A characteristic that controls the destruction and regenerations of cells giving the ability to control the age process that has been to known to exist only in few species. Such organisms can be effectively immortal. (unless murdered) Such genes have been also known to exist within humans, although inactive. Such tests proved this. An old man who's heart was starting to stop and which the cells started to decay was in a hospital. Since he was gonna die anyways, doctors did a little test and just did a couple of experiments. There was an accident and they poked the heart and then the heart completely regenerated itself as if it was newborn. When the Bible said that humans originally were immortal but death was a punishment for eating the fruit of knowledge, is this the case?

Like some kind of atavistic immortality gene? That's pretty interesting. Can you link the source of your info so I can research a little better?

Thanks!

Links to some sort of research on this gene would be helpful, I think. Corroborating notes about this man's heart would be helpful. All I found was THIS on the matter. Interesting, nonetheless...... An "immortality gene" might be interesting - it would put the Beauty Industry into chaos though. If no one aged, who'd need skin toners........

I actually learned and reseached it mainly from philosophy and biology classes at my university and from other forums. But here's a site:

I think it more points to our evolutionary history than anything else.
Sadly most immortal cells have the problem of being fatal for the organism. We usually call them tumours.

I'm not talking about immortal cells.

I never said immortal cells. Infinity reproducing cells are cancerous cells.

It still points to evolutionary history, not historical immortality.

But that's on a different matter. -_-

Nope, it is just a far more parsimonious explanation.
