I'm a pretty well seasoned Ghost Hunter here on Long Island, NY. Been doing this for some time. My team have been investigating a mansion in Old Westbury, NY for just over a full year now. We call it home because the director ( fortunately ) joined our group and we lucked out to gain this haunted location as our stomping grounds to conduct our research, train new members, do podcasts and so forth. I cannot reveal the location or name because the owner wishes to remain anonymous. When I investigate a haunted location, I go into the investigation 50% skeptic and 50% open minded.

But here is my question to all Ghost Hunters & enthusiasts. Have you ever been physically touched by an entity or spirit? If so... have you ever encountered where the entity or spirit has shared anything with you? A vision? A feeling? An emotion? I've been investigating this place for a year and never have been touched by a spirit in this mansion. However, until recently I was touched on an investigation we did last month. I was sitting in a chair in a master bedroom. I got a heat sensation on my arm. I know generally ghosts give off a cold spot versus a heat sensation. I have heard on some cases where ghosts can give off heat too. But its very rare. After I got the sensation I immediately got a sharp pain right between the eyes, and afterwards I felt sad, like I wanted to cry. It was very over whelming. I have never encountered anything like this before. I'm pretty healthy, and know its nothing medical.

I just wanted to know if anyone else has encountered anything like this?

I'm not a psychic or have any special gifts. I have been touched by spirits before in other locations, but I have never come across anything like this.

Ever since I was touched by this spirit, I feel more compelled to be there. Like I am obligated to try and help her. I know its a female, and the impression she landed on me was that she was very sad and lonely. Even though we have attempted to help her, she is still trapped. On our last investigation there, even though most of them very faint... I got a total of 11 EVP's in just this one room where she is present. I'll share some of them once I compile them together. But some I cannot due to the locations privacy.

Anyone is welcome to share their thoughts on this experience.

Hi Pluto. During my haunting I began a thread on here regarding hot spots, on the body not the area. They are not cold, they are truly hot. I was told that when a negative spirit touches you, it can actually feel very hot and sometimes burn the skin, or result in scratches. Also of spirits, bring out the empath in us, such as making us cry, or sob like babies due to such sadness they bring to the surface and its THEIR sadness, not ours. Problem is, you never really know who is touching you and trying to gain your attention. Dont jump to conclusions and believe its a lonely woman, when indeed it could very well be a Demonic disguising itself. Just be careful. For every hot spot, comes flooding emotions, and many times physical scars. Be carefeful..JN

I've talked about this one experience in particular few times here.. but anyways here it goes again.
This is one of my most memorable because my heart went out to this child in such a way, I cant' describe.

I sleep on my left side, sound asleep I feel this shrugging or tugging at my upper thigh on my right leg. I kept ignoring it, until finally the shrugging became pretty hard. I awoke to find this child, a little girl about 10, standing there. She had long dark hair and in this very older style dress, It looked dark green-ish with white lace. I snatch back away from her, and sat up.. It startled the piss out of me.
She took off running away with her arms drew up above her head as if I was gonna hit her.. In the defensive mode. She was running away but still looking back at me... sigh.
She came to me many times before she finally left me alone. Something I will never forget.

Thats very interesting. Did she always do the same thing . wake you up by tugging . did her reaction change over the times she visited . or did it always stay the same . where once you saw her she fled ?? .

LOL, no sometimes she'd awake me by slamming the bathroom door... even shaking my bed (grabbing the foot board), even play with my hair. It was as if she was determined to get my attention & that she did.
She'd always run away once (or so it seemed) she seen I was awake.. she would run behind a chair I had facing my bed in a corner.. She'd even run off into my closet, or outside my bedroom door into the hallway.

Its been a long the lines of me saying I think we totally underestimate their intelligence.

I don't think the spirit that touched me was a negative or demonic presence. Its definitely female and goes by the name of Mary. Two other investigators got a name ringing in their head of Mary. What's really interesting is, I have a new volunteer in my group under training and was there for the first time and got the impression of Mary and he's never been there before.

I didn't feel apprehensive or feel like it was malicious.

Wow that must have been quite a mixture of emotions for you . I think in that situation i would have felt rather helpless . you seem to have fond memories of it though they way you convey it . She sounds very friendly and shy . like most kids really I guess . thanks for sharing .

I would say go with your gut instinct . If you dont feel it was malicious then that should be good enough . It is ineresting that this new investigator was there on his first time . Any chance you could be picking these emotions up from him rather than an entity in the room . was it his first ever investigation .

I often feel hot spots too but these days i just put them down to normal occurances . never once thought anything negative though so i wouldn't worry on that front . but thats just my opinion .

Kid that really isn't there wakes me up two nights in a row - there's a video camera set up on night three, I'll tell you what.

My last investigation on Friday I had a pretty crazy experience. We have been investigating this place for quite some time now and I have always hated the basement, always hated the stairwell leading down to the basement. I was down in the basement checking on two investigators and on my way back up the stairwell I got this wicked image and I felt threatened. I ran up the steps and out to the kitchen area. I literally had tears in my eyes as I was describing what just happened to a fellow team leader. As we walked out front to the gallery I suddenly got a burning sensation on the small of my back and it felt like I was going up and down on a rollarcoaster for 5-10 minutes. The area is known to be negative with objects being thrown at people. Pretty crazy...

It was happening at a such a spread out length of time, within a year or so- & still took a while for me to accept what I seeing was real, and wasn't my imagination.. Wish I knew then, what I know now... This entire house would be set pics, vids, evps you name it. sigh.

Dont wanna sound like the mega skeptic on ya here or anything . LOL (moi) .

But could it just be that you were anticipating something before you went down there cause you said you always hated the basement . maybe thats what triggered your reaction . I know you dont scare easy so its a stretch i guess . Idk im just throwing things out there. It seems that when we feel fear our stomach does flips. is that what you mean when you say you felt you were on a rollercoaster. a sickly feeling? . or physically like you were swaying . I have no idea regarding the burning though . odd too say the least .

I've thought about that. You have to realize I have now been on over 135 investigations in the past ten years. I have been in worse situations where I felt a lot worse about a place and never experienced such a thing. It is possible, but I don't find it likely.

No scratches or anything but the best i can describe is it feels like I got hit by a baseball, its still kinda tender.

Still like that after two days or so.. bizarre.

In my mid-teens. I was sleeping in an basement and someone had sat beside me. I am 100% sure that the bed had gone down at my feet, however..100% unsure, if it was an Ghost. I remember moving my feet to the spot see if anyone was there. No heat or anything like that. I was sleeping in a Rez house that had tragic times in the family. I was staying over night. My relatives has many stories about this place...and I rem each one.
Some of them tell me about scratches but they never show me. Why is that?
A short time ago, Lynn, my wife, and I were ghost hunting after dusk of an old abandoned farm house(posted the story). We were walking around the old home upstairs and the main floor Lynn and we suddenly had a overpowering ominous feeling that something was with us. We started to hear tapping at one end of the house. Lynn couldn’t take it more and went back out of the house to the van, and I heroically stayed in the dining room or it appeared to be a dining room. My camcorder was screwing up by shutting down and it rarely* does that. So, from time to time, I would be trapped in the dark, listening and apprehensively fidgeting with the buttons in trying to switch on the camcorder for light. The tapping were becoming closer to me and clearer. I finally realized that the tapping was right beside me in the dining room. I bolted outside towards the van stumbling over tall grass. Lynn had enlightened me that I was white as an ghost when I entered the van. (No EVP)
The next experience was an UFO sighting. So, I‘ll be brief: Lynn and I were sitting watching the sun going down and we were sitting on some rocks by the SK River. It was a beautiful evening. Then sometime later, we see this low light just over the trees going slow. I had thought it was satellite at first.. like a Google Earth satellite. I had my camcorder but the battery was totally dead because I was recording all that day. This light kept on going then it bends upwardly to the dark blue sky n fading away.
*My camcorder again shuts down when we were at the Crooked Trees, Hafford, Saskatchewan. The trees are so twisted and it’s a botanic mystery. Some of the farmers say that UFO stopped in, pissed there and continued on travelling. There is many tourists that go there n take their pictures and walk thru the board walk supplied. The place is one of the 8th wonders of Canada. Some of the tourists do feel faint or dizzy. I never felt nothing nor did Lynn and the kids in the while we were there, but the night sky was sooo bright n clear. I had never seen the band of the Milky Way so bright b4. I have segmented footage.
These are the only real threeish experiences that really challenged my senses, but no heat, scratches or bumps in the night. I wish…

I'm glad nothing like that has ever happened to me....Soo creepy.

Well, it was scary as hell when it first started, but it gradually got to the point where she didn't scare me anymore.

I don't know if this was really my grandmother or just an overly active imagination, but when I was younger (I'd say 5 ish?) I remember talking to my mother about my grandmother. I never met her because she died before I was born. But that night, I remembered just being really sad and crying in my bed because I never got to meet her and all of a sudden I felt a hand on my face and I felt totally calm and not sad at all. It was pretty neat.

So, thankfully that's the only time I ever felt like I might have been touched by something. I don't think I could handle all that, haha.

I think its great to have everyone share their experiences from all perspectives. It gives the field more credibility. The more people open up, the more our field grows.

Great thread. It's interesting how you and, and Cry Woof too, say you felt really emotional and you could sense that this ghost was sad. Can I ask, even though you say you try to help her, how far would you go in trying to release her spirit? what steps could you take?

I have had alot of paranormal experiences, but one in particular was pretty nasty, and very full of anger and sadness.The weird thing about this one was it followed me from l.a. to seattle and hung around me and a few freinds for a while.Kinda started at a freinds house, where she had told us that she had a possible demonic entity in the house.Well I didn't pay any attention to her story at the time, just kinda ignored it.Then one night as we were eating out at a resturant this girl shakes.Some guy we were with says "what the hell was that?", she says "a ghost just went through me",he says "bull crap".My wife at the time says "no, I just saw it go through her", and when I looked at her I could see this sort of wispy looking white stuff right above her head.I did not say anything to anyone at this time though, I just let it all go.Then from time to time when we were in her house, I kept getting the worst smell in there but couldn't tell where it was comming from.Then the smell would go away and not return for a while.Anyways, I just had this feeling like something started following me around,mind you I didn't tell anyone about this.On our way back home my wife says "don't let this thing follow you back home", Which I replied ok.

We get back to seattle and our freinds house in l.a. burns to the ground, and the next thing I know I start getting uncontrollable urges to be sad or mad, and the 2 people I hung out with at the time, we would seem to pass this energy back and forth for what seemed to be like 4 months.I am not proned to mood swings nor am I a depressed person, but this was something else,out of the blue one of us would just get a flood of emotions out of absolutly nowhere.The emotions were always super, super intense,and uncontrollable.There was also alot of physical phenomenon that accompanied this stuff as well, like everything on one side of the room being knocked over as if someone put there arm out and ran down that side of the room.Things flying around as if someone picked them up and threw them as hard as they could.The front door would be bolted and chaind and locked down for the night and when going out the door would be wide open as if someone ran out the door.The slaming of the door or it being unlocked and left wide open would happen alot.One time change from the money bowl on the talbe started flying through the air in every direction hitting all the walls.and so on and on.just alot of wierd activity.

What ever it was there was definitly a transferance of alot of negative emotions.Hope this add some insight or helps you in some way.

Psychics who can communicate with spirits I've heard that they say if you guide them to the light, can sometimes help a trapped spirit. Though we have attempted this method in an EVP session before, the spirit still lingers. Right now, I don't know how to help her. I don't have a last name yet, and no details in what kind of help they need. If I had that information, I would try and gather up some history or background on that. Then go from there...

That's sad. It's sad to think of being trapped like that with no one to help you. Potentially, anyone of us could end up like this.

I think something happened in that room. This spirit always stays in this room. I think I have to figure out what happened. I've been trying to get details for the longest time. I get dribs and drabs. We had an EVP say " I want them to see, and able to know" ... Know what? I have no idea! But its obvious by that EVP, she wants & needs help. she wants something to be known.

That's really got me intrigued. Would you keep us posted, anonymously of course, but I'd love to know how you get on with this, if you find any more information or can help this woman.

Sure... we investigate the mansion once a month.

I've been trying everything to get specific details. I just don't know what else to try. I've tried white noise with a white noise machine, to natural water. I've tried light experiments to gain attention. If anyone has any methods they'd like to share to get direct responses with EVP work, feel free to share them.

I always see these kinds of experiences as the inner child wanting your attention.
