So this story comes from the Pastor's wife from the church that I go to. My mom told me about this about a year ago or so and I found it weird/amusing so I thought I'd share this here to see what people think of this bizarre encounter.

So my pastor & his family live in Burbank, in a community near the top of some hills here in California. So it was a typical day and the Pastor's wife, (I'll call her Jill), was walking around the house and she walked into her bedroom. She said she saw a small man/midget standing there in the room near the window. She's not one to get startled easily but she was nonetheless baffled as to what a small man was doing in her bedroom. So she proceeded to politely ask him who he was and what he was doing there. The small man didn't respond but just stared at her for a few moments. She says that he then saw the man raise his arms and he levitated and flew slowly out her window. She did find this strange and told her husband about it. Of course he thought she had just imagined the whole thing, seeing as how midgets don't just appear out of nowhere and then just fly off.

Please note that the above is how she describes the events so far.

So a couple of weeks go by and they are watching television when they tune into a show on UFOs. Jill rarely watches television so she doesn't know anything about UFO's and has much less seen a show on it. Anyway, they're watching the show and a few seconds later they show a picture of an alien(typical alien, picture with the huge head, and large black eyes, etc.) At this point she starts yelling saying that the alien being shown on tv, is the same "small man/midget" that she had seen in their bedroom!!! She had never seen a picture of an alien before so she had no idea that what she had seen in her bedroom was actually an alien. Which is why she didn't get scared and instead just started talking to him/it as though he were a person, albeit a strange looking one, but keep in mind that she doesn't get scared easily.

I personally find it kind of funny seeing as how the whole story comes together, her not knowing or being scared only to later find out what she had seen and finally being terrified. Don't get me wrong but I would've ran out as soon as I saw an alien standing in front of me.

How does one mistake an alien being for a human little person?

I mentioned in the post that she doesn't watch tv, hence she didn't know what an alien looked like. To her he just seemed like a short little man, a strange looking one. That's what she described him as when she still didn't know what she had seen.

Welcome to the forums! A second, or in this a case, a third hand account of an alien doesn't hold much weight. All I can say is, your Pastor's wife sounds like a lot of fun.

I see your point Razer, but I'm close to the person who experienced this and I can assure you it'd be the same as if it had been told to me. Furthermore, I could easily talk to her and have this become a second hand account but I don't think it's necessary seeing as how everything unfolded and no further clarification is needed. She is not the kind of person to make this sort of thing up and frankly, as you read in the post, there's nothing extraordinary that's hard to believe about the story. Just a simple encounter.

So you can choose to not to believe it as you already do, but I wanted to share it seeing as how it's not the typical everyday encounter.

ok hold everyhting here ! Dont you think it very very very weird that "Jill" who is I dont know how old ? 40's 50's that in her whole life has never ever never ever seen an advertisement or commerical or movie preview or poster or kids toy or show that LOOKED like a gray? and THAT FACT not the sighting is the MOST AMAZING AND UNBELIEVIBLE part....I SAY ITS A BIG LOAD OF BS. Sorry. I believe the preachers wife had dipped into a little of the "holy" water that day and was having a "heavenly" experience...you think?

well, I wouldn't be rude about it... it's possible.. she's telling the truth (believes it) and possible that she is describing events which took place in objective reality.
Although testing didn't take place.
But... I don't think anyone can deny the image of Grey alien is part of popular culture (cultural pollution).
The reason why is most-likely more complicated than people think.
ie non linear, but a combinations of delusion, imagination, intelligent speculation.. and dare I say... real accounts; all being sucked in, into the collective popular culture.
It's only through other details... another person can determine whether the events happened. well, (using probability)

If I didn't watch television and I saw this alien in my bedroom, I would have thought it was a monster, not a man. It would have scared the heck out of me.

That was my point, anyone with a degree of inteligance would be able to tell the differance between an alien and a small person. And just because a person does not watch tv does not mean they are amune to media. The abduction and ufo phenomenon, really permeated and got alot of hype everywhere, through all kinds of channels, including word of mouth especially in the u.s.......................................... wink2.gif

The part I find weirdest is she never mentioned any clothes, and aren't Greys often portrayed as naked or wearing futuristic clothing? I don't know what I would find more disturbing, a naked alien, or an alien which I confused with a midget wearing skintight clothing.

She might have been under the impression the dwarfisim is somehow congruous with deformation; phyisical oddities. Thus she thought the little man was only a dwarf but then made the connection when that kind of looking dwarf was really an alien as described on the show.
