Here's my abduction story.

One summer, when I was twelve years old, I spent about two weeks visiting and staying with my grandparents at their lakefront home near Worcester, Massachusetts like I did every year. I loved staying there. They had a house right on the water on a big old lake. I would swim, fish, boat, and play with my cousins and friends on the lake everyday and there was no place I would have rather been. Life was very good to me up to that point.

I would always sleep on a second floor porch which was about 15 feet above the surface of the lake and almost always had a nice breeze on warm summer nights. I'd always plan on waking up at first light to go bass fishing.

Then one night, I suddenly woke up from a deep sleep and sat right up for some reason, not knowing why. My heart was racing.

I looked out at the sky and the moon had risen while I was sleeping. It seemed as bright a night as I had ever seen. Although, only a 1/2 moon, it brightly lit up the sky and the trees surrounding the lake as moonlight reflected off the lightly rippled water in front of me. I was amazed at the big halo around the moon and how big and bright the stars looked. It was a remarkebly beautiful night.

As I looked out, I noticed a bright looking star seemed to be moving, just over the hills on the other side of the lake, about 2 miles away. As I watched it slowly rose up, directly over the peak of the highest hill. It also seemed to slowly be getting brighter and brighter.

Eventually it stopped raising up over the hill, and after a pause, it started going back down again. Then suddenly, it was getting much brighter and the intensity of the light started to really freak me out. My heart began to race a bit once again.

I had recently discussed the topic of UFO's and aliens with my friends and had decided I would want to be abducted if only I was not harmed and could remember the experience.

The light was getting brighter and brighter and now was in front of the hill and heading directly at me. The now extremely bright white light was reflecting off the water and formed a giant bright white light column. The large open screened windows had a light breeze blowing through the screens, but it was extremely quiet. Earily silent.

This thing was now over the water at the same height as me, and definately heading directly for me. The whole porch was lit up with this amazing white light. It was surreal. I remember feeling almost a sense of pride almost that I had been 'chosen' like I had said I wanted. Man, would that thinking change.

As it approached I wondered if anyone else on the lake was seeing this. It was the middle of the night so I thought probably not, but I could only hope. Now I could sense that the aliens were not only looking right at me, but they could defintately read my very thoughts.. So I'm being very brave and am thinking, 'yes take me, I'll go, I'll cooperate'... I thought everything would be OK.

Then the light got so intensely bright that I had to close my eyes and turn away to keep from being blinded. The light seemed to penetrate through everything, the branches and leaves of the trees, the structure of the porch, everything. Even turned away, with my eyes closed it was bright. My adreniline was pumping, this was it!

Now, I sensed the thing to be no more then 50 feet or so in front of me now. I'm standing up, grabbing for my pants, blinded, and it is still as quiet as could be, not a hint of an engine. Then just before contact the craft turned, a loud and thunderous thap, thap thap, thap sound, blasted out. The bright light dimmed almost completely and the Helicopter turned and flew away back the way it came! Loud! Wow, what an experience.

Better than the real thing likely-no probing.

So what is the point of this story? huh.gif

Fun story, now do you wish it had been an alien craft or are you glad it was just a helicopter?

I reckon it shows you can be totally convinced that you are undergoing an extraterrestrial experience when can actually be quite explainable. And you're not always going to see the helicopter in the end.

I would've titled it "My UFO sighting/experience/encounter" than, rather than throw the abduction claim into the title for no reason. Still gets the same point across.

I was just disappointed there was nothing about an actual abduction part despite it being in the title. mellow.gif

I guess I was hoping for more. rofl.gif

Just another example of how an unidentified flying object can have very earthly origins.

Well, I never did get abducted, but at that moment I thought that was what was going to happen. LOL. Sorry it is such a let down of an ending, but that's the way it happened. I do appreciate the feedback. It was fun to write it out after all these years.

Mr.Dot
I was really getting into the story and then got thrown back to reality at the end thumbsup.gif

It shows how easley people can exaggerate and be manipulated by events, and if you find out the truth. Then it all becomes silly tongue.gif

This is the problem with all Alien UFO/abduction & whatever experiences.
Rock Slinger
If the helicopter had instantly vanished, say by flying directly over me, and had I not finally heard or recognized the sound of the propellers, I would still be talking about my UFO/sighting/encounter likely. The helicopter was a real beauty by the way. It had a large all glass dome front and was otherwised all blacked out, kind of like the Scottrade commercial without the lettering. It flew back to that highest hill from whence it came and hovered over there for a while, like it was searching or touring the site from the air, using its search lights etc.. I believe that hill was the location for one of the early DIGITAL Computer office buildings. I assume it was some CEO or VIP out for a joyride, or some mad security detail or something. Definately seemed to be hot dogging it as he was flying way below the tree line while over the water and was moving at a pretty good clip. Did a hell of a turn at the end and absolutely nailed me with those crazy bright high beams/search lights! wink2.gif

I was disappointed it was just a helicopter but in hindsight am greatful for the safe experience. I have always been interested in UFO's before and since, and it may have solidified my interest in the subject.

When me and two of my funniest buddies would go snowboarding we would often 'abduct', the fourth person on the quad chairlift. We would tell whoever it was that we had some important questions for them.. Then we would ask them if they had the opportunity to go back in time, as far or near as they wanted, but might not be able to come back where would you go and why. We would say if your answer was good enough we might just be able to make it happen. One of us would usually offer something along the lines of, "You know all those alien abductions stories you always hear about?... Well... That's us,... from the future... The alien outfits are just to throw people off... " We almost always got great answers, and it made the chairlift rides a whole source for entertainment.

I can only imagen this guy coming down the slope at breakneck speed to tell the other people what had happened to him on the mountain. tongue.gif

Truly sounds like a lot of fun.

Lt_Ripley
good story. but if you couldn't hear long before let alone at a measly 50 feet the sound a helicopter makes you may want to get your hearing checked.

Yea, how did you not hear it? huh.gif

It was 30 years ago so my memory may have have embellished the eery silence a bit... LOL. That's how I remembered it. I probably did hear it before it turned but didn't recognize and/or acknowledge it and my memory was of silence when in fact it couldn't have been... unless it was somehow traveling 770 MPH, the speed of sound which I believe is impossible for a helicopter.. It did all happen pretty fast and it definately was eerily silent to some point wink2.gif

I was disapointed that I did not get the true alien abduction adventure that I said I wanted as a kid. I was and still am glad that it happened though because it was a very cool experience with no harm done.

The ski slope quad chair abduction thing is when you have an open seat and a single person get's put with the other three. Us three then proceeded to 'interview' the person on the way up the mountain. We called it abduction because the person was literally trapped on the lift with us for 10-20 minutes sometimes. If that is any clearer.. I am trying to recall the best answers we got like:

"I would go back to when Jesus was walking in the desert and offer him a glass of water"

Some people would be real serious and talk about going back to spend more time with or save the lives of loved ones... The vast majority said they would want to get rich off the deal by investing or betting on known outcomes etc... greedy b******* those humans you know grin2.gif

Well, here is another possibility: What if what you saw was a real UFO, that you were really abducted and then, in order for you to not remember, they made a helicopter sound at the end so you would think what you actually witnessed was just a helicopter !!!

Oh no !!!! ohmy.gif

That's a very slight possibility. Great special effects might have done the trick! It certainly felt like I was being targeted and scanned... Made for perfect cover for those sneaky little ET's.. huh.gif rolleyes.gif

Well, here is a freaky incident that happened to me a few years ago and that kinda ties in with this "theory":

I live in a suburb and every few days I hear a helicopter go by our neighborhood. I hear the sound of it approaching, then it goes over my house and soon enough the sound dissipates.

One morning in May 2002, I was asleep and the somewhat familiar sound of a helicopter or low-flying plane slowly growing louder kinda half woke me up. In my daze I took for granted this was the very familiar sound of that helicopter. But then I noticed the sound was constantly growing in intensity and was very polyphonic. In other words, it sounded more like an armada of helicopters or planes than a single one.... and the sound kept increasing.

As I felt there was something not quite right about that sound, I woke myself up fully and at that moment became aware that the sound was not motor or jet-like but electronic - like that of a synthesizer. In fact, I was so surprised by this that I began to try and listen for any kind of familiar sound to reassure me that this was in fact some conventional aircraft, but I could find none. At this point, I began to get seriously concerned because the sound kept increasing in intensity and this sound had been there for way longer than it would take for a helicopter or plane to go by my house. I looked around and realized that all the windows in the house were shut but it felt like the sound was inside the house and all the windows were open !

The sound went on increasing and, as hard as I tried, I simply could not pick out any characteristic of this sound that was like a regular aircraft. By then, the sound had become so loud that I began to panic. And, at this very moment, the sound went down in intensity. As soon as the sound died down, my alarm clock rang ! I did try to take a look out my bedroom window but there was a cloud cover and I could see nothing.

Since then I have been attentively listening to every plane or helicopter that goes by and have not heard anything that sounded even remotely like that. Just recently however, I saw a documentary on UFOs that included old footage about a UFO flap during the sixties in England and one person described a UFO encounter that sounded like "a helicopter was just hovering right on top of our house". Also, I heard about an abduction story where the abductee described hearing a sound "like a thousand airplanes"...

But I don't think I was abducted... At least, I hope not ! blink.gif no.gif dontgetit.gif
