Full Version: Advice about Crystals?

I have several crystals that I have picked up that I love for many reasons, just the beauty of them alone makes me happy. Here is a link I made on YouTube that shows my collection (small as it may be) Crystal Collection for any crystal junkies out there like me.

Wondering about your experience with crystals, how you use them (decorational, functional) and whether they help you spiritually? For example, lifting negativity, channeling, protection?

Any advice on exceptional crystal that makes all the difference to you? I would love to hear it!

Thanks in advance!

That is a very nice collection.

It is said that crystals hold energy. Actually all things are energy however crystals retain the energy from other objects like people. You can use a crystal pendulam to pratice a little tk. when you hold it in front of you and think of it moving, it can pick up the energy from your thoughts and move as a result of this energy.

Well my experience with crystals are limited.

But from the experience I do have, mostly with quartz, they seem to be able to both store and emit energy as well as attract it from various sources.

I have noticed you can fill a crystal with your own energy or energy from someone else or something else and then store it for later use, or have it emit its energy at a constant rate, such as using it as a "lucky charm" crystal to have in your pocket.

They also seem programmable, meaning you can program a crystal to either attract or deflect specific types of energies, as well as emit chosen sort of energy.

And a couple examples on how and what I've used them for:

Filling them with energy of love, protection, guidance and success - and then carry it with me and have it close to me when sleeping such as under pillow.

Fill it with healing energy to use it for healing purposes, either on self or others.

Having assistance from spirit guides, guardian angels and arch angels to fill them with their energy and powers for deeper spiritual effects and more rapid spiritual development (you can also ask them to fill the crystals with any of the energy of the above two mentioned examples)

Fill them for dream energy or astral energy, meaning programming them to aid you in remembering your dream, having lucid dreams and astral projections.

That was some examples.

That's what I found out so far at least, dunno if that's of any help.

Best wishes and glory on your path!

Actually, they sell something in the shops called healing crystals. But collecting your own must be even better.
bleedingelite
Well, I've never once in my life seen anything to suggest that crystals contain magical powers. But it is convenient that crystals are a lot cheaper than other minerals like emeralds and rubies.

If you like crystals, you should check out this store called Swarovski's or something. They sell all kinds of cool things made entirely out of crystals. original.gif

Swarovski crystals cost maybe a lot more than those rubies and stuff. The workmanship is very good.

Hello Amberlight, you have a very nice collection. I too have my own collection and can tell you from experience they add much joy to my life. They are in every room of my house and each one is beautiful onto itself. Each crystal carries it's own vibration and each frequency is specific to that crystals attributes. There are many books on the subject that you may find helpful on your path to crystal awarness. May I recommend you read "Love is in the Earth" by Melody, it is considered the most complete reference book on the Metaphysical properties of the Mineral Kingdom.

As a crystal healer, I have been working with crystal energies for several years and am somewhat familiar with their properties and use. I say somewhat because when I think I know...the crystals always enlighten me more! Feel free to contact me at your convenience and I will try to help you in which ever way the crystals & spirit direct.

Thank you to everyone who posted!

There is a difference between a Swarovski crystal and a natural crystal. Swarovski is lead crystal and does not come out of the earth but rather man made. And they are expensive, but beautiful.

I am wondering overall what is the most powerful crystal of all? To me, amethyst is #1 but I would love to hear about other peoples most powerful stone?

All things carry a vibration including man made stones. I suppose one could use Swarovski crystals to do color healings because the color would carry a vibration. I am in agreement with you that although they are very beautiful, they do not come from the womb of Earth but from a Lab and so do not carry Mother Earth's vibration and love. I see them more as gifts from humankind to humankind, not from Mother Earth to humankind.

Let’s see…in reference to which crystal is the most powerful, in my experience every crystal I have had the privilege of working with has helped me on my path. Each lesson, big or small adds to my awareness and connection with all that is. I cannot say one is more powerful then another. I do however have some that I simply enjoy carrying around, looking at and meditating with, probably for the same reasons you are attracted to Amethyst...but not because I consider them most powerful.

Perhaps you can help me understand what you mean by “most powerful”.

All things come from the same place. All of our materials, certainly crystals used by swarovski, come from the earth. "Mother" earth is a large ball of rock, water, and molten iron, big enough to hold an atmosphere. In other words, it is a planet, though it has a thin layer of various parasitical life forms growing on its outer layer. All planets are formed from the same forces, born from the same big bang.

Anyways, I digress. What makes you think that crystals have special vibrational energy? Can you explain how these vibrations work and how they go about healing and doing magical things? Just curious.

Hello Bleedingelite and so we meet again. I will try to shed some light on your question without hijacking Amberlights thread.

The following information is from the
reference book Love is in the Earth by Melody.

“…page 31 Crystals exhibit the properties of both piezoelectricity and pyroelectricity. Piezoelectricity is the quality whereby electricity, and sometimes light, is produced via compression. Many of the early civilizations of the Earth (e.g., Mayan, Aztec, American Indian, African Native, Celtic) often used quartz crystals in ceremonies and struck the crystals in order to produce a flash of visible light. Compression produces the release of electrons. Release of compression allows expansion (albeit minute) of the crystal and concurrent re-absorption of electrons: hence, producing mechanical energy (vibration). A high energy source applied to a crystal may cause it to fracture. (There are many examples of personal crystals fracturing during use.) Pyroelectricity is the quality of an electrified state, or polarity, which is produced by, and changes with, variation in temperature. The pyroelectric state activates expansion of the inherent energy when the crystal is heated; subsequently, when cooled, the energy contracts and remains within the structure. It has been known for centuries in India and Ceylon, that tourmaline, when heated in the embers of fire, first attracted ashes and then repelled ashes. Other crystals (e.g. topaz) will either attract or repel bits of paper, thread, or ashes. This phenomenon is due to electrical charges which accumulate on the surface of the crystal (i.e. heat producing an evident electrical energy). The topaz will continue to hold the electrical excitation for several hours.

The energies of the mineral kingdom are “universal energies”. Hence, when one contacts and is willing to receive this energy, and begins to exercise personal creativity via exercise of the Higher Will, one can contact and synthesize the energies from which the entire universe is comprised. This is the reason that crystals and other minerals are so very powerful and also why their powers must only be used through the highest consciousness of the individual. The individual universal energies contained within each mineralogical structure is activated and directed by interaction and/or contact with same. Right intention during use of the mineral further stimulates the melding of ones personal energy with that of the mineral kingdom, furthering the propagation of light, the love, and “the good of all”…

The consciousness of the planet is leading humanity to the re-discovery of an ancient and forgotten healing art in which the utilization of crystals is prominent. Dis-ease and disorder in ones life usually entails lessons which will allow one to release the burdens of unconsciousness. Although one must ultimately heal oneself, the healing process may be facilitated buy the catalytic presence of many things. To experience dis-ease is to experience a total or partial disconnection from wholeness, a loss of awareness of the innate and universal source of perfection. The members of the mineralogical kingdom have been used for centuries to act as catalysts and to assist one in becoming re-united with that source.

So…I guess it’s not so much that the crystals themselves possess a “special vibrational energy” as much as the combination of both the crystals and our Higher Will. wub.gif

Okay, so the crystals will generate voltage when struck and electrical excitation when heated. I don't understand how that heals anybody.

The rest of the text is kinda flakey. First it says that electric voltage is "universal energy"? What does that even mean? And then there's some mumbo jumbo about a higher will, crystals are "so powerful" (though we've just been explained to what power it is that the crystals have, and they're not that powerful compared to most of today's technology) and something about highest consciousness (sounds like the kind of thing I would say when I was taking acid).

Then it goes on to say something about the planet being conscious (I'm not even getting into that one), of course with an "ancient and forgotten arts" mention like any good new age book should have, and the statement that "one must ultimately heal oneself (which translates into "even though it doesn't seem like anything's happening, it's really just that you need to do the real healing on your own, so don't blame me that your crystals don't seem magical").

All the talk of "disconnection from wholeness" and stuff makes me think of a bunch of ants being controlled by some kind of evil hivemind.

As I see it, what you say is so very true. In my case, I see the evil hivemind as the logical mind constructs gone mad with a total disconnect from our sense of perspective.

The connection to wholeness that many speak about is an awareness that the mind needs to integrate with the body's intuitive wisdom.

This process of re-discovery is however not evil. It is educational. We as a culture need to experience the disconnect to really appreciate it.

I don't use crystals often, but I'll tell you that I always use rose incense charged Carnelian for pms! It works like a charm for me. I usually have terrible back/leg aches when I have pms, but the charged Carnelian makes the pain much more manageable, or makes it go away altogether. And I've even tested this too. I'll switch off days of not carrying the Carnelian and carrying it with me, and on the days I don't have it, I'll have pms symptoms, but on the days I do carry it, I'm perfectly fine.

Hello Lady Otterwynnd, How interesting that you too use Carnelian for menses…so do I.
I use it for cramps…it works wonders! Most female healers I have spoken to about this either use or recommend Moonstone, Opal or Chrysocolla for pms…have you tried any of these? I do not have pms so cannot test them.

In regards to Carnelian we are both using it in a different manner. I have been told the stone is used for excessive and to regulate the cycle. I am thrilled to learn that the crystal is evolving and others are using it in additional ways.

As a student of aromatherapy and essential oils, can u share with me the connection between rose incense and pms? Also what kind of rose; centrifolia or damascene?

Thank you for your post!

I haven't tried moonstone, opal, or chrysocolla for pms, but I'll try experimenting with them next time I have a chance. I've heard that chrysocolla can be used to ease pms before, though I didn't know moonstone and opals could be used for it as well.

Yes, I've heard the stone can be used to regulate the menstrual cycle, and whenever I use the stone, I seem to have much more uniform cycles. Usually mine are between 5 days and up to 7 or 8 days, but when using Carnelian, they're usually right around 5 or 6 days, which is pretty regular for me. The back aches are what it helps the most with, though. I usually have horrid back cramps, and the Carnelian takes care of them right away. Since carnelian is associated with the sacral chakra, because of it's red color, I suppose that makes sense.

As for rose incense and pms, I just use it because of it's representation of femininity. If I remember correctly, rose is associated with healing, protection, love, beauty, and happiness, but I just use it as a connection of the feminine aspect of menstrual cycles in reference to charging my stones. It's more of adding my own spin to the ritual of crystal consecration via incense I suppose. Also, I use it to calm mood swings that I have, as they can get pretty nasty. I'd have to say that during 80% of my cycles I'm quite depressed and stressed because of hormones, so I use it as an emotional balancer as well. As for the type of rose incense, I cannot say for sure, because the package doesn't specify. If I was to guess, I would say centrifolia, but I'm not positive.

Greetings all! I love the thread on crystals! I have always been drawn to these beautiful stones but never knew why. I have a crystal plate filled with them right now, both large and small. Again, I've never understood the pull they have on me. Figured it was just their beauty. Someone told me to charge them in the sun...they're outside right now in the sun "charging". After they are charged, then what? Do I just carry one with me? I'd love to progress further, but don't have the slightest idea what to do or where to start.
Interestingly enough, my fav town anywhere is Asheville, NC. Again, never knew why, but it's like I have to visit as much as possible. I feel very much at peace when I'm there. Locals have told me, "well sure! The whole town is sitting on a huge quartz crystal!" I still don't understand it all, but am very intrigued by it all. Can you guys give me some guidence here?

OMG! I am getting such great advice! I also had no idea about Moonstone (which I have) and Opal (another I own). I also have rose insense and petals. I get nasty pms, crampy periods, then sometimes 3 day long headaches after the period so I am excited to try this!

I have seen great results after the stones have been charged. Just having them near you creates a good vibe. I have felt a close feeling with Sedona Arizona. Ever been? I had a sort of religious experience there and never knew about the special properties there. I think once the crystals adopt you, it's a love affair for ever!

Never been to Sedona, but would LOVE to go! OK, I'm carrying the crystals with me and see what happens. They're so beautiful and I'm just fascinated w/them! Here goes! Cool, much as I love them, then to find that they can actually help me! Maybethat's what they've been trying to tell me!
