this city was real but maybe not in the sense people think of it. yes there where temples of gold and multiple houses. There where 2 documented befor cortez stole and gave it to spain...... The moon and Sun temple. this city was located 4 hours south of what is today mexico city its still there today. the funny part is cortez slaughtered and left with all the gold (or so he thought) one temple was hidden..and the gold remained until 1890 when it was excavated and now some of it is in museums.(like here in chicago) the first mexicans came from aztec indians who lived in el dorado. the first mexican was actually german spaniard and aztec, greman because a mexican woman was raped by a salior who was german and spaniard. she bore a son and unlike many he stayed to take care of it and that was the first mexican. this is told in many mexican schools because it is documented history. and im tierd of people saying mexicans are aztecs because they are more then that. its not the same.

Wow, all I can say is when I travel south of the border there are a lot of "Mexicans" there and they don't seem to carry any German blood. Some Spanaird blood for sure, but I would be willing to bet every dollar I have that if we do a test on their mitochondrial dna they don't all come from a single woman who was raped by a German/Spanaird.

actually in the small mexican towns such as San Loues Poto Si. Chewecante. and even San Phelipe. there are alot of mexican /germans who can be traced back to aztec ancestors. no but that was the 1st mexican i never said it was the only one... many of the spaniars/germans and aztecs fell in love or had sexual relations

I don't understand the phrase "more than that". I HATE to sound p.c. but, as I understand it, Aztec culture (along with a number of other native American cultures) was pretty much on a par with European & Mediterranean cultures. Lately they've even found evidence that agriculture developed in South America around the same time that it did in the Middle East.

Are you saying that the population of Mexico wasn't Mexican until someone made it with a European?

yes actually i am becasue its ture the "mexican" we know today wasnt what mexican was then nor is american. indians here where pushed off and made to live in camps. same there only if you find someone with 100% aztec blood in them(not likely) then you would find them in the anceint cities giveing tours. so something happend at the same tpime are u saying native americans here are middle eastern cause it all almost happend at the same time. although there is proof the first poeple here where asian

Do you think that EVERYONE in Mexico has European blood? The major culture there is a mix of European and native American tradition but I think a lot of Mexicans are pure native American. I'm sure that mtDNA evidence could tell us the truth one way or the other. I have a friend in Maryland who is a full blooded Cherokee and he's American (a citizen of the USA, fully integrated into the culture and all that). I think when we use terms like Mexican and American we're making a cultural and political reference rather than a genetic one.

I don,t think that WEREGIRL666 is implying that the native populations were somehow less than their europeon counterparts i think she,s just pointing out the bigger picture.
When Cortez first came to south america he burn,t his ships, as a result his men were highly motivated, so much so that they pretty much slaughted everyone in sight. Six MILLION People to be precise
as a result they spent years and years there and being men they needed. er.... "boom boom" so to speak. And Where theres boom boom theres always babies and its these babies that repopulated the region

I am Hispanic and prefer to be labeled as such or as an American. I've been to Mexico a few times since it's only about a couple of hours away ( I live in Texas). My blood goes back to Spain and Germany originally. I am a second generation American and my mother is a first generation. My grandparents came to America in the early 1900's. My father is also a first generation American and my grandparents on his side came over at about the same time as my other grandparents. I do not consider myself "Mexican", but I also do not get bent out of shape if someone calls me one since my roots go through Mexico. It is hard to what traits come from what though. My hair is dark brown on my head and various other places (use your imagination), but the hair on my arms are blond (people think I shave my arms since you can barely see any hair). My eyes are brown, but some of my aunts and uncles have green, blue and hazel eyes. One of my aunts is a redhead as well, but we are still questioning who her father actually was...lol j/k....it's a joke between the family since she was the only redhead until my cousin from another uncle had a redheaded child, but both her and her husband are neither redheads and the tests showed he is the father (yup...another accusation of infidelity...lol). Well, all that matters is that we are all human and share somewhere deep down a common ancestor. original.gif
