Hello, Unexplained-Mysteries forum goers
As you may or may not know, I am interested in the occult, paranormal, Cryptozoology, and basically anything to remotely do with ghosts. Video Games, Books, Movies, I love strange stuff.

Well, I have a true opporutunity to have a ghostly experience.
Connecticut Valley Mental Hospital's Cotter building is on an Native American (Mattabasek, or however you spell it, was Middletown before it's name change) burial ground. I am planning to go there.

As you may or may not know, I have a YouTube show, called D.A.M. and it is quite bad. We have no subject material, no good ideas, and it's just a bad show in general, I understand that. However I have an idea for a subject: the thing me and "Dante" share in common. The Paranormal.

With that out of the way, do you all understand?
I am planning to make the Connecticut Valley Mental Hospital Cotter Building- Our first paranormal case.
Hopefully this wont end up like the Blair Witch Project eh? eh? Ah, a joke...Maybe my last?

All joking aside: I need to know our target (Cotter Building), therefore, I need pictures. So, that is all I ask. Advice would help too, but it's not obligatory. Anyway: post pictures and info if you can find some.

Thanks:
NESSIEMAN

Here's an aerial view. Don't know which is the Cotter building though.

here is a pic of the water something or other, installed in the maintenance building. It's the only interior pic I could find.

You are aware that the CVH fire department is in the Cotter building right?

How do u know it's on a Native Burial ground?
Nessieman23
Saturday night is when we are going. We will tape for our new and improved DAM.
And thanks a lot everyone, I never knew this site would be THAT helpful...
Ah, and I need Exterior pics, because we must know where to go.
It'd help if somebody here worked at CVH...

Thanks, but if it's the big complex one, that could be a problem...It's covered by a dome gate to stop the patients from climbing it.

So, you are going in to a functioning, active, filled with patients mental hospital (or whatever the PC term for it is now) to see if you can find ghosts?

Good grief.

UPDATE:

May, 6th, 5:00
Ah, I finally found the Cotter Building. Me and "Dante" were walking around (I got a bit singed by a steam vent), and we were peering into buildings (I know it's bad, but still...) and we found this building, with the "water or something or other" that Jennie mentioned. It had multiple machines, the same type of floor, AND windowing, which is the single most perfect thing that can happen.

Im bored, so I will answer some of your questions/fill in the blanks for some of your statements.

1) It's "Mental Patient Hospital" not Patients Mental Hospital
2) Yes, yes we are.

1) If I get any evidence...The building had a creepy feel though.

Recent research reveals that the Cotter Building at CVH was originally the site of an Indian burial ground. Local Indians had a village overlooking the Ct. River before the arrival of white men. This explains the often heard strange noises, chanting, drumbeats, lights turning on and off, and doors opening and closing on their own accord. Mists have been reportedly seen moving about inside of the firehouse portion.
It says the Cotter building was ORIGINALLY on Indian Burial grounds (meaning the Natives were here before us, obviously)
2) I may check that out also...

May, 08, 2008:

One more day until the big day.
We are fully prepared.
Perfectly ready.
This is what we have:
Voice Recorder x2
Camera x2
Video camera x2 (you know how cameras usually have a video function nowadays)

So, tell me if I need anything else, if any one is reading this

You might want to read this Nessie before you go.

http://www.cga.ct.gov/2007/rpt/2007-R-0330.htm

It gives all the information on the hopitals very own police force and the fire department which is housed in the Cotter building.

Good luck!!!!!!! wink2.gif
Jennie 1
That was awesome!!!!!
Thanks for posting it primordial!!!! thumbsup.gif
Nessieman23
Yes, I could put that onto my PSP when I go, and listen to it on the walk there. You scared me though. I fast forwarded...And my volume was max.
LadyHay
For the record, here in Canada they are called psychiatric hospitals or mental health hospitals. "Mental Patient" -anything is pretty UN-PC. thumbsup.gif

Haha...Not quite yet. Im going to go out with my friends all day today...So, that should be fun, just keep occupied, Saturday will come soon enough
WARRIOR FOR THE LIGHT
Ive been waiting anxiously...What did you find?
supervike
Sorry, traipsing around a mental facility, that still has residents there, to play at being a ghost hunter is completly tasteless. My apologies if I have that wrong, but just reading the text you are providing, that is what I've gathered.

What's next, haunting an old folks home? Terrorizing a pre-school?
Nessieman23
Nothing, and yes, we are going to terrorize a pre-school. (The Cotter Building is the maintenance, not the actual patient dormitories)

Yes everyone, we got nothing. We didnt even go up there. Matt and Sean saw 1 car, and turned around. Of course, Sean had all the equipment (I woulda went alone otherwise), and he went back.

However, we are going to REAL ghost hunting.
D.A.M.P.- DAM Paranormal
We'll start out small, i.e. My House. (not 100% sure though)
And then we'll go back to CVH.
Gothgurl11
I'm sorry...I don't understand why you turned around after seeing a car.
