Hello Lady Otterwynnd, How interesting that you too use Carnelian for menses…so do I.
I use it for cramps…it works wonders! Most female healers I have spoken to about this either use or recommend Moonstone, Opal or Chrysocolla for pms…have you tried any of these? I do not have pms so cannot test them.
In regards to Carnelian we are both using it in a different manner. I have been told the stone is used for excessive and to regulate the cycle. I am thrilled to learn that the crystal is evolving and others are using it in additional ways.
As a student of aromatherapy and essential oils, can u share with me the connection between rose incense and pms? Also what kind of rose; centrifolia or damascene?
Thank you for your post!
I haven't tried moonstone, opal, or chrysocolla for pms, but I'll try experimenting with them next time I have a chance. I've heard that chrysocolla can be used to ease pms before, though I didn't know moonstone and opals could be used for it as well.
Yes, I've heard the stone can be used to regulate the menstrual cycle, and whenever I use the stone, I seem to have much more uniform cycles. Usually mine are between 5 days and up to 7 or 8 days, but when using Carnelian, they're usually right around 5 or 6 days, which is pretty regular for me. The back aches are what it helps the most with, though. I usually have horrid back cramps, and the Carnelian takes care of them right away. Since carnelian is associated with the sacral chakra, because of it's red color, I suppose that makes sense.
As for rose incense and pms, I just use it because of it's representation of femininity. If I remember correctly, rose is associated with healing, protection, love, beauty, and happiness, but I just use it as a connection of the feminine aspect of menstrual cycles in reference to charging my stones. It's more of adding my own spin to the ritual of crystal consecration via incense I suppose. Also, I use it to calm mood swings that I have, as they can get pretty nasty. I'd have to say that during 80% of my cycles I'm quite depressed and stressed because of hormones, so I use it as an emotional balancer as well. As for the type of rose incense, I cannot say for sure, because the package doesn't specify. If I was to guess, I would say centrifolia, but I'm not positive.
