The charge from the school district — Wizardry!

Substitute teacher Jim Piculas does a 30-second magic trick where a toothpick disappears then reappears.

But after performing it in front of a classroom at Rushe Middle School in Land 'O Lakes, Piculas said his job did a disappearing act of its own.

"I get a call the middle of the day from the supervisor of substitute teachers. He says, 'Jim, we have a huge issue. You can't take any more assignments

You need to come in right away,'" he said. When Piculas went in, he learned his little magic trick cast a spell that went much farther than he'd hoped.

"I said, 'Well Pat, can you explain this to me?' 'You've been accused of wizardry,' [he said]. Wizardry?" he asked.

Read under the news of the bizarre. Information was lost in the mix and the "wizardry" was the least of the problems that this sub was fired for. Propaganda ... spreading lies through the media. They all do it ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, FOX ... all of them. Sometimes they just print what comes through the AP news wire, but most of the time, they knew what they were printing was false but printed it anyway. Again all of them do it.

The not-so-controversial newstory I read on the same gentleman claims that the 'magic trick' was but a small item in a whole laundry list of examples of not doing his assigned duties. His downfalls include 'not sticking to the cirriculam, not following instructions, and allowing children to use the computer when they were told not to by other teachers'.

The press, of course has to sell its wares, so they sensationalize it to make it sound like this innocent schmo got canned for simply doing a trick.

Besides, he didn't get canned at all....He was a substitute teacher, he just will simply be removed from the substitute teacher list.

Well if it was just for a magic trick this is all foolish and such. There is always two sides to every story and I hope it all gets resolved soon enough. The gentleman in question sort of implied that he was not told of any other inappropriate conduct previously and only found out after he was taken off the substitute teacher list for magic. Gah it is almost too unbelievable to be true but let us wait and see. Hope the media makes additional reports on this one and it is not a mere touch and go story.

Well then the proper way of going about things would have been to talk to this teacher. not wait for him to do a magic trick and fire him! thats outrageous!!!!
