There's a couple of things that gets me about this video.
1. The way the camera starts to zoom in right at the start just before the apparition appears, despite the claim on the video that it's just a camera running overnight.
I'm fairly sure the original film doesn't do that, and it was processed with a "zoom in" after the fact.
After studying it a little more, I think it could very well be an odd-shaped light coming through a window from a car maneuvering somewhere behind the camera. If you watch the slow-mo, you can see evidence of the light "spraying" across the different surfaces in the hallway and changing shape as it passes different visual depths, the way a small flashlight beam would if you passed it across different objects.
EDIT: Watching it a few more times, I'm convinced that's exactly what it is. The two-dimensional nature of the video tape hides it well - if you were standing there watching it happen, you would likely recognize it for what it really is, a sweeping light coming from outside and behind the camera.
Carefully watch the closet full of shirts on the left as the "object" approaches them - the light on them changes at the exact moment the "object" would have passed by them. It seems like the zoom-in is there for two reasons - it gets closer to the object, and it helps hide what would give it away as a fake (the shirts).
Also, watch the light that falls on both the wall with pictures facing the camera and the shirts - as the "object" passes by in the hallway, the light on both the wall and the shirts markedly dims, just as if a light source outside had left. Replace the insipid horror music with the sound of a car leaving, and blammo.
I am 100% convinced it's nothing but a car that did some maneuver similar to backing out of a driveway. They were hearing sounds? That was probably the person in the car, maybe he was their daughter's secret boyfriend stopping by for another late night visit or something.
It is NOT a ghost. I don't think the people who made it are trying to fool people, they just didn't study it enough.
