I goofed around with my photoshop, enlarged the areas to see if I could see anything out of the ordinary. I inverted the cropped part of the man standing by the building, to what it looks like as a negative photo. Now, I don't really know if this is what a normal person wearing black would look like in a negative, so if that's what it normally looks like, please let me know.

I also cropped and enlarged the area where this woman is supposed to be standing in the woods edge, because I really didn't see anything in the original photo that was out of the ordinary there. I circled what I am guessing is a face. It sort of looks like one to me, but then again, I could have circled a mass of branches and leaves that just look like a face. Is this what I am supposed to be seeing?

My thoughts if you have to look that hard... you're looking too hard. But nice of you to try. yes.gif I certainly don't have that kind of patience.
Gothgurl11
LOL my thoughts exactly...but I wanted to show it. I didn't see anything in that area until I enlarged it and I still had to sort of stare and see if anything popped out at me. I was hoping for something more solid, like the person standing by the building...but then again...isn't that the kind of ghost everyone wants to see original.gif

Good Job!! I do see the face of the woman, and with all due respect, she is ugly LOL>.JN

I can entertain questions regarding the man photo. I am the photographer.

I learned about this area by reading this forum, well actually 1960 evil Bypass. I was shocked to learn the details, and the latest news stories. I went Thursday with katnbobnc. we took photos. What really stood my hair on end was when we got home and reviewed the photos we took. and then Walkertold his story. Talk about a trip.

I have a hard time accepting that these strange events can be real. It does not jive too well with my faith., you know. Anyhow, I am now onboard since I have had the wits scared out of me.
But, I took these with my digital camera. It was 9 in the morning when we went. And I recommend that if any newcomers take on the adventure, just dont go alone.

Gothgurl11
Nope...no going alone for me... besides if I do make it out there and take someone, they will also have a camera. I would like to take similar shots with more than one camera..if anything can be picked up on film, I'd like backup and not just thinking its all in my head or being in the mindframe of wanting to see something so bad, that I will. If something out there does show up and scares the pants off me...I for sure do not want to be alone lol....
RubyLuvsDiamonds
This is a change of toic from the man, and the lady., but in the same photo, katnbobnc and I could pic out all kinds of crazy images.
We found what looks like a fist, and demon faces along the bottom edge just above where the concrete separates.--faces that give you the heebeegeebies!!!

And, there are people faces to. given the hard time trying to find the woman, I just though for further information I would throw that out there.

Other photos we have are ORB city. I wonder if this place has always been so active, or if it is due to the recent distrubance of the gravesite.

Any thoughts?/

Thoughts? weeeeelll, if you are sincerely asking and really want honest opinions, I will tell you that orbs are a hot debate around here. And there are lots of people who put very little stock into orbs as evidence of spiritual activity.

You eventually will also probably will hear the word "paredolia" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paredolia

I am not saying that you didn't experience anything or that your pics are NOT pics of ghosts. I am just cautioning you that a lot of us probably won't see it the same way as you, even despite being believers.

so who is going to make the next visit???
RubyLuvsDiamonds
I think katnbobnc and gothgurl should take a stroll down the tracks and catch some good video and evp's for us.

and down the alley behind the theater. Prbably dark would be the best time.
nemonic-hunter
i wouldnt go for another month, trust me, the police will be out cause of the grave robbings at humble negro cemetery across the tracks. we are planning to go out there again after seeing what walker and a few others have posted. we will post what date closer to when we actually do it.
Gothgurl11
Oh I am planning on going out there...but to be safe and smart I am going during the day (to start) to get familiar with the area. I'm not too jazzed on stumbling around in the dark. And yes, to let the whole thing with the grave robbing teens settle down a bit.

And I don't know if this would help or not...but since animals can sense things we can't sometimes....has anyone thought on like, taking their dog out there (on a leash of course) just to see if it can pick up anything? Or are they pretty strict about that since there is businesses there and all?
nemonic-hunter
no they arent too strict about it since its just a resturant and a health care center

What nobody has noticed is the mist in all the photos bar one. The mist takes the shape of a ladder in one photo. I wouldn't shirk off the idea that the man is an apparition, as they can become solid for a short period. I have photographed many anomalies, and despite not seeing the woman, and the man's face isn't clear, I can see that there is some kind of energy going on with the mist in the photographs.

I would like to see more photos of that place.

I noticed the foggy mist on the photos, and felt that was a sign that there possibly might be something paranormal in it. Its either ectoplasm, or moisture, not sure of all weather conditions..JN
RubyLuvsDiamonds
I have more photos of the area. There is another photo of the back area where the man was standing, and it was taken with the windows down (yes, we stayed in the vehicle---chicken yes I am) but there is more fog/haze--not sure what to make of it, but i didnt notice it at the time. Took video too, but under the bridge. (really hesitant to post that, it exposes what a scaredy cat I really am--and it was in the morning time! LOL) Photos of the theater, empty businesses, and behind the shopping center. I did not venture into the woods.

I think caution should be used, because this area has been on the news alot lately. Someone may notify the authorities. and there are trespassing issues to consider, too. I would meet you up at the location. I only would go during the day. And, we can go with another poster, too. I am a lady too, by the way. Do you have a dog??

Yes I have 3 dogs...boxers. I would bring one of them...possibly my youngest. His daddy is super old and I don't want to have him out in the heat too long because of his age.

I was wondering about the trespassing issue also...I wasn't sure if there were any or if they had issues, where in the area they enforce it.

I don't mind going into the woods at all...but not alone and surely not at night.

I do have a friend who is a houston police officer...even though that isn't his jurisdiction, he might be able to find out if and when police patrol the area and all that. Or at least be able to tell us lawfully what we can and can't do, where we could or couldn't go, etc.

I did see on the news this AM that they were having some service or something regarding the 11 yr olds grave that was desecrated. They said the kid died in 1921 or 1922...something like that. So, I am assuming they fixed the grave site, cleaned it up, etc.

I graduated from Humble HS in the 80's. I used to hang out at Golf and Games and crossed the tracks every weekend to go to the movie theater. This was the major hang-out for anyone ages 13 to 21. We called it cruisin Humble....Anyway, Golf and Games eventually shut down, as well as the AMC Theater. There were multiple car/train collisions on mainstreet in Humble, which is back further from where the "man in black" is standing. I read all the threads and thought that all of you, especially those not familiar with Humble, might find interesting. First, go on-line and read about Humble's history. My Government teacher used to tell us stories about lynchings and men being tied to oil pumps and ripped apart. I have a few other stories, but I do not want to get too far off this topic. I'll tell more if everyone wants to hear about it.

Did anyone hear that? that sound?? it was me---I nearly fainted right out of my chair!

Please dont hold back with the info.....any history such as what you just mentioned could offer an explanation, or prove a direct connection to the hot activity going on there. Do tell. asap, too.
Gothgurl11
Oh I agree...any kind of info, esp. that area would be great!!

By the way...whenever I do go out there and poke around...just to clarify so my dumba$$ doesn't go to the wrong spot (which I would...I have that luck lol). This location is across 59 from Deerbrook Mall? I looked at a satellite pic of that area, but couldn't save the pic to post here.
RubyLuvsDiamonds
Yes. that's right.

I am not sure exactly where the cemetary is though. Somewhere in the wooded area., is that area visible via satellite, too?
Gothgurl11
Yes there was a wooded area in the satellite picture. Now I know where it is...my and my hubby actually ate dinner at some little Italian restaurant in that little strip center a few years back...if I would have known about the activity in that area back then...I would have explored it huh.gif

I drew a map but I can't get it to save correctly. The cemetery that has been in the news lately is further east on 1960. It is situated just north/west of the Ramblewood Subdivision. When we 1st moved to Humble, we were waiting for our house to be completed and we stayed at a little trailer park down North Houston Avenue. NorthHouston Avenue is North/East of the Theatre but West of the Cemetery. Another area of interest is a road called Moonshine Hill. This road lead straight to the San Jacinto River. Moonshine Hill was a place that you were told to "never" hang out at at night. Humble is an evil place! All corners. I never felt comfortable there and I believe that oil, money and greed made it that way. There were multiple "societies" back in "the day" that made this possible.

If you are standing on the south side of the intersection of 1960 and Hwy 59, you are standing next to the parking lot of the movie theater. You will see a Bennigan's Restaurant, a Chuckie Cheese Restaurant/party place and I think there is still an Office Depot there. These Restaurants are seperated from the Movie Theater parking lot by Bender Avenue. (A side note.....The Bender family were a big part of Humble's Development) There is a Pancho's Mexican Buffet at the end of the Shopping Center with the old Movie Theater. There is a Petco, pet shop at the opposite end of the shopping center.

There are a few small cemeteries in the Humble area. If you are driving east on 1960 and take a right at SOUTH Houston Ave., and go approximately 3/4 of a mile, you will find a small cemetery with a fence around it. I think that some of the Humble family (pronounced UMBLE) are buried there.

If you drive west on 1960 toward Spring, take a right on Cypresswood Drive and go about 1/4 of a mile, you will find a locked gate and a path on your right. This is a path leading to a cemetery that I always knew as "blue light cemetery". There were always rumors of "devil-worship" and ghosts involved with this cemetery. The story goes that there was a young indian woman that married a man that worked for the railroad. She would go to meet him when he would arrive back in town (usually at night) and she would carry a blue lantern. She waited for him one night and for some reason she died. Anyway, people say that you can see the blue light at night.

I have so many old stories. If you have questions, I'll be happy to help. As far as the map goes, I'll keep working on it.

Were did you get your sources for information. I also live near the Atascocita which is next to Humble.
tonecop45
It is very hidden. You have to actually venture in the woods to find it. I had no problems with it. Just to note to everyone, these spirits will only reveal themselves if your alone as I found that they are shy. I made two different trips alone at night and had some activity such as movement in the woods and running in multiple directions. I even chased this noise to debunk if someone if messing with me but did not find anyone. No it was not animals nor people as I am an experiences hunter which could recognize various animals indigent to the area so I would have recognized their sound. My friends went to this same site and did an EVP which they got some results. I will let this member know to post her results in this forum.

I grew up in the Humble/Atascocita area. I can't believe Petco is gone.... My son and I volunteered for Pals for Pooches a year ago.

Hey everyone...I have done my own little investigation with some friends behind Pancho's and saw a man wearing black ourselves. However, the man walked out from the Pancho's back door and started smoking a cigarette.

Also, there are more 'paranormal' places in Humble that fail to get reported. Check out Humble City Cafe'. The upstairs is allegedly haunted.

Oh and to whomever talked about the doors behind the theater...those are emergency exits!

I will be going out to do some work soon, and I will post what I record. If anyone is interested in sharing some more of their experiences with me, I would love to work with yall.

yes they are emergency exits, but they are not hooked up. hence why they are the only way in.
Geiger2040
I went out tonight to the underpass area. I am sure yall are aware of the abandoned railcars behind Justice for Girls and the Best Buy shopping center.

Has anyone ever gone back there to check them out? I know it's dangerous, and you need permission, but has anyone gone back there or taken any pictures?
nemonic-hunter
a few of us went to the doller theater last night. we noticed that it was alot darker in the back than it had been in times before. upon entering it, not even 10 steps in and all of our electronic gear failed to work, including flash lights. not sure how all of it failed. the only thing that was on was the digital recorder and it picked up some wierd pinging noises right before our lights went out. it seemed like something didnt want us in there. we plan to go again tonight, anyone is welcome to join.
Geiger2040
Hunter...did you do any further investigation last night at the Dollar Theater?

I went today around 2:30 p.m. One of the back doors was open. I will assume it was from people going in and looking around...or homeless or criminals go in there.

For your investigation the second time, did any of your equipment fail again? Next time you plan on going let me know on this forum.
Geiger2040
Does anyone have any recent photos or evp work from that 1960 underpass area?
Geiger2040
I have done more investigating the past two days and have happy to report that the only suspicious activity is that open emergency door in the back of the theater.

As for the picture of the figure in the back alley, I have seen many Pancho's employees and other people walking back there and riding bikes. He may not have shown up until the picture was taken, and that could have been because of the wall that has green dumpsters behind the dollar theater. He may have just walked out behind that wall as it was being taken.

I did spot what appeared to be a small opening by the tracks, but it still looks very difficult to access.

The light and shadows in the tree really do play tricks on you, and I do not deny the existence of a lady in the photo. But, I cannot see her!

I did check out the abandoned foundation by the Christian Life School on Charles St. It really was a creepy feeling...but any investigator would tell you that a feeling is nothing to base anything on. I did also see and document broken glass scattered everywhere in the foundation.
