I've had a few strange things happen in my house in the 9 years i've lived here (i'm 15)

1) It was 2002 in late Feb. It was about 3 weeks after my grandpa died and we just kinda got over it and were hanging out, when all of a suuden the ceiling fan starting turning all by itself. Th weird thing was that my dad couldn't get that thing to turn ever since we moved in here.

2) My cousins came up to visit from Wisconsin Rapids (we live in appleton,wi) and it was summertime and we were screwing around when my mom yelled at us and asked who turned her glass angels around, well, we were way to short to reach them cuz they were high up on a ledge on the wall, and it couldn't have been my mom cuz she was just in there for a split second and i didn't see her do anything.

3) This experience was in 2005 i believe. It was winter time and in wisconsin we have horrible winters and we had a lot of snow so I went out at night to shovel. I was halfway done when I noticed that
my the light in my parents room was on and their door was open, now if the door is open to their room it is clearly visible from the front window, and I was home alone. I thought nothing of it so I got back to shoveling when I noticed the light in their room was off, so I said to myself " what the hell is going on in there?" So about 10 minuted later i'm done so I go inside to check out the scene. Just as I am about to leave the room I notice the cord to their lamp was unplugged. I was sooo scared so I waited outside for my mom to get home, and boy was I freezing.

4) This happened recently and still is. My room is upstairs and above in in the ceiling is a crawl space, and the entrance to it is right outside my door. When ever I try to fall asleep up there I keep on hearing things up their like dragging, it's not small like a rodent, it's like someone broke their ankle and their dragging it around. I thought nothing of it and went to sleep. About a month later my brother come and moves back from colorado, and I let him use my room until he finds a place to move with his fiance'. The next day he asked me if I've ever heard a dragging sound above my room, and of course I said yes. After that he said " And also, did you cut the framing of your door?" So I asked "what do you mean?" and he said their were scratches along the frame of my door on each side. So I go up their and I'm like WTF????? There are these deep scratches on each side I got these chills down my spine. I know for a fact that my parents would'nt do that nor my brother because he respects my stuff and he just would have laughed at me being freaked out if he had done it, plus their was nothing that would have been around to slash it with. To this day those scratched are still there.

Thank you for your time and it has been a pleasure sharing my experiences with you, peace...

wow... That last one made me shiver slightly... I hope that you can find someone who can help... i'm afraid i don't know anything about hauntings, unless
what attacked your door and crawls about is a large animal... thumbsup.gif

Welcome to UM By the way. thumbsup.gif

Oooo very interesting! I always love having things like this happen to me, happens a lot in my house too! Theres always the feeling of dread and fear first of all, and then it subsides into adrenaline whilst you figure out how it could've happened!

You cant rule out the possibility of faulty electrical items etc. when lights or objects switch on and off. The shuffling noise and scratches on the door are very interesting though - again always look for the most reasonable explaination before thinking its something paranormal - be critical when these things happen, look for all other possiblities first! As for the scratches - are you sure they weren't there before?

I am very open to the idea of spirit communication and the existence of ghosts, i dont have a problem with accepting that they may exist due to having many experiences myself. I have had supposed poltergeist activity with a book launching itself across my room, door handles moving on their own and the doors consequently opening, the sound of post being dropped through the letter box with nothing there when i investigate, footsteps, ive had an unseen hand (or something similar) touch me on my shoulder when i was meditating.....plenty!

Why not set up a video camera over night to see if you can catch anything on tape? Or take some photos?

If there is a presence in the house, does it feel negative? Scratches may not necessarily mean an angry or violent spirit, perhaps its trying to be noticed the only way it knows how?

Hope this helped original.gif

If everybody had a policy like that we'd have discovered planty of cryptids already, it's a shame so many people don't try hard enough.

cool avatar btw. thumbsup.gif

Lol its all that effort involved!

I am guilty of it though - there have been countless times ive wanted to do it but never did. Lack of equipment is my excuse! tongue.gif

And thanks! My avatar makes me smile whenever i see it! It looks so happy!

1. If a strong draft entered the room, or someone was tall enough to hit the ceiling fan, then that is likely what happened. Ceiling fans are weird like that. Trust me, I know.

2. Could your father or an older guest who was tall enough turn the angels?

3. Is it possible your parents unplugged the lamp? Or is that the light that suddenly came on? If it isn't, then it could have just been a weird light flicker... Maybe the bulb was acting up? The light in our living room does that a lot, and most of the time doesn't work.

4. It's more likely that you may have hit your frame with a heavy object. I do it all the time to my walls on accident. The dragging noise could be a board hanging loose and hitting things or a large rodent -- not all are small.

It is a good idea. Maybe people would be afraid to absolutely know the truth, I know I would - I'd rather bury my head in the sand, being a yellow belly.

And It could not have been a draft because it was winter and we had the windows sealed cuz all week it was below 0, and also my dad wasn't home.
