Completed fallout 1, 2, tactics and that other one... Greatest games around... especially fallout 2.
Im worried that 3 might be a bit of a let down... when's It released?

What username do you use at NMA? I happen to frequent it and have been a long-time member.

I love Fallout, and really enjoyed Fallout 2 but didn't get the same feeling I got from Fallout. Fallout 2, I would say, is more complicated and offers more things to do and is a fun game, but Fallout has such a great story, that I replay it more than the sequel.

Fallout Tactics was a let-down for me. At first, I was just excited to play another Fallout game, but eventually I got tired of the repetitive nature of the game, which was just another long battle after long battle just to advance to the next part of the map. The story didn't save it for me, and Tactics-like games need to have a good story to keep it entertaining (Final Fantasy Tactics, anyone?). There were some other things I didn't like about the game, but I'll just leave it at that.

As for Fallout 3, well, it's definitely Bethesda's version, and not something that can be easily compared with the other Fallout games. I imagine it'll be a good game on its own, but I don't think it's going to do the franchise justice representing itself as a sequel.

I agree Roughneck, I don't think it will have the same feel or atmosphere as the first 2, and i dont know if the humor will be up to par, but i'm still looking forward to it thumbsup.gif

Roughneck, I'm not actually at the NMA original.gif And I agree w/ everything you said. I believe a lot of the hardcore Fallout fans share the same lament about the differences between 1 and 2. 3's graphics have changed a lot, plus there will be a version for the 360 so I imagine the playing experience will change a lot in that respect. Luckily my bf has one of them 360 thingies tongue.gif

The unfortunate thing is that you can never have another Fallout 1. Because it's been done. You have to do something fresh and new, but Fallout 1 was inforgettable.

I got into the game when I was in grade 6 and was obsessed, and played until the CD was implayable and prone to skips and bug-like screw-ups. I recently downloaded 2 which I like because you can keep playing after you beat it. Hopefully 3 will have that option.

Edit: I should add I love 1 so many more times then 2. 2 has too many lame pop culture references. Which I mean was okay because I understood all of them, but it still takes away from the original atmosphere.

Well most fans don't want a remake, they just want a sequel than can easily compare. Look at the differences between Van Buren and Bethesda's Fallout 3, and you'll see why some fans feel alienated.

The Vault 69 joke is an old, but good one.

"You're from Vault 69?"
"Yeah, you'd think it would be a good time but you'd be wrong."
