Alot of churches worry about having people come to them. Its kind of dumb because thats not what churches should be about. God would have them worry more about improving their spiritual life instead of worry about silly things like that
I agree whole heartily. I hate those signs, not because of them being church signs, but trying to get your attention, talking in what they think is your lingo, to pull you inside. And for what, to join something that is entirely different, and not as hip as their sign? It's almost like a bait and switch stint. It's baits you in with such a lingo tactic, but then tries to switch you into believing in their religion and attending their church, in which you don't believe in the first place. I think to get true church members, just have a simple invite, like I have seen most signs in the past, and still some honest ones today have done and still do. Wouldn't that get the best attentance in something that was upfront in the first place? If you have to try to get their attention to get them in, I really don't think you want them as part of your congregation in the first place, and I really don't think you want to get disappointed as they become disagreeable to what they always disbelieved in the first place. I find it underhanded, and dishonest.
If I go in and join any religious congregation, it's because the sign says 'welcome all, and services are at these times'. Yeah, it hasn't gotten me to join, but maybe it's because it would be agreeable for me, and more than likely I would end up being more aggreeable not going for them.

If you mean the 'come and get some' sign as being strange I agree. Usually those words are fighting words or at other times said with more sexual overtones. Maybe that is just my mind lol cause family say it often over the phone when they talk about making or having good food for lunch or dinner and then are like 'come and get some'. I am sure the feelings behind the sign are of the latter variety.
Yes, I'm reading the sexual overtones too, which I think they went too far. And then to say it's the latter, would more than likely get them a hostile audience, I'm thinking.
