It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia is arbuably the best and funniest show on TV right now. It started in 2005 and airs on FX. It's 4th season starts this fall/late summer. If you haven't watched it, it's about 3 guys, Charlie, Mac, and Dennis who own a bar in Philly. Dennis's sister, Sweet Dee, also works for them. In the second season, Dennis and Dee's father, Frank, played by Danny DeVito, comes back into their lives and works with them. They always get into absolutely ridiculous scenarios, most of the time completely neglecting the fact that they own a bar and have a business to run. The characters are complete self-absorbed and don't really care about anyone other than themselves, yet you still can't help but love them. The show itself touches on a lot of controversial and sensitive issues, and is usually so politically incorrect it's hysterical. However, FX rarely airs reruns, and when they do, it's very late at night. You can pick up the Seasons 1 and 2 DVD set for around 15-20 bucks these days. Season 3 will be coming to DVD late summer right in time for Season 4. I highly suggest buying the DVDs. The show is incredibly addicting and hilarious. I don't know how many times I've watched them already. This show is one of the only good reasons to watch TV anymore. I can't say it's anything like Two and a Half Men or Rules of Engagement (which are both excellent shows), or any other average sitcom. It's more in the style of The Office or Arrested Developement, except a lot funnier. But if you're looking for something that has extremely good writing and will keep you coming back for more, then Always Sunny is your show.

The office
Carpoolers was good but it may not be on still.
According to Jim.
There just isn't many comedies out there now. No room with all the crap (Dancing with the stars, American Idol) on TV.
How is ER still on?

Black Books is one of my favorite comedies. It started in 2000, but it's worth checking out if you get the chance

True Blood starts on HBO this fall. If it is like the book series it willed be packed with comedy.
For example - The Elvis sightings happened because Elvis was changed into a vampire while he was hopped up on drugs so he did not cross over so well. He kept getting away from the other vampires because he likes to eat cats and they won't let him have any.
The books stay at the top of the best sellers list. Funny stuff.

I have to second My Name is Earl. Love that show. I want to be like Joy! Best line ever, Crab Man takes the kids to his mom's for the weekend. Joy is standing waving good bye outside the Crab Shack and says "Bye, bye! Don't call! Mama won't miss you!" Then goes in and gets drunk. How many times have I wanted to do that!? lol!
I'm also a huge fan of Corner Gas. Kinda reminds me of Seinfeld in small town Saskatchewan!
