My country is not riddled with crime more like crippled. This sh** happens every 5 minutes not on a daily basis. Barbarians shooting each other everywhere.

We hold one record that is for the highest crime rate in the world.

Well thank you for that positive insight into our country...

I think if you check all places have crime and yes ours is no different.

Therefore the point of your thread is??

This is my point. The reason I am leaving SA next year.

Crime is not the only reason. I graduated with great marks out of high school. I came from a poor family. If I was black I would be showered with bursaries etc. , but I am to white for this new SA.
I worked my ass off and next year I will be doing by Honneurs through Unisa and f*** offing out of this god forsaken place.

Did you know that the company TRACKER wanted to enter a car that had been stolen and recovered 11 times into the guinness book of records - for the most stolen car.

They were denied because no such catergory exists. Only in South Africa. The 2010 soccer world cup will be a killing field for the criminals.

This a beatiful developed country , but the crime is unbearable.

But your one if not the only country in the world, smart enough to use your coal to convert into gas while releasing none of the CO2 gases into the air. Hope these barbarians get taken care of ...

Ok point taken, I just want to have some hope in this country that it will come right eventually...

I have also not had the best experiences and have yet to even get to the stage where I have saved enough to go to university...
Currently I support my Mum and Aunt as they cannot find jobs. I only have matric and I had to also work hard to get it because we did not have teachers in matric to help us with Maths... so text books were the order of the day... (the ones that fall apart when you pic em up...)

And everyday I worry about being a single female in a car driving to work everyday (hijackings and the like) and true if I do get the chance I would probably also jump ship to another country where I preceived I would be safer. But until then I will never allow 'them*' to rule my life with fear and negativity.

*them being the barbarians...(thieves, criminals and such)

So good luck with your studies and I hope you find all you are seeking.

Yeah I was letting off a little steam. My family lives in Pretoria. It is a really uneasy feeling , because you never know when you will get THE CALL.

Good luck to you to. Hope you make it with the study etc.
