QUOTE (darkmoonlady @ May 14 2008, 11:55 AM) *
I don't get why people are angry or upset with a talk show host. If you do not like her way of thinking, no one is pointing a gun at your head, forcing you or anyone else to watch.

I find it interesting that there are literally thousands of different christian denominations out there, and if Oprah starts a new one, what is the big deal? There are just as many differences of opinion on why Jesus did this or that, which is why there are different denominations in the first place. People who get upset over things like this, show their own fear and lack of faith. If a talk show host somehow freaks you out or you think they shake your faith, it must not have been that strong to begin with.

well said. and the truth at it's core.

How would you feel if someone saw the Craft one too many times and claimed they were Pagan? They misrepresented your beliefs and then on TV claimed that the goddess and god were this and this and that which were so far from the truth. They wore black all the time and said this is what it is to be a Pagan.

Maybe like me you would not become angry or upset at them but simply try to explain that is not what Paganism is about. No biggie on a personal emotional level but that has nothing to do with Christ of the Bible and there is nothing wrong with explaining it as such. As far as assuming that all Christians are getting angry, if that was your assumption, then I would disagree. For those who do get angry at her well they should have more faith on that point I do agree with you. Indeed it is no reason to become angry or upset when Oprah does the same. Especially in light that the Bible tells us many false prophets shall come preaching a different Christ. That does not affect our own faith in any way whatsoever.

QUOTE
Matthew 24:11 And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray.

QUOTE
2 Peter 2:1 But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction

She can claim on TV for millions to see that Jesus is not the way, the truth, and the light for a Christian and even claim to be a Christian at the same time but some of us know she is not speaking about the Truth.

1. that's your opinion of the truth. hers is hers. . secondly both those verses apply to christianity in general as well.

Actually it is not my opinion it is simply what the Bible states. What she is preaching is not of the Word and therefore is not representative of biblical salvation. She has as much right to do as she wants that is for sure but it is not from the Word and Jesus was the Word made flesh. Her version of Jesus is not the Jesus of the Bible the one which most accept as the real Jesus.

QUOTE
John 12:47 If anyone hears my words and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world. 48 The one who rejects me and does not receive my words has a judge; the word that I have spoken will judge him on the last day.

My message to Oprah lol in all good cheer is this:
