Bodies circled around a table
Fingers united atop a glass
Some unsure whether tis just a fable
They'll find out soon enough alas
Inviting whatever they can summon
They patiently sit & await a response
The other side know this practice is common
Some grab their opportunity at once
Candles flicker, the air grows heavy
The glass beseiged by a will of it's own
Names & words start to come aplenty
Though their origin be from persons unknown
Some try to grin an uneasy smile
'Was that you pushing' I hear them think
A spirit ventures forth from astral exile
Perchance an earthly form to link
The glass now moves around like clockwork
All feel an energy growing in power
Curiosity & intrigue do the devil's work
While some begin to shiver & cower
What has now been started in motion
Begins to unfold into a nightmare
For twas truly a most foolish notion
To show such bravado to meet a dare
Now something has found a way through
They know not what they're dealing with
It hungers to stick to someone like glue
Realisation dawns this is no longer a myth
Laughter now replaced with a scream
An unknown voice profanes & taunts
Suddenly, violantly awoken from a dream
Awash with sweat the fear still haunts
The dream so vivid, it seemed quite real
A deep breath intaken & a sigh of relief
A prayer is murmered as they nervously kneel
Pledging never to partake such foolish mischief
