Tonight Sci-Fi channel is showing this movie (at least in my area). They'll probably be forced to do a lot of editing to make it fit ther time slot and commericals. Too bad.

I've seen it on DVD and it's great. Very very sad story too. sad.gif

If you get a chance to see it you should. thumbsup.gif

A member from my group called me to make me...."aware" of this show. I am definitely going to check it out.

LOL... I posted about it in the other section!

How cool is it Thomas Edison was one of the first Ghost Hunters? He invented a device to record EVP's in the 1920's?

I own this dvd & it's a really great documentary. If all the evidence captured is 100%, it's the creepiest things you'll ever see & hear. Some of those evps sent chills through my spine. I recommend this to everyone. Go buy it on dvd 'cause the tv version didnt quite capture the full effect since they had to edit it to fit the 2hrs.

I wasn't overly thrilled. A lot of drama and effects. The last half hour or so was interesting, the "Zombie road" deal. I did think the shadow people kids were interesting.
isis-999
It was ok but i thought it be better sense the Sci-Fi channel was showing it......

WOW Thanks, I watched it and was very impressed with the amount of evidence, teamwork and all around approach. I wish it was on every week LOL>.JN

I don't know. Part was ok part was lame.

I would have set out toys , a swing set , a see saw ...... and kept camera's on it. I'm not sure about EVP's. I think because it would be far too easy to make. It's the lack of control. Psychics can say anything and be close. A couple photos were alright ( still not sure ) but them in the woods ? all walking like some skittish pack and that one head guy giving signals like it was the military ? lmao.

I think with such interesting places and knowing the trauma that went on in most of them. with time and real investigation it could have been so much better.

I have to agree. They used so many jumpy cut scenes, special graphical effects, and music, I couldn't tell if I was watching a program, or the 'advertisement' for one.

After about a half hour of this I had to turn it off, it was so irritating.

Maybe if the editors and post production folks kept their damn hands off of it, as it did look like the subject matter was interesting.

Too much flash, not enough substance.

Exactly how I felt about it.

I could have lived without all the "creepy" effects & cut-scenes too. Some of the evps I couldnt hear what they claimed was saying but all in all it was a good documentary. Sad though... the way those kids died with the milk, that was terrible.

How about the guys in the black military gear. LOL I was wondering if they scared the kid ghosts with those duds, Paranormal task force. LOL I dont think they needed to dress like a task force.
Lady_Boleyn
I watched it, and although the subject about the children was very sad, and the zombie road part was an interesting story, there was too much graphics and drama.
The EVP's and pics weren't impressive either. It was a good documentary, though.

That guy had a bulletproof vest on... Amazing.

I was just wondering why they were telling there story to a bunch of kids in a school? and what school would allow that?

Maybe they had an intense paintball date set up? huh.gif

I must have switched the show off too quickly...I would have liked to see the 'task force gear'.....

OH Wait...sci-fi usually shows things like what, 1000 times before it gets pulled off of rotation?!
LIGhostChick
I definately could have dealt without the dramatics of the "gear" they were wearing. I didnt know ghosts could shoot a gun that would require them wearing bullet-proof vests. That was a little over the top.

The vests were not put on for spirits but for humans. There are still those who want to practice witchcraft and sacrifices, and the police officer warned them what to watch out for. At any point, one of those guys could have been shot, considering the history of that area..JN

I would doubt they went into all the gory details as they did in the full movie.

Could have been for a history class. Maybe a private school.

Give some of the real crap and BS they push on kids in schools today w/o telling parents this stuff is minor. Wouldn't really bother me if my kids were in the class. I might want to sit in that day as well! grin2.gif

I know... it was a joke based on their goofy head to toe military gear... or wanna-be military gear.

The children died with the milk? I only got to see half way into it. The part in the forest with the lasers and the black mass moving through them kind of creeped me out. I still don't see what good bullet proof vests do. If I was a crazy satan worshipper hell bent on killing them I'd be popping head shots. tongue.gif
LIGhostChick
Yeah they used to put formaldahyde (sorry i probably spelled that wrong lol) in the milk as a way to pasturize it. They didnt think anything bad would happen. The vests are a little too much if you ask me laugh.gif

Wow, considering all the unsafe and crazy things people used to do back then I'm surprised the human race has lasted this long, lol.
LIGhostChick
omg i know... that part of the documentary was sad
Jason KB
Some cool stories in the documentary. Some very sad. I would have liked this more had it not been so overproduced, however. Just tell me the damn story, ya know? I don't need the visual effects to pay attention. In fact, they were more distracting than anything.

i was wonderin if any teams were going to try the lazer gridding and if it actually works to an extent.... does anybody know anyone using this and it actually producing results????
LIGhostChick
Our team is doing that on an upcoming investigation that is well known to have alot of shadow people. If what we know about shadow people is true, then you should see them cross the beams on the laser.
openmind1963
wtf is it about?it is'nt a movie based on the black sabbath song is it???
Shakezulah
I DVR'd this when they replayed it today. I actually just started watching it a little while ago. I could only sit through about the first 30 or so minutes before I decided that I had had enough. This thing just sucks. Very over-dramatized and cheesy. All of the added effects and voices made it impossible to take any of it seriously. It also didn't seem to make any sense. There were virtually no transitions between the locations or segments, making it hard to tell exactly what was going on. It was just a bunch of randomly compiled clips of what should've been a good documentary. No one is even on the screen long enough for you to be able to get to know who they are and make you think "okay, I care about what this person has to say". Whoever wrote and edited this crap needs to be slapped in the face.

they broke the beams in the Zombie road production but this is a piece of equipment you get last ,kind of expensive...Keith's group has been around a long time so they have better equipment to work with...

NO its a documentary about orphans, how they were treated back in the day, and the number of deaths etc. The grave markers dont have names but numbers. They did some EVP's and you can clearly hear the children, some in distress and some playing. It was devastating..The last half was about Zombie Road..JN

That segment, it's unclear at all to me if that was actual footage from the investigation or something staged for drama or re-enactment.

I thought it was pretty good -- save for about the first hour or so. The whole nonsense about dressing a kid up like a druid and having her stand in a room trying to communicate with child spirits was absolutely ridiculous! Beyond stupidity! Whenever they include psychics in these documentaries, they shoot themselves in the foot! It's hard for something like the paranormal to be taken seriously -- as as it should be by science -- when they do this kind of nonsense. Only throws a wrench in the works. When will these dolts ever learn?!

As for the shadow people ... Now I found that most interesting. There certainly seems to be something worth investigating there. I think they had some really decent evidence -- particularly the photo. Hopefully it was not a fake. If genuine, I think it certainly shows that something very strange is going on. Quite fascinating. I wish they would do a documentary dedicated solely to this particular subject. I think there's some meat to it.

Most kindly,

Sean
AdorablyDead
Oh man, I forgot that they had the kid dress up. I thought it was wierd that she was wearing..what? Jeans and then a hood? Why not just have her dress up normally?

I don't think it's so bad to include psychics really, as long as you look at it from all angles ya know? Not just rely on one....specifically the psychics. lol. It's not like there's a law against combining science and the occult or whatever word I'm trying to think of. If anything I kinda think that would make your investigation stronger. Just as long as you were objective to the whole thing and tried not to let one directly affect the other or whatnot. I hope someone knows what I'm trying to say because I'm kind of tired. blush.gif
