Birth, marriage and death are occassion we all have different rituals.
The dead person is a primary guest at the funeral because the person who is dying is experiencing a variety of things, which a death ritual needs to address - the dissolution of personality, the loss of contact with the body, the loss of the family and friends, the fear, the wonder and the awe of this transformation.
According to the general belief the soul of the deceased person remained at home for three more days after the death. Canonically this can be explained with the fact that the Resurrection of Christ took place on the third day after his death.
Why we follow death rituals, why we are so particular.
For example
In many cases coins were placed on the victim to help him buy a place in the other world. They were either put on the eyes of the deceased into the coffin. In the Roman death ritual, the coin was placed in the mouth of the dead for Charon in the underworld, the coin is placed in head in hindu.

There has been much change even if some hold onto the old traditions. For the most we have forgotten what they were for. We used to help the dead's passage into the next life and now many people even if they do believe in the afterlife they do not find a need to help their passage. Part of this is on the rise of Christianity who from the earliest days did not send away the dead with any of their personal possession as was the custom for non-Christians. Even the ancient Romans who practiced both inhumation and cremation at times left a pipe leading into the space of the dead, remains or ash, or allowed the container where the ashes were at to have the opening above ground so libations could still be given to the dead. Another part is the rise of secularism and the break down of religious belief so people have no firm beliefs in that there is even an afterlife or it remains a mystery. In contrast today as well is that instead of helping the dead now funerals rites and burial are mainly for the sake of the living. We are more concerned with our grief, our honoring of the dearly departed, and of taking care of the funeral arrangements, presentation, and burial site.

Why everyone can't use electric crematorium. Body will be easily disposed and it is cheap... no much procudure.. we don't waste any wood to burn... we don't need 6feet space for each body...
Is that everyone in their deep mind beleived old concept of hell and heaven... someother old beleif..
Or if their body is burnt... they can't come back to their body again???
