I visited the Humble theater after reading posintgs on the area. I live on Lake Houston, and so it was not far form my home. My wife hates that I have not outgrown these adventures, and it really trips her out. She wouldnt go with me., so I went alone. I was evening when i left, and was getting dark fast. I saw nothing unsual in the theater, but i remember going there as a kid., and it isi true that there was a killing in the theater.
It was abandoned, and eerily quiet. Believe me it is huge on the inside, too big to go into while it is abondoned.
the business strip center was nearly vacant of businesses, although there was a restarant o nthe corner of the strip. So, I decided to leave my truck parked in the front of the theater, and take an unnoticed slip into the alley behind the theater. It is a walk I would regret. and if noone has been here before, dont go. I was bout half the way down the alley, and its getting dark mind you, i hear movement in the woods. Big movement, I just stand still for a few moments and am concentrating on the breakline of the woods when I spotted a woman standing inside the woods!! Scared me sooooo bad, because of the way she was standing., she had been watching me while i was looking around!!and i was looking all around and suddenly to see her. oh man fear rose to the top of my throat. she had dark hair, and had a long black coat on. all i could hear was my heart beating in my ears, and this place wanted me. It wasnt like this place connected with me, it was like thisplace wanted to grab me! I ran the hell out of that alley, and i felt like i was being chased.
Does anyone have any experiences with this place?? serious, no crap postings.

she was standing silently, and unseen to me. when i realized she was there, it terrified me to see she was so close, and had been watching--unbeknowst t ome. And, no one dresses like this anymore. Dressed as if from the wld old times. she was inside the woods on the edge, and was not noticeable, but then she seemed to stand out from the lines, and outlines of the leaves and branches. I wont ever go back. this is real., and i should have taken some of these postings with a little more consideration.

I wish someone, and not me, would have video or pics of the area. It would not have been any use to me if I had a camera, i was too scared to take a pic of the woman---------------who was not a human, by the way.
homeless, if she was human, but there were several openings inthe woods where someone apparently does walk through very frequently, and this is puzzling to me because this place is empty.

MY FRIEND AND I VISITED THERE THURSDAY AND TOOK PHOTOS. IN ONE OF THE PICTURES BEHIND THE THEATER THE IS A MAN THAT WAS NOT THERE WHEN THE PICTURE WAS TAKEN. IN THE SAME PHOTO WE WERE ZOOMING IN ON THE WOODS AND SAW A WOMAN STANDING IN THE WOODS. OUR HEARTS DROPED WHEN WE SAW YOUR POSTING. WE ARE TRYING TO FIND A WAY TO POST THE PIC TO SEE IF IT IS THE SAME WOMAN YOU SAW. WE COULD ONLY SEE HER WHEN WE ZOOMED IN. VERY CREEPY!!!

I read that it was once an old negro cemetary, but they dug up the graves and relocated the bodies into the woods nearby, and brought the bridge into construction. before this there was a satanic church located there. and it was a demonic mess. Recently on the news teenagers desecrated the graves and were using a skull to smoke out of.

You write that there are paths where people walk through the woods all the time, yet you're shocked when you see someone, or someone takes a picture of someone walking through the woods? When you already know people walk because you've seen their paths? Really?

I lived in Houston for a short time, have friends and relatives there and have read virtually everything on this topic here at UM.
There are definitely supernatural activities going on there...as there are many other places. I will say this area does seem to be somewhat of a hotspot.
It is a prime area for "Legend Tripping" and other related activities. There is a good possibility that these people in black were there doing the exact same thing as the OP. Many people who do "Urban Exploration" wear black because they feel it conceals them better. In reality it only does that on the blackest of nights and it also makes you stand way out in a crowd whilst getting to or from the area in question. It is also a tipoff for the Police that you ain't there having stumbled off the beaten path.

ok here is the link for the evp.
Click Hereit is in wma format. the total time length for it is 3:34 but you will only need to listin up to 1:40 to hear what was not heard when a party of three went in. I will also say that i confirmed the noises with all three party members that were inside at the time as well as with all the other members that were outside. no one heard any of these noises. from what the person carrying the recorder told me, most of this was picked up in the lobby area near theater 2 and 3. There is one bang around the 0:50 mark that was audible. please ignore that one. here are the ones you should listin for.
1:11 to 1:12 - a bang, like hammer hitting wood. very audible but only heard on the recorder.
1:19 - 1:21 - 2 bangs, then the sound made would resemble droping a hammer on the ground. still sounds like hammer to wood, very audible but only heard on the recorder.
1:22 - 1:24 - it sounds like a wooden chair is slammed on the ground and then scooted forward on an older wooden floor. again, very audible, but only heard on the recorder.
1:31 - 1:32 - a tap almost, as if someone is hit some wood with a hammer softly. also audible, but only heard on the recorder.
1:33 - 1:35 - the freakin golden part, a voice is heard, and it curses. this was the whole reason i listined to this track in the first place. an awsome find i must say, but only audible ont he recorder.
that details the evp recording. this is one of our more detailed ones. i am still looking for pictures from inside the theater. i will post when i find them. enjoy!

acctually, im not believing it on blind faith, im an amatuar photographer myself and i know for fact that if i did not know what the topic of this picture was, then i would be saying the same thing. that there is a man in black standing quite a distance aways, simple as that. Since i do know the topic, i can tell you that at that angle it would be hard to even notice a man standing or walking for that matter in that area. also notice that the man is slightly blurred, hence he is probably walking or moving around a lot. also notice that he is holding something. now with those facts, and with my knowledge of the area, i would rate this as a 65% chance of this being a spiritual based encounter. so plz, dont walk into this demoting others work when you dont look at it in depth.

I am confused. You are basing a 65% chance that this is a "spiritual based encounter" on:
you would have noticed the man there when taking the photo (hmmm, not likely. The building is right there, he could have walked from beside the building)
the man is slightly blurred and moving around a lot (as real people do!)
he is holding something (I REALLY dont get this one)
Your knowledge of the area... being????
???
Honestly, I can't make heads or tails out of your reasoning.
Why is questioning your views or asking for support of your views demoting your work? I mean, if you are investigating, surely you are open to criticism and suggestions, no? Since we weren't there, enlighten us and give us a good reason why you have photographed a "ghost". I don't think any PI here will take your word on it based on weak reasoning. Sorry.

Its just my opinion that the area appears to be pretty much abandoned. There are no people around at all, and all the sudden there is a man, which posters are claiming to have haunted the area. The OP stated the man in black even before the photo was uploaded. Also I did notice the foggy type stuff on the bottom near the trees, which IMO is consistent with spiritual activity..JN

But Kidglock had some very good points about Urban exploration being common there, complete with people dressed in black clothing. I think that is reasonable. Also, the foggy appearance is more consistent with taking a photo through glass. IMO. I hope the photographer comes back and clears that one up.

That's just how it is around here. When someone asks for opinions, they really mean opinions which they agree with, and if you disagree and say so, you're a hater.
The area does not appear to be "pretty much abandoned". The poster stated that people go through the woods often enough to leave paths there, and that there is still a store and a restaurant open for business. Then we're offered a picture of a man as proof that no one was around?
Something is out of place. Maybe the OP had an encounter, maybe not, I wasn't there. I don't see the logical leap from seeing a solid, real-looking woman where you know people hang around, to interpretting this as a ghostly encounter, when all the evidence points somewhere else. I mean, I'd have probably just said good evening to her. If she vanished, or started to glow, or turned into a bat or something, then I'd have something to write about, but why does everything have to be paranormal anymore? You saw a person where you weren't expecting to see one and it startled you. Why can't it just be that? I mean, you were there, it's not unheard of for someone else to be. I run across other people deep in the woods sometimes. No stores around for miles, but people still go there sometimes.
If it seems like I'm picking on you, I really do sincerely apologize. I'm sarcastic sometimes, but I don't mean anything by it.

I stated it could be a human or a spirit, none of us really knows. I just feel that it is possible due to the stories that its of paranormal in nature..JMO....JN

why dont u ask OP, apparently i cant nor anyone else here can explain it to you.
Well, that seemed a bit uncalled for. Was only asking a question. Are you that sensitive to people not readily believing things without question?

no accutally, i was suggesting that cause the OP let a bunch of details out. not trying to be rude.

I'm interested in seeing the photograph of the woman in the woods.
I think from what the person who took the photo with the man in it was saying, was that when he took the photo he didn't see this man standing there. Daytime shot or not, it would spook me seeing a person in the photo I didn't see through the camera!!
I really would like to go out and check that place out. I don't live far from it. I really don't have anyone to go with tho...my husband thinks ghosts and ghost hunting, etc is pretty dumb, but I find it fascinating. And I sure do not want to go out there alone. Paranormal activity or not, it's just not safe, esp. for a chick to go out there alone and poke around in an abandoned area you know?
So, does anyone have the photo of the woman?

In a personal message, I recieved instructions about where the lady is isn the photo, but we need the photo enlarged. ----IF YOU LOOK IN THE AREA I CIRCLED IN THE ORGINAL PHOTO I UPLOADED YOU CAN SEE HER BECAUSE IT IS A LITTLE BIGGER. SHE IS A LITTLE TO THE LEFT OF WHERE THE CURB BREAKS UP. DID YOU NOTICE THE WHITE HAZE IN THE PHOTO. HER HEAD IS A LITTLE ABOVE THE HAZE. ----
