This was an interesting article and offers the notion that the modern concept if Witch is not the same as it was before. Not sure how much I agree with the implied conclusion but on face value it seems correct:

Well if Witches didn't exist where did Shakespeare come up with his idea of Witches and why did he put Hecate in there if it wasn't part of the old religions. I think what they were people who practice healing arts with herbs and spells. The Church didn't like them because they wanted people to pray for help and give the Church money rather than going to herbalist.

If your point norwood is that we believe one part of the Bible so have to blindly follow the rest then I understand that but do not agree. Some parts are clearly not meant to be followed outside of the context they were presented. The 'thous shall not suffer a witch to live' in Exodus 22 is part of the Covenant Code. These in turn are one part of the Jewish law which tradition states there are 613 laws.

Exodus 19 gives the reason and purpose of the Covenant Code which is just a part of Jewish Law but does not compose the whole of it.

Exodus 19:3 while Moses went up to God. The LORD called to him out of the mountain, saying, "Thus you shall say to the house of Jacob, and tell the people of Israel: 4 You yourselves have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles’ wings and brought you to myself. 5 Now therefore, if you will indeed obey my voice and keep my covenant, you shall be my treasured possession among all peoples, for all the earth is mine; 6 and you shall be to me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. These are the words that you shall speak to the people of Israel."

Yes and plucking your neighbors eye out if it offends thee does not sound so good either, or is it my eye i'm sposed to pluck out, I forget.

Seriously though, theres a bunch of stuff like that in there , that just can't be taken seriously, in this day and age
Killing witches rates up there.
My Father said thou shalt not kill, He wrote those words, and there was no mention of unless they were witches.

...FYI: Constantine became a Christina on his death bed, some 12 years AFTER the Council of Nicea. He was a pagan when he converted the empire to Christianity.

Oh thats so sad, being a transvestite all your life and only coming out of the closet on your deathbed.

All that guilt without the fun of wearing womens clothes!
