Does anyone know what verses of the Bible can be used as exorcisms? I don't have a specific need for it right now, but I was just wondering, in case I may need it in the future. If there aren't really in the Bible, can you link me some websites, or good books to check out? I see that people leave posts saying that they know some but won't tell others, because they think they'll do something bad with it. (Even though it saves people's lives, if they believe in it) Whatever. Just let me know anything you know. Thanks!
Clovis
Exorcisms in my view should not be attempted by anyone just off a few Bible scriptures. Spiritual warfare is dangerous and only those strong in the Spirit should even attempt it. It is not something they go around looking to do either but if they happen to be in the right place at the right time they can. There is not even a need to lay their hands on the person at all or even bind them with anything at all. Prayer is the most effective weapon of any believer to battle demons especially possessions. Rebuking the demon(s) in Jesus name. Binding them through the power and authority of Christ and commanding them to depart someone for they no longer have dominion over them and sending them back to hell is the final stage of an exorcism. Some people will even open windows so they can flee or chase after them with rags after they leave someone but I find that unnecessary precaution or showmanship respectively. It is not even good to have those weak in the Spirit or lacking it completely to even be in attendance of an exorcism for the demons who like the flesh will seek another host. This is just one view partly based on New Testament examples of how the disciples cast out demons as practiced by some Pentecostals. There of course is other methods but none that I subscribe to.

Catholics I believe use certain biblical passages but do not quote me. The link below has general information but nothing specifically about what you asked.

- If you are gonna do this yourself that could be a very dangerous route. People should not underestimate those powers. To do an exorcism, you would have to cleanse yourself of all sins, while walk in complete faith. These things take a lot of (psychological/emotional/mental/ and especially SPIRITUAL) preparation!! I think too, to impose any threat to the enemy you should be given that right through the proper authorities. IMO. There is also a special knowledge on how to fight these battles that few have.
I suspect you don't or else you wouldn't come here asking those questions, or else you have already known these things.

Exorcism isn't a game.. it's spiritual warfare-- it can be & often is dangerous to the one exorcising, and to the one being exorcised.

Okay, thanks guys. I've actually been researching all paranormal/demonic phenomena/creatures, for about a year now, and have been making a "diary" of all the stuff I learn. No offense by this Clovis, but I'm a little beyond wikipedia definitions of exorcisms. I just thought it would be helpful to have exorcisms in there as well. I really can't find any just from google searches so I thought I'd try posting it here. Thanks for the info though. If anyone else knows any other info to help that'd be great as well. Thanks.
Clovis
Aye, no offense taken. Just was not sure how much knowledge you already had and just from your OP I assumed you had none.

Here is another link from Catholic World News regarding exorcism but as the first link I offered it is nothing specific and just a place to get started. I cannot help but emphasize the warning given by Shankpin not to take this lightly but everyone will do as they wish in the end.

Actually, that article is great. I actually vaguely remember this story on the news or something very similar. Years ago I caught a quick headline about priests being taught exorcisms in the Vatican, on the news. I remembered this about a week ago when I began searching for real exorcisms. I thought about this newscast and wondered how much effect this idea actually took on. Now you showing me this article is pretty ironic. Thanks!
Clovis
I remember Coast 2 Coast AM broadcast an interview with an exorcist from the Catholic church, Malachi Martin. He has appeared more than once. If you google 'coast 2 coast am exorcism' (without the quotes) it will offer a few hits including a working torrent if you know how to DL torrents. The second link also has mention of Bob Larson. Hopefully you will keep us in mind and post now and then regarding your findings for informational purposes.

Perfect, Thanks again! I definently will come back to this thread if I find any interesting things!

.............<<>> Be very careful when dealing in this area. Only believers in Jesus Christ that are bought by his blood, have the power to deal with demons. Demons are very, very wise. They know who is under the protection of Jesus Christ and who is not. If you are not a believer and don't follow Jesus Christ. Then don't mess with someone who is possessed by a Demon or Demons. As you can be hurt very badly. In the book of Acts there is a true story about the seven sons of (Sceva). They saw Paul one of Jesus Apostles casting out Demons. So they thought they could do it to. But they were not believers in Jesus. In other words they were sinners not Christians who were followers of Jesus Christ. Here is the story. (Acts.19:11-20)- verse-13- We exorcise you by the Jesus whom Paul preaches. 14- Also there were seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, who did so. verse-15- and the evil spirit answered and said Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you. verse- 16- Then the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, over-powered them and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. I studied in Spiritual Warfare and Demon and Demonology for 13 years. It is nothing like the movies. Every believer in Jesus Christ has the power to cast out Demons. (Mark.16:14-20) verse- 17- And these signs will follow those who believe: In My/Jesus they will cast out Demons. The only thing in our present time. Most of all the Christian People I talk to are terrified of this type of ministry. Because they don't understand it and the power We Christians have over Demons. This is why there is only a few Christians who deal in this area as I do. And as far as verse to use against demons it help to know all the Word of God. If you have any question feel free to ask. I will try to answer them the best I can. You can also PM me if you want. If you want your answer posted here so other can see what goes on in Spiritual Warfare. I will post them here, because a Demon exposed is a demon defeated................Joey.

I'm very curious Tiki, why do you want or need to know about exorcisms?

lol I always loved that scripture and it always reminded me of when Senator Bentsen told Dan Quayle this at the vice presidential debates in 1988: Senator, I served with Jack Kennedy: I knew Jack Kennedy; Jack Kennedy was a friend of mine. Senator, you're no Jack Kennedy.

There are many religions that are able to perform exorcisms though but the methods we use vary with those. The second exorcism link I posted above has many of them. I myself would never recommend anyone but someone with the Spirit to perform an exorcism but I do recognize other cultures have their methods and some existing before the dawn of Christianity.

There are even some types of demons even the disciples could not cast through their efforts for only prayer could cast that kind out:

QUOTE
Mark 9:28 And when he had entered the house, his disciples asked him privately, "Why could we not cast it out?" 29 And he said to them, "This kind cannot be driven out by anything but prayer."

Very good information in regards to the one individual I posted their remarks in relation to the topic of exorsism's. As scripture (the Bible) clearly indicates that "we wrestle not with flesh and blood, but with powers and principalities". Satan is alive and well, and is the prince and power of the air--meaning down here on earth. As a Christian myself, I have had personal experiences with demons and none of them were a pleasant time--to say the least. John 3:16.

I'm very curious Tiki, why do you want or need to know about exorcisms?

Well... I said in an earlier post... that for about a year I have been reseaching and recording tons of information in a "diary" about the paranormal. I thought having exorcisms in there as well would just go along with the entire thing. I'm not going to play around with it, nor do I ever want to have to use it but, every site I ask for info on, people tell me it's "too dangerous." I'm not some little kid running around summoning demons, but knowing an exrocism would, to tell you the truth, make me feel safer in researching this stuff, because, just in case, I'd then know how to deal with it. Why get involved in these ideas, if you're only a target, and can't fight off stuff. To me, learning an exorsism, or great ideas on how to ward off demons, seems like the first step you should take. You need to know how to stay safe, first. It almost seems worse not educating people on here about this, because it's way easier to get summoning rituals, than exorcisms. If you bring something into the world, you sure as hell better know how to get it out. Anyways, let me know any other info you guys have, even if you're still hesitant about trusting me.

P.S: I'm not trying to offend anyone or force them into telling me stuff they don't think should be known. I just giving my opinions, and gathering as much info as I can. Thanks.
SurfinTiki39
Okay. Clovis gave me some information before, and through links, I found something pretty interesting. Clovis wanted me to add some stuff if I found any so here it is:

http://video.aol.com/video-detail/john-saf...cism/3534326622

I want to see what others think of the video. Some people have probably seen it before, but I'd really like to hear some opinions. Do you think it's real or fake? Does the Bob Larsen, the exorcists, seem over paranoid? Anyway, let me know. Thanks
Clovis
I think it is real as far as people believing what they are doing. Bob Larsen's approach is shared by many as well as his views. Not to detract from his work but my honest opinion and view is that he is going about it all wrong. It seems a production is being made out of it, not the fact of the cameras were there, even if they were not it seems like a show. There should not be an audience spectating an exorcism in case someone is not spiritually fortified enough and in turn might be susceptible. It is not as if the power of God cannot work as strong through a few and needs so many. The prayer occurring was very minimal which prayer is the first life of defense and thus offense as well. The exorcist is attributing what demons the victim has in a sense he is actually prescribing them. Just because someone did something does not instantly mean they have a demon.

Just because there is a demon in someone does not mean it is the same one that was there Israelites danced to the golden calf or were at the concentration camps at WW2. While it is possible how does he know? Even if it is fascinating an exorcist usually does not claim such or even ask the demon to find out if that was so. The main purpose is not gaining knowledge or showing knowledge but ridding a demon.

Asking a demon its name and asking it to leave is another matter and not what was being done. Jesus asked what legion's name was but did not attempt to identify each of the demons that compose legion.

His approach overall appears to legalistic. His tone of talking to demons and addressing them seems to lack the authority from God and the faith that God will take care of it but instead attempts to wield that power and take that authority for himself. Pressing a Bible to someone's head as almost like a weapon just does not seem appropriate in the least. Forcing someone to drink holy water seems a gimmick. I suppose I am a critic and in my honest opinion not everyone requires an exorcism as he stated. Prayer cleanses and is capable of cleansing mostly everything demonic related. My highest criticism will be that the demons are just participating in the 'show' of it all.

I have no doubt there is actual spirits at work there and the exorcist and those in the audience really believe what they are doing is right. Unfortunately they are all being played IMHO.
