This is probably just the tip of what's to come and I hope the media keeps up with it...I'm still amazed that the mother had no idea what was going on...Possibly the story is going to change on alot of the issues...ugh and the old man looks like such a freakin derelict it's sickening...

And now, according to CNN, the investigators are looking for other rooms in the cellar. There must be other missing persons, so they aare trying to see if he is responsible for them.

I read that his son was also spotted going into the cellar with him, and that they are looking into a past murder that he may have been involved in.....Also, because of his threat to those downstairs that he would gas them if they tried to escape, they were looking into that..

This is the kind of thing that they make really bad horror movies about... It is hard to imagine what happened all those years, and I dont really care to know, but for the poor kids that are involved they have no choice in the matter...geez. How sick does a person have to be to do something like that?

You know what Fluffy, I can't imagine the worse horror movie being compared to this...As others said, his eyes look blank, dead, and yet they say he was a very smart, intelligent, individual, add that on to the diabolical mind that he has and it goes beyond sick....

It really makes me wonder about him being so intelligent and being so sadistic. Yet, that is a reoccurring element in a lot of crimes.

I was watching a show the other night on serial murderers, the BTK, Dahmer, all the big ones...they all had the same thing going for them, the part of the brain that allows for empathy just simply was not there. Other human beings had no more emotional calculation that a person that steps on an ant on a sidewalk, but even worse than that in that they took pleasure in others horror and pain; it was like some sick experiment. They played the court tapes of the BTK killers description of the murders of several of the women, and you would have thought by the tone of his voice he was giving a stranger directions to the nearest gas station; there was not the slightest hint of emotion as he went through each of the murders-nothing. Other humans just simply dont factor in; they are a part of the world and these folks have to watch other people to learn how to act around them.

I cant imagine one night in this monsters captivity...but 24 years?

That's why they say that his daughter will never get over it, she was too traumitzed, and will not be able to have a 'normal' life now.

ridiculously claims she has joined a cult and does
not want to have any contact with the family – yet
amazingly then later chooses (for 3 years in a row)
to simply leave 3 of her newborn babies on the
doorstep of very home that she tried to run away
from at least 2 X's before and is "allegedly thought"
to have finally left in order to join some sort of
“phantom” cult (a "cult" which, unlike every other
cult, just somehow, seemingly has no desire to try
to indoctrinate the youth from birth, but rather it
simply allows it's members to select a home --one
which in fact, is both not a part of the cult AND is
the very home from which the member ran in order
to join the cult ---to raise their babies and kids of
the cult members) --ALL THE WHILE – the father
forbids ANYONE to ever for ANY REASON dare to
go ANYWHERE NEAR the mysterious basement
(which he always keeps locked, disappears to for
hours and days on end; has ‘unseen’ bathroom
equipment installed; and has a cement-barricaded
door installed which both has a security-code and
which was so complicated it needed inspection
by local government authorities in order to install).

Just 2 years before the “discovery” of what this
monster (and his devil wife via her complicity of
silence) did to their poor child – another young girl,
and former kidnap victim, was also found in Austria.

had been held in a basement / dungeon where

I suspect that we haven’t heard the last of horror stories like this, I know it's a different situation but it reminds me of the bit in Pulp Fiction when Willis and Rhames are held prisoner and Zed orders his henchman to bring out the Gimp, it's a classic example that you just don’t know what people get upto behind closed doors.

In the UK we had a married couple called Fred and Rose West, they basically tortured, violated and killed numerous young women including their own daughter and concreted them into the floor of their basement and buried them under the Garden patio, the neighbours didn’t even suspect anything like this was gong on and to be honest you wouldn’t would you, it's just beyond comprehension.
