Just found this one. Anyone know about this? The report said it was like a fetus, and its DNA is elongated, and unlike any human or anthropoid.

Pravda is kind of like the Weekly World News without the journalistic integrity...I wouldnt put to much weight behind anything they print.

My thoughts exactly. Pravda was a decent newspaper 4-5 years ago. Now it's the National Enquirer of Russia. I read it almost daily, for entertainment purposes only, of course original.gif

Cheers

Still, if they ever release it, it would be one heck of a discovery. I wonder what form that DNA would be like, Z-form I guess. Hope they can back this up soon.

Why all this great rush to assume that aliens have DNA? And if they don't couldn't that be one of the things that makes 'em alien?

My thoughts exactly. Even if life does arise elsewhere there's nothing to suggest it would have DNA like life here on Earth has.
Anukis
Even if aliens do have a DNA, and the Russians have it in their hands, im pretty sure this would be all over the world's news already...

There's so many news around the world that never got out. What else is new?

We do? I may have missed that particular meeting. What is the truth?

Cant imagine what you expect about alien life. It certainly will have cells and some way to keep the information inside these cells, so they must have dna, not like ours, but they need to have something very similar.

I do think the chances of life on another planet are very extremely rare, but if exist, its pretty much closer to what we have on earth.

I agree to an extent about them/they/what ever, being similar. After all, everything in the universe including us was made from the same space dust wink2.gif

They might be completely alien. They might not even be made of the same elements as life on earth. There are even a few organisms on earth that aren't really made of what could be called discrete cells for at least part of their life cycles. Read about slime molds and macroalgae.

You never know, DNA might have been an unbelievably lucky fluke here on Earth, just like all the other major advances in the evolution of life. Maybe they went a few steps further beyond DNA or they have something completely different which we could never have pictured, that might have arisen in the primordial soup but failed to gain precedence over DNA.

However, we can assume that because the elements that make us up are very common in the universe, life elsewhere is likely to be similiar in that way, and they'd still be influenced by natural selection. Beyond that there isn't much we can really know.

Intelligent alien life has the technology to travel thousands of light years to our sh**ty little planet. That means they're obviously more intelligent then us and have technology that's far ahead of ours. So for whatever reason it might be, they land on our planet. They land somewhere in a sh**ty town in the middle of Russia, and they leave a baby alien behind. Some old lady finds a baby alien, and offcourse starts taking care of it like it was her own child- what else would you do with a baby alien? Then the baby alien is kidnapped by some unidentified boogeymen, but it leaves behind a part of it's body for scientist to look at.

Offcourse if this brilliant story was real it wouldn't possibly be breaking world news that would completly rewrite history. No, offcourse not silly! It would only be published by some local newspaper and some websites.

Ok enough sarcasm, but you get my point. It's utter bull.

Lol, I read the title and thought, sounds like "Pravda". Sure enough, there was a link to Pravda. I think Pravda means "the truth" in Russian, but you will find as much truth reading Pravda as you would reading "The National Enquirer".

I'm going to click on the link now, even though I know it will most likely come at the expense of a few brain cells. original.gif

Actually, it was fairly typical of the genre (only resulting in the loss of a couple of brain cells!). grin2.gif

Just because not everyone knows about it makes it untrue. Obviously its authenticity is in question, which means the only way for it to be proven is for the scientist to release it.

But I don't know, for some reason these cases always are forgotten and tossed aside.

I also noticed that the first ones to defraud reality-changing cases like these are those from "up above". Funny.

Lol, yeah Pravda usually puts it out there in such a way that it seems like you are reading the latest news from Scientific American or something.

If there ever is a real "reality-changing" case you could probably count on those from "up above" to "protect" you, hehe. original.gif

Given that, don't expect real news of a reality-changing case to come from a so called newspaper rag you can buy in the check out isle at the supermarket. If we ever do get unfiltered news of something amazing it will most likely come from the internet.

Well actually, those kind of cases have been flooding for a long time. Most of them have either been lost or forgotten. Even the Church nowadays does not rule out the existence of alien, and even says that they are free from Original Sin.

sounds like 100% old fashioned stinky smelling horse$hit to me.if they would have had alien dna, you'd have seen it in every paper and every news broadcast on earth!!!!
