Ok, so this is something I thought I might share with you people...
Its abit of fun really, and I'm not sure if anyone can shed any light on it, but anyway..here goes.

Me and my friends went into someone's farm, being daring and adventurous. We exited some woods, and came across a barn with a roof, 4 pillars holding it up and 2 walls..
Inside there was a rusted mirror, and lots of old pictures on the walls (wedding photo's and pictures of cars) and other stuff.
My friend decided to take this picture of the creepy looking coconut voodoo head that was hanging from the ceiling in the barn.
We decided to leave it, as we were already on someone's land and we didn't know what this could have been.
The creepiest thing about the possibly carved head is that its smiling
Anyone know if this is known as something?
Or if its perhaps to keep people away?

I've noticed a sharp increase in trespassing lately. I wonder why?

What makes you suspect it's a tool of voodoo? People like to make smiley faces in things.

I guess I just thought...if theres some carved wooden object, hanging from a barn....and we were indeed trespassing..then it was some bad luck voodoo head..

I am sure if I ran into that thing in a barn it would be very spooky. When you are doing illicit things, you are on the look out for mystery and danger though. Who knows though - bit of a mystery, probably just carved out of boredom.

That is not a voodoo head or a voodoo mask. Look both of them up in goggle images. It is no African, Caribbean, or Louisianan which are the historical places of Voodoo. I forget the name but it looks more like a Polynesian head though not a Tiki. Well I might be wrong so do not quote me on it.

That is what I was thinking, someones keepsake from Florida vacation even. You all keep trespassing you are going to get hurt.

Well, I wouldn't usually trespass, however we came out of some woods and saw the place.
My friends foolishly went back yesterday and stupidly kicked the tin cabin (near the barn) door down, some gypsies came passed in a truck and punched one of my friends a few times...then my friends got arrested however were let off because the cabin/barn was not owned - therefore abandoned.

Believe me, I'm glad I wasn't with them. They aren't the sort to do something like that and I don't know what the hell they were thinking. I thought someone lived there..so if I was with them, I would have been furious!

No worries SpaceCadet and to me it does look like from some indigenous culture and I want to say I have seen similar. Maybe it was not through anthropological sources and was just from an episode of Gilligan's Island lol. Maybe though it is a wicked play on the theatrical comedy. Too bad they did not have a tragedy mask to go with it but surely I am off the mark here either way.

I lived In Maui for 20 years and it kinda looks like some of the polynesian surf kids with their hair bleached by the sun

You should have NEVER touched that voodoo head! Now you've done it, you've released the curse. You're going to burp and fart simultaneously, drool on yourself and stub your toe on something hard. Oh yeah, you'll also use a really creepy signature picture that will make people want to reach for a flame-thrower.

Thats the head of the last person who trespassed on their land. Theres an old voodoo ritual to Igbo that can turn your head into a coconut. I'd be careful if I were you.

Probably some kid who is a horrible artist but trying. And the dad had to hang it up somewhere and it wasn't going to be in the kitchen. They probably ate it by now so it's all good.
