I grew up in Louisville Ky and have been to waverly hills several times when in high school we used to sneek up there I guess it is when my interest in the paranormal really got its spark, there are very distrubing sounds and shadows up there I can tell you now Im older I would not do things so reckless but it was fun then, they open tours at halloween and you can stay over night on a private tour google it to see more.

What kinds of sounds and shadows did you see? Do you think your state of mind had anything to do with it?

You should go back and stay overnight and see if things are different now that you are older.

I am also from Kentucky but I am still waiting to go to waverly hills. Had some friends go a couple of years ago ... lets just say they will not go back. They did not last the night and are certain somebody is up to something. Theres no such thing as ghosts!

Then why won't you go back???? huh.gif

It's so funny that you brought this up today. I saw the Waverly show months ago and it scared the stuffing out of me. Last night, I had turned out all the lights and was making my way to bed in the pitch black. All of a sudden I just stopped. I flashed back to Waverly and I thought I would be so uncomfortable if something touched me in my own house but I'd have a heart attack if I was grabbed in the dark at Waverly. That is such a spooky place. I can't imagine spending the night there.

original.gif I wanna go. I wanna go to most places that are reported haunted. Too bad Oklahoma dont have many haunted places, the haunted places here are like at shopping malls, how boring as i hate to shop. There is an old boys home thats supposed to be haunted here, but its now private property, no one can get in the gates. Hmmmm Alcatraz thats one place that would be kool to visit wink2.gif

I spent the night at Waverly Hills. NEVER again. I do believe in ghosts I do believe ghosts.

Thump - I've been to Alcatraz and you can just feel the darkness and pain. It feels like a heavy horrible black mist surrounds you, but of course you don't see it. I don't often feel spirits but I felt like they were all around me. To me, it was like they were pawing at me, trying to get my help to get out of there. It was one of the saddest and eerie tours that I've ever taken. I tell everyone that it is a must see in SF.

WolfKnight - Please tell us about your experiences there! I cannot begin to imagine.

I was suppose to go this past March with the group I'm with but they charge way too much money to investigate. It's really ridiculous & it takes the fun out of investigating when you have to cough up $4000... yes I did say $4000 to investigate on a saturday night. They forget that the majority of paranormal groups out there are non-profit & make no money. We're trying to get there next year, hopefully the price wont go up.

$4000.00

Good grief. Highway robbery. ph34r.gif

Yup $4000 for a group of 20 people... that's out of control. If you wanna iinvestigate on a weekday it's $2000 which is still really out there.

yeah, the shadow people and orbs there would not be saying "Boo" ... they would be screaming "Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha" and pointing at you. You would be the next victim to die at Waverly Hills from "TB" Totally Bankrupt. tongue.gif

laugh.gif I like that BOG... that's a good one. I understand that the owners have to keep up with the building so they need funding but the pricing is way over the top. Ugh it's very discouraging but we'd like to investigate next year.

Now that I think about it, I bet the taxes and insurance on that place are extraordinary. If someone got hurt, no matter what contract was signed beforehand, the owners might spend years in court.

Still, if I had the courage to stay there, I'd pay. It costs the same as a hotel or a day at Disney World. You have to look at it as your entertainment, not helping the owners find spirits.
LIGhostChick
I'm sure their bills for the place are insane. I cant really see it as entertainment though because we are a serious paranormal group so we'd be going to really investigate. Waverly is at the top of our list for 2009.

Entertainment might have been the wrong word for you, but your investigation is gathering knowledge for your serious paranormal group and whomsoever you choose to share it with.

I think the owners really don't give a flying fig about the spirits except that legit groups, like yours, are investigating which brings in more 'paying' customers who are doing it for thrills.

I hope your group can visit and I am looking forward to hearing your experiences. Waverly is frightening to me. unsure.gif Lol, they are all scary to me. I'm hoping for a group gathering in Georgia so I can participate and have a large group around me.

I have a friend who wants to do the private tour halloween its pricey about 200, would you be interested? we are going to try to go this year and do a somewhat real investigation I think the party will be about 8 people but its all night.

I dunno about the costs of running a place like that. The building is delapitated and the grounds undeveloped. Plus it's an official historical site. The taxes shouldn't be that big. It's not like there's electricity, water, heat etc. in the main buulding too.

I'm sure much more than expenses are being met. wink2.gif

I am planning to return to Waverly in the fall for a overnight stay , the only thing that will pobably change is I will have some professional people with me but as far as that place being real ,you can bet on it! its no joke up there not a good place. I read John Zaffis says its in the top of his list for most haunted places in the world.
LIGhostChick
When we first found the cost, it completely killed the excitement of investigating such an amazing place. We were all so looking forward to doing it until we found out how much money it was. They got alot of nerve to charge that. It's ridiculous because then you also have to pay for travel expenses & food. It's nuts. disgust.gif blink.gif
