hi everybody! just stopped in to say hi
I've read and studied about micro-finance and its strength to empower people worldwide. I often thought about venturing into this venue; but, alas, I'm too selfish. By that I mean, I want to produce enough wealth to support my family in a way that suits my comfort and my upbringing - not rich by any means, but comfortable enough to go EAT SUSHI or FRENCH or KOREAN food once a month or so. I also like gadgets - photography and astronomy are both relatively expensive hobbies.
But I expect that if I can get enough money in the bank where I could do these things, and save a little for the offspring, I'd be first in line to start my own little micro-finance bank.
Sadly, I am a capitalist first. Well, realistically, I just NEED the wherewithal to be INDEPENDENT first, before I can even contemplate going about to produce for others in the altruistic sense...
But KUDOS to all who give and give and give. Me, I gave a lot in my twenties and thirties. Now I'm 43, broke, with a wife and two kids (and hopefully one or two more in the future). I need to produce for me and them first - then the community, and then the world at large...
S&ITE: I was responding to the micro-finance banner that appeared on this page. Maybe my diatribe is misplaced?
