A young family of 3 are missing in
Mississippi.. without a trace!

It looks like they have met a tragic and
horrific end, but still there is no
trace of them, much speculation, but no
real facts.

How the hell does a family vanish like
this?... no motive, no reason.. really
this is an unexplained mystery that is
at this very moment evolving.

Accually, this is kinda creepy. Though I am betting on murder/suicide... or possibly just flat out psycotic murder.

Quick note:

Since this is a local story which is
still evolving, and is just miles from
my home I will update it as often as I
can... this one is really getting to me
I know the area and the people of that
community, it is beyond strange, there
is no real reason for this from what I
have seen.

There was a murder years ago in the home
they lived in, but everything was found
as they left it, some blood and spent
shotgun shells, but as of right now no
one has any real answers.

Nothing is missing from the home, and
no sign of breaking in.

This is one of the strangest cases I
have ever seen.

I will update this story!

perhaps the door was left open or unlocked.... the neighbor state it was left open though... sometimes I wonder... we bar people from our borders because of visas even when there so desperate to get here... yet the people blessed enough to be born in this country will kill there own people.. there friends neighbors or family.. steal from strangers? needy people struggling or someone on the brink of suicide .. they will mock and harm mentally and physically and yet never give it a thought huh.gif

There are killers out there that have kidnapped entire families and killed them...
such a sad sad world we are in.

This is sad. I was wondering if any Psycics (without payment) have put in a word on this? Our prayers are with them.
stillcrazy
Not being a psycic, or having a crystal ball. My bet would be one of two things.
Whole family murdered for revenge of some sort. (I don't think drugs involved. dosn't fit profile of a drug hit) 2 woman and child dead, husband responsible.
It's a sad situation, but a lot more common than people believe.

Prayers for the family.
Gazz
Not much of an update here, but I said
I would update this story.

As of now nothing more is really known
about the case, The FBI is now involved
in this case, and there are far more
questions than answers still.

The only thing really new in the case
is that someone reported seeing a white
van around the time they think the family
went missing.

This is by far one of the strangest
cases I have ever seen and is really
an unexplained mystery!

Real Update in the Missing Family Case

Person in custody in missing family case

Mississippi couple, son vanished on Valentine’s Day

The Associated Press

TAYLORSVILLE, Miss. - Investigators moved on what appeared to be the first big break in the search for a missing couple and their young son Saturday as officers took someone into custody for questioning and searched a southern Mississippi veterinary clinic.
Highway Patrol and Smith County authorities closed off a county road on both sides of the Leaf River Veterinary Services.

The clinic was given as a residence address by Earnest Lee Hargon, an adopted cousin of the missing family, whose wife is a veterinarian, said police officials who spoke on condition that their names not be used.
There has been no trace of Michael and Rebecca Hargon and their 4-year-old son, James Patrick, since Valentine’s Day. Lawmen reported finding blood and spent bullet casings at the family’s home, but no signs of forced entry.
Police would not say where Earnest Lee Hargon was Saturday. Calls to the clinic were not answered and there is no listing for his residence. Calls placed to the cell phone of Hargon’s wife, Lisa Ainsworth, were not returned.

‘Dramatic, groundbreaking’ developments
However, Warren Strain, a state Highway Patrol spokesman, said a person was in custody for questioning.

“We’re very hopeful that the questioning and the search warrants will lead to a resolution about the whereabouts of the Hargon family,” Strain told AP Radio. “The latest developments have been dramatic, groundbreaking. We are very confident that the resolution of this tragic and awful situation is imminent.”
Strain said there were five woodframe structures in the area of the veterinary clinic and that crime laboratory teams were checking each building. Strain said officers were also searching the property, which includes woods.

Investigators have also been checking a piece of property owned by Earnest Lee Hargon’s brother, Michael, which he recently inherited from his uncle, Charles Hargon, to determine if it is linked to the disappearance, said sister Jennifer Hargon. Earnest Lee Hargon, Charles Hargon’s adopted son, was not included in the will, she said.
The Yazoo County Sheriff’s department is leading the task force, which includes the Mississippi Department of Public Safety and the FBI.

Rebecca Hargon’s aunt, Trudy Duncan of Poplar Bluff, Mo., said Saturday she had talked with family members in Mississippi about the search.

“I hope that they are OK. That’s all I want,” Duncan said. “All we want is to see the media with some beautiful faces on there.

Authorities have received about 400 tips, dozens related to a white van, Strain said. The van had been spotted in the area around the time they believe the family disappeared, investigators said.

A reward of $100,000 is being offered from information leading to the safe return of the Hargons.

Triple murder charge in missing family case as investigators find bodies of three victims

Tuesday, March 2, 2004 Posted: 0213 GMT (10:13 AM HKT)

YAZOO CITY, Mississippi (CNN) -- A couple hours after a man was charged with killing his cousin, the cousin's wife and their 4-year-old son, investigators found three bodies Monday.

"We've found two bodies and what appears to be the body of a child," Mississippi Department of Public Safety spokesman Warren Strain said.

Earnest Lee Hargon was charged with three counts of capital murder in Yazoo County Court and was ordered held without bond.

Michael Hargon, his wife, Rebecca, and the couple's son, James Patrick -- disappeared from their Yazoo County home February 14.

Before the hearing, Hargon was escorted by police from a car to the courthouse, where a handful of relatives of the slain family jeered.

"You bastard!" one family member shouted.

"You're not such a bad boy now, are you?" another taunted.

Hargon is now being held at an undisclosed location.

Dressed in an orange jumpsuit and handcuffed, Hargon answered several questions from Judge Pamela May before being led away. May appointed a public defender for Hargon at his request.

Authorities said they would seek the death penalty against Hargon because they believe he killed his cousin's family during a kidnapping or an attempted kidnapping.

"That's one of things that make it capital murder -- when it's in a commission of an underlying felony and kidnapping would be the underlying felony that supports capital murder in this case," said District Attorney James Powell.

He said the murder weapon has not yet been found and would not say if the family was shot to death.

Earlier Monday, authorities said Hargon accompanied investigators to an area in Covington County as they searched for the victims.

That area, which covers about an acre, lies not far from the Smith County border, where Hargon lives, investigators said.

Hargon was arrested over the weekend on unrelated drug and gun charges involving a small amount of methamphetamines and an illegally altered AR-15 rifle, Strain said.

Strain told reporters that Hargon became a suspect in the case the day after the family was reported missing.

"Obviously something went very, very wrong on the morning of the 14th at the Hargon home," he said.

Powell refused to speculate on a motive for the killings.

"I don't have to have a motive, all I have to do is prove that he killed them during the course of a kidnapping," Powell told reporters in a news conference after the hearing.

"We have a very strong case against him, and as far as motive, it doesn't matter," Strain said at the briefing. "Our case is rock solid."

Strain told CNN earlier that an inheritance dispute between Michael and Earnest "goes to motive."

An uncle died, leaving land to Michael Hargon and none to Earnest Lee Hargon, Strain had said.

Strain said the case has taken a toll on everyone involved.

"Personally, I have two children, and this is something that I've tried to insulate myself from getting too emotionally involved," he said. "But anytime you look at that family and realize the circumstances in which this heinous crime occurred you can't help but be emotionally moved by it."

As part of the probe, authorities went to Earnest Hargon's house near Taylorsville, Mississippi, which also is the location of a veterinary clinic owned by his wife, Lisa, Strain said. She is listed in the phone book as Lisa Ainsworth, a veterinarian.

"She is obviously distraught and is at an undisclosed location," said Taylorsville Mayor Ron Walker, who said Ainsworth is the veterinarian for his cattle herd.

The search for the Hargon family was focused Saturday and Sunday on a 160-acre site in Smith County, about 100 miles south of their home.

Michael Hargon's family was reported missing after a friend saw the door open at their home in Vaughan, Mississippi, about 35 miles north of Jackson. Investigators said there was blood at the scene but no sign of forced entry. Relatives said nothing appeared to be missing.

Michael Hargon is a construction worker, and his wife is a physical therapist, family members said.

Me too, me too, I wish we were all off base sad.gif

Strichar >> the idea of them wanting to start a new life and disappear is good, I never even thought of that!! thumbsup.gif

I can totally see a person doing that, maybe a couple if they were in a bind of some kind, but it sounds like this family really had so much going for them, I just didn't even think of that as a possibility due to the way their home was found with the door wide open, dried blood, bullet holes in the walls, etc....I automatically thought they were dead somewhere. I was thinking it would wind up being a case of murder-suicide, and it was just a matter of finding them. ph34r.gif

But I suppose if you really wanted to disappear, setting this type of scene as a stage would make the majority of the population automatically assume you were dead. crying.gif
