I'm strictly a sports gamer, so if I'm playing games it's usually baseball (MLB 2K8), basketball (NBA, College Hoops 2K8), and football (Madden, NCAA, ESPN NFL 2K5). I was wondering if anyone else on here who likes playing 'em.
If not, I'll go get a life.

Yes!!! I love playing the NCAA Football series. Their better than Madden.

Same here. I'm more of a fan of college football than I am of pro football, even though I love both. That's why I enjoy playing the NCAA series more.
Both installments this year look pretty solid so far, and everyone (who plays these games anyway) knows that both needed a ton of improvements in the presentation and gameplay departments.

However, I'll probably get tired of him if the commentating gets repetitive early. Not a big deal though, because NBA 2K is the best (sports) series of them all IMO.

I mainly play sports games. Lately MLB '08: The Show has been taking up all of my time.
I really dislike EA sports games, especially madden, but for some reason i'm excited about madden 09. Hopefully it doesn't disappoint.

The Show is excellent! It's too bad that I have a 360, because I'd GLADLY take that over MLB 2K8 any day (absolutely loved 07, which I played on my PS2).

I bought a PS3 specifically for The Show. My 360 has been acting up lately, so I don't even bother with it anymore, thus making the PS3 my main console.

Yeah, getting a PS3 sounds like a good idea nowadays, since I only play sports games and would be able to play all the other games I do on 360, in addition to The Show 08 (which I want badly).

The bad thing about the PS3 is, (especially sports games) games that are multi-platform always seem to look better and run much smoother on the 360. Hopefully the developers figure the PS3 out soon so that is no longer an issue.

Well, according to the developers of the NCAA and Madden games, both should run and play just as well on PS3 as it does on 360 this year. As for the other games, I have no idea.
Like you, I'm not really a fan of EA football. I play because I like football games and there are no alternatives. Like I said in this thread, they really need to fix things up when it comes to presentation and gameplay. I'm not falling for the hype ever agan if they can't even put in stuff that was on the last/current gen versions.
There IS a little hope though, because Madden (NCAA as well) does look good.

Thats good to hear. Hopefully both games run well on the PS3.
As far as there being no alternatives. That is true if you MUST have an NFL game, but last year I picked up 2k's "All Pro Football 2k8". I must say, gameplay wise, it was probably the best football game i've ever played. I'm hoping they release another one this year with some sort of franchise mode.

I have yet to play All Pro Football, though I would like to. I like what I've seen from videos and reviews.
I'm sure I can pick it up though, now that it's probably pretty cheap.

Now its only.....$20? At least I think it is. The online play for 360 is GREAT.

I have Madden 08 and NBA 2K8 for the 360
I have NCAA Football 08 for the PS3.
I like sports games don't get me wrong, but it sucks to have to shell out 60 bucks year after year for the same game just to have updated rosters and a few changes here and there.

I don't like that All Pro Football, I've never played it but it just doesn't seem good to me.

Srry i just don't see the point of playing sports games if you can just go outside and play the sport for real
Just a thought.

It's possible to do both.
