This seems very ordered and non-random to me. This experiment seem very repeatable. It's like these very distinct and intriguing patterns arise as a result of the frequency rate. Notice how certain rates of frequency are reached and the patterns just "snap" into form. This is awesome!

Its not random, its the visual manifestation of a standing wave......

I was just about to say, it seems to me that what we are seeing is the grains flung away from bits of the surface that move up and down and collecting on areas where not much motion happens (nodes). They would snap into place whenever the frequency reached a point at which a standing wave with stationary nodes and moving portions resonated on the surface. Good call!

I'm one of those that firmly believe in sacred geometry and that it is "the meaning of life". A secret door that needs to be opened, a code that needs to be broken that Da Vinci, Poussin and Tesla knew about. Solfegio frequencies and their harmonics related to it.

Was reading a book a long time ago about geometrical forms carved in Roslyn chapel that were actually reproducible by different frequencies. Don't recall what title it was or who published it, but was quite an interesting read.

I did this in physics class last year, you're right.

That's the first time I've ever considered waves to be that 3 dimensional in appearance. I guess the board and the salt just produce the medium for us to visualize the waves. Obviously, we can't see sound waves in the air. I've never considered these characteristics before and I think it's fascinating. I wouldn't mind hearing more elaborations....and thanks for the additional comments.

when I saw this first time a while back made me think that that was it... the answer to life, the universe, and everything.

Maybe "God" was this pime "vibration" and without it nothing would hold its form/energy level/whatever... would make things "bad/good" according to the absolute... kinda answers alot.

But then reading some other stuff I gotta keep it in the back of me head and not glob onto it like it really is the answer to everything. Sure is one good possible explination to me though.
