Red-eye Dragoon
I just got back from watching it, it was freaking awesome!
I loved every minute of it.
It has great action, the story is very well presented, great acting and awesome music. Robert Downey Jr. is defiantly Tony Stark.
Who else has seen it?
What did you think of it?
Claizen
I saw it with my dad today. I honestly have to say that it was better than I thought it was going to be. Really loved the special effects, and Iron Man has always been one of my favorite superheroes. I remember there use to be a cartoon of it a long time ago.

Samuel L. Jackson, what the hell?

Oh yeah, did that Iron Man prototype remind you of NWN's Mithral Golem?

I'm in Mongolia and it hasn't come here yet. I was debating whether to download a copy from a torrent site - but since UM.com has a rule not to advocate pirate movies or software, I'll only say that I was debating whether to download a copy from a torrent site.

But really? It was that good?!
Red-eye Dragoon
You're right it does look like a Mithril Golem.
I had really high hopes for the movie from the start, I'm actually kind of surprised that I wasn't even a bit disappointed.

As for the Samuel L. Jackson scene, it completely caught me off guard.

I kept missing the SHIELD references until that scene. I guess he makes a decent choice for Nick Fury.
Uh, the reference to the possibility of an Avengers movie sounds intriguing, but it could be really disappointing if they can't get the same actors to play Iron Man, Spiderman, etc.

I think I may end up watching it again next weekend, since one of my friends couldn't make it tonight.
Yeah, it was that good.
As for downloading a copy of it, it would be worth it to wait for the theatrical release in your country.
You want to see this on a big screen with THX sound.

This movie used the Ultimate version of Nick Fury and there is no other man to play the role considering the comic writers modeled the character after Jackson himself. If you don't know the Ultimate line of comics was introduced in 2000 and is sort of a remake or a modernization of the marvel universe and an updating of the classic stories and characters.

There was a crapload of fan service in this film...from SHIELD to Terrence Howard's "Next time baby" line.

My son and I have been waiting to see this since we saw the trailer on his Transformers dvd...which is a while. It was really good. Personally, I could have used a bit more crash/booms/kablooies and maybe a bit more superhero-ing. But as usual, I just waved my hand at it and enjoyed it grin2.gif Robert Downey makes a pretty good action hero. If you can spare two hours, I say go see it original.gif

Well, I was quite impressed. I actually did not have that high of hopes for it, quite often the sotry line is sacrificed for the special effects, but, the story line was great, Downey was awesome (of course, he wa the only reason I went to see it). I would highly recommend seeing it.

Eric Raven The Skeptic
It was fantastic. Better than the first Spiderman.

I agree there. I am not such a fan of the Spiderman movies. I am really looking forward to the sequel, it should be a blast, as long as they keep the original stars in it.

Edit: 'cause I can't spell.

I can't believe how awesome it was. I was half expecting a Spiderman 3. tongue.gif

Though he could have attacked a few more weapon sites for the terrorists... That was freaking wicked! grin2.gif
Ghost Ship
Im going to go see this movie now. Nothing but good ratings from everyone.

You'd better see for yourself, eh? Doesn't sound like you'll take anyone's opinion. That's fine, but why did you even post, if you only trust yourself?

I'm looking forward to seeing Iron Man in the theater, personally.

good grief ,, rude much ,

if they did not like transformers for the reasons i gave , i would be likely to be in harmony with their opinion of similar films.

The scenes that are fast paced blur a bit but it's at the right moments I think from what I fully remember. But the action scenes are pretty clear over all. I had no complaints over it.

Definately a fantastic movie, that's nearly up to the standard of Batman Begins. It only goes for just under 2 hours but fits everything in nicely, with nothing rushed or drawn out too long. I`m eagerly anticipating the sequel. thumbsup.gif
Hit the Lights
I haven't seen it yet, so any of the people who have want to spoil it for me and tell me when Institutionalized by Suicidal Tendencies is played?
Quill
I came.
I saw.
I frickin' enjoyed it.

I had to restrain myself from jumping up and shouting "WOO! YEAH! BOOYA!" throughout the movie.
I've never had to do that.
Lots of action, explosions, guns and bombs...I think this movie is made of win. Heck yes. yes.gif

On a side note, I bet Burger King is going to have more sells... laugh.gif
Camozotz
I saw it a few days ago. The movie was AMAZING. I wasnt the least bit disappointed.

Yes, it was in the movie. Not sure how its a spoiler though tongue.gif

As for worth seeing, I liked this movie alot more than Transformers. I thought the writing for the storyline was better. Transformers' was incredibly generic ohmy.gif

Sweetpumper
Right up there with Batman Begins and X-Men. Excellent.

Iron-Man 2 and Thor are slatted for 2010, Captain America in 2011, and The Avengers for 2012. It looks like whoever plays Captain America is going to be filming two movies at once.

Marvel wants to set up the characters in solo movies before the team up.

Also there should be another Avengers nod after the Incredible Hulk credits so look for that.
