Do you think that a Demon can take over completely, and control the body until its natural death,Then move on to another?
shaun3701
Well if you believe in the Bible then yes... it describes many instances of people being "possessed" by one or more demons. I've seen myself a woman who supposedly had a demon, and it was very strange. People were praying over her and she would speak in a hideous strange voice and her face would change and distort itself... it was very creepy. Of course it can't really be proven... it could just be some sick mental illness but I believe it's possible for demons to take control of a person.
Shankpin
I believe it's possible. I also think it's possible for some to be under that influence to different extents.

I think they have amazing capabilities, so anything is possible. I dont believe they truly want to kill humans, but rather terrorize them, and wear them down to the point the Demonic can take over and the human loses the will to fight, and the will to live, but that depends on the person involved. For those with free will, and strength, they are truly untouchable, but can become influenced by the Demonic, not possessed..JMO....JN

Absolutely! A perfect possession. Demons will in this case come for and follow after death and during such a possession you become a prisoner in your own mind and body.Horrible stuff.

Hey Methos, You read "hostage to the devil?" just curious.

No.Is it good?
Shankpin
Sigh. I won't forget it. I was asking because it mentions "perfect possession" and gives a case example --

best book I've ever read in my entire life, tbh.

AAAHHH! Malachi Martin. I just looked it up online and will have to read it,i have some interviews with him about exorcism. Have you ever read "the dark sacrament"? Also a good book with stories about exorcism`s.
Shankpin
Actually, No I haven't, but read all the others that are out there... who is the writer??

and if you decide to read Martins' just know that it's ruff-- hands down one of the best on the subject. He doesn't hold anything back, if you get my drift.

*edit, ok checking it out now.. tongue.gif

hmm, I'll be checking this one out ASAP.

David M. Kiely and Christina McKenna. They write about two different exorcist`s one a Protestant and one a Catholic and most of the stories are from outside the U.S. so the stories are not so well known. It`s almost 400 pages so it has alot of stories.

It is a good book next to the Demonologist. Here is a link to read part of the book, and Carniveau, you can find it in some torrents. I had to buy 2 of the Demonologist because one was stolen. I have noticed that people always “borrow” these kind of books of mine and they never return them or they go mysteriously missing. Anyhoot, back to topic, I don’t think its going to be a natural death, eventually the person will die(the mind and body will not work together. Michelangelo knew this when he painted God reaching a hand toward Adam on the ceiling of a chapel), or commit suicide. The crucial force, I deduce, is the universe is mental rather than corporeal.

I haven't heard of the Demonoligist either. Guess I'll be checking that one out as well.

The Dark sacrament, from what I could understand, is very similar to Hostage (Martins) cases are very different, while extremely interesting.

another good read on my list.
Methos1
I looked again at hostage to the devil before i was going to order it and started to recognize the cover so i went and checked my bookshelf and there it was,i have not read it for a long time but i still remember some things like "Uncle Ponto"i will have to read it again.I was kind of disappointed in "the demonologist" after all the hype i read online but it scared the crap out of my sister who saw centipede`s and heard knocking sounds ever time she would read it,but i read it after her and heard or saw nothing.
Shankpin
Methos, Read GIRLFIXER- i think it's like the 3rd or 4th... ugh.

-

I personally had nightmares reading the book, So, in my own belief, prayed about it. I was finally able to sit down and read it when I tried so many times before, I would get a lot of anxiety in the beginning.. weird.
Methos1
I will read it tonight, good bedtime story. Have any of you read either of Gabriele Amorth`s books(An exorcist tells his story or An exorcist:more stories)? Just wondered if they were any good.
Blind Atrocity
Well... that's what they say.
Shankpin
I've read Amorth's including G. Peck's.. I read Hostage first, the others (In my opinion) just don't come close to be honest..

It has been said that many demons will form a legion after possession. but I tell you that this is no legion just captive souls imprisoned by the demon eternally. Those who are condemned will be, well in short to the victor goes the spoils.

That is an excellent observation and analasis, why would the demon stay put?Simply kill the host and move on.After all they are demons, right. But another question to ponder? What if the host is a powerful world leader or close?Oh yeah thanks for the link.

No I sure don't.
Why would anyone believe such a thing?
If you research demons and their history you will find the answers you're looking for.
I've read all of the books mentioned above at another member's suggestion and found them all to be amusing! No offense anyone, but it was sort of like reading "The Exorcist" and "Alice in Wonderland" mixed together. At least Amorth's books were well written. Cool stories, if you like horror, but too many discrepencies and contradictions to be fact, IMO, of course.
Like voodoo and the story of clapping for Tinkerbell from Neverland, you have to believe it, for it to be true, apparently. wink2.gif

............<<>> I have studied on this subject for 13 years. In Roman times a legion of soldiers were about 3,000 to 5,000 men in each legion. In order to prove my point, I need to use a scripture from the Bible, so please don't get mad. (Mark.5:1-23)- In verse 9 Jesus asked the demon that possessed the man what was his name. The demon replied, and said my name is legion; (for we are many). You can look this scripture up and read the whole story. If you have any questions feel free to ask................Joey.

Good point! Matthew, Mark, Luke and John would have known what a "legion" was in Roman terms.

it's quiet possible yes, but it's also possible that you could physically and mentally be you and have a demon behind you in your sub-concious that controls you causing such devious disasters.
as many think the Evil leaders who rulled on this planet. By bible states it's possible yes to be possessed and control you physically and mentally. Such stories are like Exorcist and Exorcism of Emily Rose. Those are prime examples of such a situation. So i believe it's possible that this could happen but i'm pretty sure it's going in a long shot though. who knows? *shrugs*

No, because I don't believe in Demons, or Satan either for that matter.

IMO religion was created to keep control over the masses and look how well it's worked! I went to church (baptist and later methodist) every sunday through high school. Have read the bible fairly extensively (probably more than a lot of people), but then I began to question the inconsistencies. The more I read and the more I thought about it, it doesn't add up. So I went elsewhere for my beliefs (more of the Eastern Reincarnation Philosophies with a dash of this and that. lol).

And I know this will bring down the "It's the word of god" crowd, but I ask you. How do you know it's the "word of god"? Did you see him write it? Did you hear him whisper in the ears of these prophets? No we are taking records written thousands of years ago and believing they are the word of god. I mean "I" can write a scripture and say that "god" told me this is the way things are/should be, but that doesn't make it so. So I believe in things that make sense to me.

Eh well I actually said more than I intended. The subject of Demons tends to get me worked up. I like a good horror story as much as the next person, but I don't believe there is a hockey masked fiend under my bed waiting to kill me, if you get my drift. wink2.gif

Methos, I actually just finished The Dark Sacarament about a week ago. What an awesome book. It's hard to imagine that the things that they talk about are real. It almost sounds like a horror movie. Excellent book, I recommend it to anyone that wants to read about excorcisms & possessions. I will have to check out Hostage to the Devil.
