Ok this is starting to freak me out a little bit... this is the second time I have been laying down in bed all of a sudden I hear noises or see a shadow and all of a sudden my body goes numb and I can't move or talk. The first time it happened I was on my lunch break from work and I layed down to relax, I didn't fall asleep, I would have but I was just restless and could not sleep. The way my bed is facing I can not see my roomate come into the door, or see his bed area. Also my roommate never comes home on his lunch break, usually too busy to, but anyways, I was relaxing jsut waiting to get back to work, and then I saw a shadow on my wall of what looked like someone getting up outta his bed stretching and then walking away, this is where my body got numb. I remember thinking to myself "Jay's home? hmm don't remember seeing or hearing him coming in, oh well I'll get up and say hi before he goes back to work" and this is where I realized I couldn't move or talk... I started hearing hisses and noises my mind got cloudy I was fighintg to move and I could not move at all no matter how hard I tried... then all of a sudden I was asleep and when I woke up it was still hard to move but I was able tog et up and get back to work... I told my roommate of thsi later that day and he said he has been sensing wierd things in the room for the past couple days but didn't say anything to me because he thought Id laugh at him or something. I'm a skeptic btw, I hear all these ghost stories or demonic possesions and I figure theres always a way for science to explain it. My roommate is religious well used to be, I was brought into the christian faith in his house, and his whole family said teh night I accepted god that thier cats were acting wierd and they all ran into the basement and when my roommate had gone into the basement to see what was going on he felt the presence of ... something... the ats were hissing and shortly after he came downstairs it left. Now for the second part... which just happened 30 minutes ago. I was laying down again, this time I had my eyes closed trying to take a nap since Ive been up since 5:30am. All of a sudden I heard someone getting up outta my roomates bed again, and I knew he wasn't here, I opened my eyes didnt see him then I heard what sounded like a zipper un zipping and my body started to tingle and I had a feeling it was about to happen again so I tried to get up feel fast and I couldn't move.. or talk.. this time it was intense, my mind went into lieka static state, all i could hear was static.. and I saw the faint inamge of something yelling at me, just the mouth though yelling at me in my mind, my eyes were open no one was in teh room. I started to ask god to help me and i know its going to sound stupid but also started to ask Saint Michael to help me, and this point is where I saw the yelling image and then another image or something walking away but with it's head turned back furious at me.... There is no history of mental illness in m family, I don't do drugs, or drink alcohol, well I drink but I haven't rank in about 2 weeks, I'm in perfect health, I workout everyday ( being military I kinda have to) Theres nothing I can think of to explain this. It's not ym sleeping positions it's been different both times. I don't have any demonic material or satanist stuff in my room, nothing religious at all. my room is quite bare. It's a normal Oklahoma day. Any input would be awesome, and I know a lot of people are going to see the parts about Jesus and demons and be quick to look over, but I can't think of anything else. sorry for the length of this post.

Thanks for sharing your story. Does any activity happen when you are wide awake and not lying down? If not, it could very well be "Sleep Paralysis." Maybe this can help...JN

wow...you have had your hands full...get a medical check up first and see if there is a problem with stress, sleeping, etc...are you taking any medications even over the counter right now...check on the possible side effects if you are...but if you are worried that this is more than mind tricks then you need to enlist the help of someone who may be familiar with what may be happening to you....

That's a very interesting story, creepy too. The #1 cause for sleep paralysis is stress. Alot of people think that it's paranormal but sleep paralysis is easily debunked. Your brain wakes up faster than your body but within a minute or so your body should be able to move again. It's happened to me several times.

Yeah I looked up sleep paralysis, and it pretty much hit the nail on the head. Im not taking any medications, I just had a physical done ( unit requires it ), I'm not a person to get stressed out about stuff I take things as they are thrown at me as far as work and everything. Sleep Paralysis sounds like it might be it. Thanks for everything

My son has suffered with SP for a very long time. I took him to a Neurologist a few years back and he said its the neurotransmitters in the brain that causes these auditory and visual hallucinations. Its best not to get over tired if possible, and taking naps is when this can happen more often. Also try some relaxation exercises before bed, that sometimes help. Lastly the doc told my son sleeping on his back or side makes it worse, so try to lay on his stomach. Just some ideas and good luck..JN

I hate sleep paralysis...it's happened to me many times...the last time I had it, I thought I saw someone that looked like the girl from the ring sitting on the chair a few feet away

That made it even worse because I kept trying to move to run away but my body wouldn't budge...
But now I"m stress free for the most part and it hasn't happened to me in over 3 years....

See thats crazy... its happened to me twice and in one night i might add. I never saw anything, i just felt like i was being held, i didn't see anything... I didn't know it cause full on halucinations till a while ago. It was crazy when it happened to me i was lying in bed on my back. I got a little freaked out for a min. i didn't know why, i think it was hard to breath and i felt like i was being held. I tried to roll, couldn't. Tried to roll again, couldn't. Freaking out more tried to roll like crazy and rolled off the bed and flew and hit my weight bench. It hurt, for a while i thought it was crazy until i figured out what it was.. but yea it can be quite scary... We have been talking about sleep paralysis a lot lately...

Definitely does sound like it- Try not sleeping on your back, but on your stomach, and see if you see any change in the incidents....

Bankai, I've experienced the paralyzed feeling or pushed down in the bed, and didn't see anything. I've experienced a being only once (it was gnomes actually).. Not everyone sees these monsters/demons/angels/shadows while suffering from SP.
Which is a good thing cause they are scary, and it does seem very real.

My sister has found herself hanging off the bed after she's been released.

I get this at least 3 times a month always when I sleep on my right side. I have seen everything from the old hag to a gremlin biting my ankles to shadow men pointing at me, and again sometimes nothing happens it is just the paralized feeling. I know it seems creepy but they don’t really last long maybe 1 to 2 minutes, I have heard there are cures for it, but if you can learn to deal with it and write your experiences down after you have them they are really interesting after a while.

it only ever happened to me once, and it was well over 10 years ago, i never saw anything, just intensely bright light, but it scared me so bad, when i finally could move, i darted right up and ran all the way downstairs and outside of the house (grabbed the cordless phone on the way) and called my friend to get me out of that house! (i am such a baby)
