Just to start a new topic here.... I am always sceptical. There has never been a situation withought a logical explination for me. But i do not deny the fact that there are so many things that we don't understand. I am spiritual in my own regard and if i can belive in that, how can i not believe the possibility of spirits and things of that nature. I am searching for a paranormal experience, to prove to myself, fact or fiction, and to maybee back up my spiritual views once and for all. So far to no avail. Tampa FL and i know there are things around here but how do you approach stuff like that. How many people on here have went on there own adventures? Especially if your in my area. What about obvious places like cemetaries, i donno bout all that but hey maybee. Just curious to see what ya'll think.....?

i've done a couple investigations of my own in my basement with some friends, one with one friend, a second with 4 other friends, next one i think it'll just be a couple because a couple were messing around a bit though so. But i have caught things on EVP. Honestly find your friends in your area that are interested in these kinds of things and maybe do an investigation at a cemetary, or post up flyers about your group and see if you have any takers on people who will trust you to go into there home and investigate there house they says is "haunted". but you must act professionally though, no one will take you serious unless you act in a professional matter.

I have to tell you...

Do not mess with things of which you do not have knowledge... Do not even attempt to dulge into it on your own....Seek someone that has the experience to guide you...

You are in for more danger messing with such strong spirits, especially if dark ones try to get thru to you. And let me Gurantee you that they will try.... There are protection prayers that you should say as well....Stay away from Ouiji boards and tarot cards. They are the doorway to entry of such.

I dont want to deter you from seeking the knowledge and experience, but dont try if your inexperienced and on your own.

You can start off by doing E.V.P.'s- Electronic Voice Phenomenon. I did that and it worked for me. You can do it with a small, hand held tape recorder, a dictaphone, if you like. Let it run on "Record" during the night sitting on your window sill with the window open, or, you can go to the cemetary and run it on "Record", during the day, or the night, in a cemetary that is still open during the night. You may not find a voice, or voices right away, however, practice makes perfect. You can ask questions, such as "Is anybody here who'd like to speak to me?", and various other questions you desire. It may work for you. Good luck.

i am not scared to jump into things by myself.... i am the only one that ever did anything for me.... i don't wan't someone freaking out and spreading there whole phycosis thing ya know? get people going in a direction no telling what they find... whatever they want really! also know how to investigate that part is simple, if you have any scientific mind at all. so far nothing. maybee i am just too sceptical, i don't think i see or hear anyhting so i don't. i havent tried a cemetary i just wanted to know if it was stupid which i previously thought or if anyone has really experienced something with a lot of evidence or is it still left ultimately to interpritation at the end?

No, it is not stupid.... and there could be some things left open to interpretation with everything we encounter through out our llives...

Im sure that you are not afraid at this onset of such quests in your young life.....and i dont mean to imply that you cant handle the strongfastness of your quest verses being scared.... But such things are very real and need to be experienced with someone who can protect you while you learn about them. Your right investigating is easy...getting rid of dark spirits that can attach to you is not... My comments are for your protection only, since I dont wish to see harm come to anyone, thats all....not to diminish your integrity.... You know the saying seek and you shall find? You will for sure "find" in this, and, so they with you.....

Not to burst popular myth, but most cemeteries are not haunted. Yes some are, but more times than not the tales of a cemetery being haunted are not true. They can be a good place to practice EVP work. Usually there is no one around and the atmosphere will put your mind into a firm frame of mind. And who knows you may actually get something.

thats what i had previously heard also hence i thought it was stupid... I mean i have tried other places like vacant units where the occupants committed suicide but still nothing really. st. augustine light house is not that far from me and some of the evidence taps caught was interestin. woder if they let normal people in there? i have been there before but before taps investigated it it is definitely locked at night....

A healthy respect for the unknown is a good thing for an investigator. You never know what you're dealing with or what its capabilities are.

Maybe I'm bit paranoid about these things.. but when and if you do just be cautious- .

and cemeteries may *seem like the right place.. but It may surprise you.. find a place with history if possible. imo.

Here are some haunted sites in your city. The best ones to look for would be public places such as hotels that are easy to gain access to. Cemetaries are generally open to the public even at night but they aren't the best places to find hauntings. The best places to investigate are also generally the hardest to gain access to because they are not open to the public or rarely are.

If you hear about a public place that interests you, give them a call. The people who work there can tell you for sure if it is haunted.

Tampa - Britton Cinema - Doors in the ladies room are reported to shut and lock and toilets flush when no one is in the restroom is in there (except for the frightened customer). Also, multiple ghosts have been reported by managers past in the upstairs theaters that used to be one large balcony. Voices have been heard in the hall near auditorium #5 late at night when no one was in the building. An usher once heard someone call his name in auditorium #3 late at night when no one was around. And, last, an assistant manager once told me she had been followed up the hall by a shadow figure on the wall that was not hers.

Tampa - Fun Lan Drive-in theater - Built in 1950. A witness reports seeing a woman who was 6 feet tall walk in the door. She had long dark hair and as she walked in, she was looking down at the floor. The witness turned to look at her, but when they did she vanished.

Tampa - Howard W. Blake High School - The site of Blake High school was a hospital many years ago. When walking in hallways, it will be normal temperature. Once in a classroom, especially in the E building(theater) or B building, temperature will drop drastically, even if the air conditioning is broken, giving you hospital conditions. It is believed by the students that the B building was where the mortuary was.

Tampa - Howard W. Blake High School - Auditorium - Years ago a teacher died in the auditorium (area 1) of a heart attack during a pep rally. A cold spot can be felt while walking into the auditorium for every pep rally.

Tampa - Howard W. Blake High School - Library - the library where another teacher died. Near the tables in the back of the library you can feel a strange chill rise up your spine.

Tampa - Howard W. Blake High School - Main Theatre - To roll with the typical "all theatres have their ghosts" you can see strange lights in the wings, music, and occasional whistling. Things seem to go wrong during every show staged in that theatre.

Tampa - Falk Theatre - Believed to be haunted by Bessie Snavely. In her time, it was the Park Theatre. Bessie Snavely was an actress whose dressing room was on the third floor of this theatre. She hung herself there.

Tampa Hillsbrough - Haynes services - Reports of seeing a child ghost.

Tampa - Old Tampa Theater - It is an old theater that is very intricately detailed inside and has a particularly haunted look to it anyway. A young man in the 1940's started working there, his job running the projector. He loved his job and continued to work there until his death. Now employees have said that they occasionally hear footsteps and chains in deserted hallways behind the stage and have spotted someone in the projecting room even though there was no one up there at the time. Also reports of smell rancid smells, such as vomit and garbage, drafts of icy air, reports of something grabbing workers by the neck.

Tampa - University of Tampa - This place used to be a hotel over a hundred years ago. Theodore Roosevelt even stayed in it once. The second floor is blocked off and said to be unsafe because of age. Tour guides report seeing apparitions from the windows outside.

Tampa - University of Tampa - Frank Theater - A building owned by the University, actually off campus called the Falk theater is said to be haunted by a women who used to be an actress there. For some reason she hung herself and her apparition has been seen as well as strange voices.
