I've been hearing reports about whether Deborah "D.C. Madam" Palfrey did in fact hang herself or whether she was murdered to shut her up about releasing names of johns that reached very high up the political pyramid? I believe that anything is possible and if she was murdered, it wouldn't surprise me the least. What do you guys think?

I say she was murdered. Women don't usually hang themselves as far as I've read. Not to say it's impossible, just very unlikely. Women seem to prefer overdoses, I'd say. And so close to her mom? Not likely either. (unless she really didn't like her mom) As far as any suicide note, I wouldn't believe what it said. Even if it's in her writing, she could have been forced to write it. She was going to bring down some big boys...they didn't want that to happen.

If she had high up powerful people on her books an there is the chance she would expose them, the answer is pretty clear, someone made the order to help her commit sucuide.

Powerful people have been "outed" as going to prostitutes before....have you already forgotten Eliot Spitzer? No murders there.

Wilber Mills didn't have Fanny Fox killed, and that was in the 70s.

Even if she was murdered, I doubt she'll ever "be found" to have been murdered.

True, statistically the most prevelant form of suicide by American women is poisoning/overdosing. But just because it is the most prevelant doesn't make hanging unlikely. The method of choice by most American men is firearms, but that doesn't mean a hanging is unlikely either. There's always a possibility that an overdose won't work, or it might take time to do the job, causing a severe amount of discomfort in the process. Hanging is painful, but can be quicker than overdosing.


So if the government was behind her death, and if they were trying to make it appear like a suicide, and if, as you say, a woman hanging herself is very unlikely, then why didn't the government kill her by poisoning, making it appear like an overdose? Killing her by hanging would cause suspicion, so why not choose the least conspicuous method?


Good thing is, she still can. There are still plenty of incriminating records from her business to subpeona.

I rarely believe any conspiracy stuff. I think most of it is paranoid trash, bad science, and runaway speculation requiring HUGE stretches of the imagination. But this? This stinks to high heaven. I have serious doubts that this was a suicide in the sense that she chose to do it alone, made the choice, and carried out the act. I sincerely wonder what really occurred, and what the chain of events truly was.

I agree she was murdered. Woman also prefer a warm bath and a sharp razor to the wrist. Hanging is a guy thing.

I think it was a suicide. She chose dying instead of years of mental torture eventually followed by murder. Those politicians she did business with are the most power-hungry, vicious people on the planet.
