Roughly ten years ago I had been walking home from Stevenston in Scotland to my mothers home in Saltcoats. Both towns are seperated at one point by a golf course and a School. I had been walking along a path which leads along the back of the golf course and takes you to a bridge over a busy road. After crossing the bridge there is a path with street lights on both sides running the full length of the path. The path itself goes on for a few hundred yards.

I was walking with my mothers dog and I could hear what sounded like a plane flying very low over head, I looked up and saw a triangle shaped object with no flashing lights, just one bright light at each point. As it flew over the lights at each side of the path went out one after the other right up the path. I had first thought that this was some kind of military aircraft but could not explain the lights going out.

Ten years later I had forgotten all about this night until I opened the local newspaper to find a man I know had written to the newspaper saying he had seen lights in the sky acting strange. He gave the typical account of a UFO sighting. A few weeks later we had another saying he had seen the same.

This brought back the memories of that night and got me thinking about it again.

Has anyone else seen anything like this?

If this was some kind of UFO then why was it so loud when others claim that when they have seen objects in the sky that they are silent?

I know this was no plane that I have ever seen before and like I said there were no flashing lights.

Welcome to the forums. As far as your sighting, I can't offer much insight.

That is very similar to what I had been talking about, and what makes it more interesting is the fact that what I saw was around the same time as the Phoenix Lights sightings.

I pay attention to the sky at night mostly looking for shooting stars and things, I have seen some interesting things but that is the only time in my life where I thought 100% that I had seen something I could not explain.

I am one of those people who think everything can be explained in one way or another and to this day I have no clue as to what I saw that night, the footage in the video you sent was the closest I have ever seen to what I spotted that night.

What still has me confused is why did the street lights go out in the manner they did? As the aircraft passed over they all went out one at a time at the same speed as the aircraft and came back on after it had passed.

I have heard people say that when they have seen a "UFO" strange things happened with car engines and stereos etc, it could be a form of EMP?

As a species we are still way behind in terms of progress than we think we are. We have technology which we class as advanced and feel proud to have achieved such a level of "progress", but in the grand scheme of things we are mere cavemen still fumbling around with things we do not understand.

I find it laughable to think that we are the only creatures in the Universe who could be capable of travel through space. If there is other life out there then it would not be hard to imagine that some other being would have found a way to travel as far as earth.

If I saw something from another place in the Universe then I am proud to say I have seen something which very few have ever seen.

If however it was some kind of man made object then I dare say I would feel sad at the thought of never knowing if there was something else out there.

I will never live long enough to see a story on the news saying that they have confirmed that there is other life out there. If this is ever found I have no doubt that Governments around the world would go to great lengths to hide the fact.

Either way I know I saw something very very strange and although I will never know for sure, I am confident it was something I was not supposed to see.

After watching that footage it would seem that this is what I have seen. It matches exactly what was in the sky that night, and Scotland isn't far from Belgium either. I will upload a map showing where those sightings were and where mine was.

Thousands of people have seen what you have witnessed (triangles with the three points of light on the corners and sometimes a red light directly in the center). Whatever this object is, it moves very fast, is very large, and is nothing like what humanity has ever seen before. It also has visited earth on several dates and years. Are we alone, kinda hard for me to say no when so many saw the same thing, the Belgium government sent f16 like jets to chase it and even caught it on radar and it zoomed off. There were credible witnesses in Illinois (police) that has close encounters as it hovered over several counties and received many calls to the dispatchers all over about a large black triangle in the sky.

I believe we both will live log enough to see these things its comming soon I feel and like you I feel we cannot be the only life form in the universe and capable of travel.

I hope you are right, but as far as human space travel goes it seems we're going backwards. In the 60's there was huge interest in outer space and reaching other planets and now with better telescopes it seems that we have lost the will to travel into space. It is the "tv culture" where you can simply look at a screen rather than travel.

Nasa have pulled funding into space travel and the US Government have no real interest. There is a small European group who were trying to raise funds for a mission to Mars. I doubt it will happen though as these things are spoken of all the time but never happen.

I would love to know 100% that there was something else out there and in my opinion we must try to seek out other life. Despite what I have seen I still doubt my own memories and question what I saw, I know i'm not the only one. If there was proof that what I saw was real then I would be over the moon (no pun intended), but as time goes by the more I start to think whether or not I was simply caught up in the moment.

Deep within myself I know that there is only one thing that it could have been but to say it out loud sounds crazy. Even to type it makes me sound like one of those crazies with the tin foil hats.

This week in my local newspaper is yet another report of a sighting and it reports that there was another in a town called Kilmarnock which is roughly 15-20 miles away. The sightings reported in the last few months have been of strange lights in the sky which move so fast and so random that they cannot be man made objects.

I must clear one thing up though. There is an Airport not far from where I live, a good friend of mine who I have known all my life is a fireman there. He has told me that the US military use it from time to time to refuel on their way back home from the middle east. Despite this i'm sure he would notice a strange triangle object stopping in for fuel.

Another thing which had my attention a while back was that Russian jets have been followed by the RAF as they entered UK airspace. They said they had been on training missions. RAF jets escorted them out of our airspace a few times.

There seems to be a lot going on over the UK and Scotland in particular at the moment and only about half of it has been explained so far.
