Did anyone happen to watch "The Diabolical" on A Haunting? If so, what did you think? JN

I didn't see it. what was it about? Was it a movie or a tv show?

It was an hour re-enactment on "A Haunting" about a young girl, becoming possessed in a house with a Demon. She was born with birth defects, and couldnt talk or walk. I thought it was pretty compelling and I do love A Haunting..Thanks..JN

Ive never particularly liked this show . overdramatized , poorly acted and when they bring dave consodine in well, it can only go one way . I actually audibally sighed when he showed up lol . I wish he would show some of the evidence he presents to the catholic church . it may give him a little bit more credibilty if he actually had something to show us other than hearsay and witness feelings . something concrete you know .tangible pictures of the ecto he claims to have seen . videos etc etc .. but once again we get nothing .

I thought the mother was way to suggstible . she could have done more to find natural causes for her daughters behaviour before proclaiming it paranormal . we all know once one child starts acting strangely the others will be affected in some way .and since the girl couldnt speak it was the mothers job to find the soloution not make matters worst which imo is exactly what her and her boyfriend did .

So yeah i wasnt impressed really . thanks for sharing though this programme doesn't run here . we only seem to get the one in georgia repeated over and over again

LOL I have seen A Haunting in Georgia one too many times. The actual program has been canceled, but we are hoping another network will pick it up, its an awesome series. The reason you will see Dave Considine is because he is the #1 religious demonologist in the Country and A Haunting is the only show that focuses on Demonic hauntings, plus you can see John Zaffis from CT as well. Dave reports to a Bishop for permission and does have to show evidence before it is granted..They take a 12 day investigation and jam it into 45 minutes so we dont see as much as we would like. Every photo, EVP, and story is 100% genuine and that is a given. Dave is a very religious, serious, intelligent man, who dedicates his life to helping people in trouble, and trust me, the interviews prior and things one must do first is grueling. He doesnt just get a call, run out and perfom a fumigation or exorcism. In the case of the Diabolical, the little girl was born with severe birth defects, and could not talk or walk, but she did respond to the spirits and the Demonic, and it used her. The other thing we dont see often is how injured people get during these things, and they dont show half of it. Dave makes a point of not exploiting the family or showing their faces or real homes. Everything he does isnt for TV, but for a family or person. Many of the actors do several movies, because they like to. The real families would never do it, nor would he ask, so that they dont re-live it. These movies are actually mild compared to a true fumigation/exorcism. I admit, the b./f was a moron bringing in the Ouija Board, which in turn brought in the Demonic Frank, but I am sure it was there all along. I happen to enjoy the series and as I said, I hope another channel picks it up and we get some new ones, but dont know yet..JN

Well I just think 5 minutes out of that 45 could be spent showing us some evidence he gathered (real stuff not staged or re-enacted ) .or some of the gruelling things you proclaim he does . i saw no mention of psych evaluations. land history checks anything like that . and to be honest if one is going to take the show seriously then imo it must show both sides have been looked into and considered . otherwise it just looks like another superstitious load of mumbo jumbo and really should be taken with a grain of salt . with the tag "for entertainment purposes only "attached . suppose its okay if you like a little creepy ghost story before bed . but thats all really .

Hehe. Ah yes, if only there was proof of these "demonics". But there is always the concern of protecting the privacy, etc etc. Not to mention the secretive nature of the "Church". It really does smell fishy, doesn't it? That's why when it comes to "demonic" hauntings, it's more faith than fact.

I understand, however the show is based on true events. They are not TAPS where its all about evidence and debunking. These are life changing stories, and I guess you had to be there kinda thing. I appreciate your opinion but of course dont agree with it LOL...You saw what happened when I wrote some of my story, so would it really make a difference it Dave presented evidence? People either dont believe in it, or do believe and nothing will change that. JN

I think privacy could be kept on these shows just by blurring faces . changing names. etc that way we could get too see some real footage of what happened . when it happened and how it happened . but not necessarily who it happened too .

I think this is the only way for shows like this too go if they ever wish to be taken seriously . I agree not everyone would buy it . but those with an open mind would at least have something to consider as it stands there really isnt much to work with. and then they may well change our minds . Heck if dave can convince the catholic church to come out and do an excorcism with the weight of evidence he finds then maybe he will convince us if he just allowed us too see it . or is that it doesnt take as much as some say to get the catholic church out? i dont know . Ive never been involved with them . but while there is no evidence at all it leaves us all with the question . Why ? . as eggumby said there is a shroud of secrecy over everything . how does anyone expect us just too buy it with nothing to go on . its a leap of faith and one I personally am unwilling to take .

LOL There really is no secrecy involved, more of anonymity. There is only so much a family or person can go thru and then re-live it, by playing themsleves or watching the original footage. All mine is on video, and audio and I NEVER want to see it. I couldnt handle it, and thats the Gods honest truth. It is so horrifing and surreal its like you are outside your body watching a bad B rated movie, I cant explain it. The things I saw, and heard I have not shared yet except with a counselor, because its too horrific and painful to even think about, never mind comprehend or discuss. Is it a secret? NO, its too personal and frightening to discuss. In any case, you are thinking of "A Haunting in CT." Now that investigation was done with Dave Considine and John Zaffis. Dave does the history of the home, and land and interviews and John does the investigation, and a priest does the exorcism, and John got his butt kicked on that one. Thats the funeral home basement story. The mother still annoys me to this day LOL..Mr Gordy I believe is a Haunting in Georgia. There is another good one called "The Presence." It was made years ago but aired in 2007 on A Haunting and YouTube. Theres nothing fishy IMO just so much can be told, and that is for the victims & families. If I didnt go thru it, I may not believe it either, cause I never knew what a Demon was, never mind have one attach itself to me..You have a great day too SS..JN

Ah that sounds right yes , I remember watching that one a few years back . I had an morbid fear of funeral homes/morgues etc back then so that one was a little creepy for me at the time . I'm over it now though lol .

I will look "The presence" up . I may not believe all the stories but i still like to watch them so thanks .

Theres little point us going over the details of what goes on what doesnt . and how it should be its unlikely we will find any common ground but ive enjoyed our discussion, and you never know one day we may bump into each other on a thread where we can actually agree on something . stranger things have happened lol .

I agree. If there was proof, it would be the best thing for the Church, but there isn't, so...keep it a mystery, obfuscate, avoid the truth, keep it all muddy. It's not about protecting the victims, that's a cop out. But that is the nature of faith.

There are no mysteries, and I have been thru the whole 9 yards of it. What kind of evidence would it take for anyone to believe it? I do know that A&E wanted to air a show of those out there possessed or being plagued by a Demonic. Production was shut down, because of the exploitation of those victims. This is a very religious and personal ceremony. If those on here dont believe the ones here, why would you believe something seen on TV? You wouldnt! When I was in the hospital recently I spoke to a Priest and I told him, yet he seemed to sense I wanted to talk. That night be brought me blessed rosary beads, and Holy water, and told me how to bless myself if need be. So, its no secret, its just that most dont talk about it. JN

The point is, there is no proof of demonic anything. You can say anything, it doesn't mean it's true. There is evidence out there for paranormal activity, but there is little if any real evidence other than personal accounts for Christian, Jesus Christ based, or Catholic inspired hauntings that include demons opposed to "the church". That's all I was saying. Personally, I would hate to experience what a reported demonic haunting is, but I think it would be great if real valid proof of it was offered, such as video evidence, third party verification, etc. So there are indeed mysteries, especially since "the church" is so secretive about these so called possessions and demonic hauntings.

And actually, I have seen programs and read about people that claimed to be possessed by these anti-Christian demons. But again, they are just first hand accounts and personal experiences.

I believe that can be said for any kind of haunting. I mean we can post photos, EVP's etc and people still dont believe it most of the time. If people choose not to believe in first hand accounts then that is their choice..Its not just Catholics or Roman Catholics, as Rabi's perform exorcisms, as do pastors, preachers, ministers etc. Its not just Christains or Catholics. I reached out for help and got all the help I needed. However, he has also helped atheists, agnostics etc..Its about the haunting, and what it can do to people and families. I dont think you will see video footage any time soon. They had audio of Emily Rose and people didnt believe that, so most is not enough, and I dont think its ever "enough." JN
