbox live arcade for the 360. It's so fun, and Fable 2 is coming out at sometime which looks even better.

Fable 2 will be set in the colonial era, which ruins the game for me.
