His name is Chilli and he's described as a gentle giant.

His owners have contacted the Guinness Book of Records who are currently assessing his credentials and comparing them to other big bovines.

The black and white Friesian bullock weighs well over a ton and at the same height as a small elephant, casts a shadow over his cattle companions who are about 5ft.

The heifer, who is almost as high as he is long, lives at the Ferne Animal Sanctuary in Chard, Somerset, after he was left on their doorstep aged just six-days-old.

Nine years on, Chilli has kept on growing, and staff believe the giant will smash a record for Britain's tallest ever cow.

He now stands at 6ft 6ins from the floor to the top of his shoulder and he is massive when he holds his head up.

They raise cattle and don't know that a male is called a "bull" and not a "cow"? tongue.gif

Quite the massive bull at it. I bet his seed will go for a huge price for the next round of genetic giants. laugh.gif

Not only that, but they also refer to him as a "heifer"? I thought a heifer was a young female. One that hadn't had a calf yet, maybe? Is the terminology different in the UK?

There are 3 other pics in the source site. The shadow looks ok to me? unsure.gif I'm sure the journalist who did the story would be canned from the major newspaper if he did 'touch up' the photos a bit.

I stopped short when I saw the picture, and thought this can't be real, until I read the story...I have to say, to me, a cow is a cow, but this one is beautiful..(for a cow)... original.gif

Look at her own shadow, the sun is up high in the sky for a short shadow rather then lower sun position for a longer shadow.

A New Bull In Town

The old rancher decided to hook up his trailer and get another bull for his herd of cows; the three bulls he has now are not enough. As the rancher drove off in the distance the three bulls realised what was going on and they all agreed that they will each give the new bull only one cow (with thier horns held high with pride).

When the old rancher arrived the three bulls looked in curiosity of thier new rival when a loud blast of a snarl from within the trailer sent a terrifying shock down the bulls' spine. Their eyes opened wide as they viewed the new bull rocking the trailer with every step it took. The rancher then lowered the ramp and out came a mamoth size bull, and with every step...it shook the ground; with every snarling breath...dust blew into huge plumes. It took twelve hired hands to control the beast, and with one look at the three bulls...thier legs quivered and buckled.

Of the three bulls, the bravest one said, "I believe that I might be able to hold my own ground and save three cows for myself, what about you guys!" The second bull with a hopeless gaze said, "I might be lucky to have one, if he lets me!" The third and the smallest of the three bulls started huffing and snarling really loud and with his hind legs, kicking up the dirt around him. The two bulls were looking on with a horrible fright for thier friend, "You're not actually going to take him on are you? It's suicide!!" they said. The third bull said with a squeel of a voice "HECK NO!!!! I JUST WANT TO LET HIM KNOW... I'M A BULL!!!!
