Working out is not easy at first, especially when you are so sore you can barely stand it!! Keep at it, all your hard work will pay off in the end. Oh, and the soreness does go away, it just seems like forever. LOL original.gif

when i get the chance i like doing weights at the gym.. ive always liked that kind of physical stuff.

you'll love it tho. it takes a little while, but you'll definitely see the changes in your body and how you feel. good on you for going for it, at the moment im far too lazy, which is not good at all.. my only exercise at the moment, other than rolling out of bed in the morning, is walking up and down our stairs in our house.. and the occasional walk down to the bank near my work

so its been a month since the saga began and let me tell ya.....im ripped! j/k. im in considerably better shape and im eating pretty decent stuff on a more consistent basis as well. there is the obvious improvements in tone and strength and iv got another month of personal training ahead of me. im still having a hard time gaining weight though...

Consistency is the key, take it day by day, try not to think too far ahead. You'll do fine. What are your goals exactly?

Im not skinny, but im not fat...im plump....I hate that pooch on the stomach GRAGGGH!!! *tears hair out* I am on a 2 large meal a day (not counting breakfast which is just toast) with only apples and water for snacks and training like a bloody dog! I STILL CAN'T GET MY STOMACH TO GO!

(But my legs are coming along nicely) which is infuriating because thats not the part of the body Im trying to fix! Does anyone know any exorcise which focus' on the stomach area? because Im at the end of my tether here.

EDIT: My healthy snacks don't let me starve though, because I don't believe in the 'Starve Yourself Skinny' diet.

^Running, plain and simple, there is no substitute. Run 3 times a week, do your abs 2 or more times a week, and maintain a 1,500 calorie or less a day diet, and you WILL get results, guaranteed.

I don't know, 1500 or less calories a day sound very small, depending on your size. Remember, if your body goes into starvation mode, you're never gonna get rid of the weight...

I really hope this is not one of your main reasons for joining a gym.

Excercise, ugh - what and awful filthy word....*go washes mouth out with soap*

No really, I hate excercise - it really feels like I am doing some kind of injustice to my body, it's really hurts, something good for your body is not supossed to be painfull, is it?

Good for you to have kept it up for for so long, I would have chickened out long time ago, even though I need to lose the few 100 pounds that just happened to appear one morning.... grin2.gif

Ima skinny little man too with an extraordinarily high metabolism to boot. I don't want to really go to the gym but my brother has a weight bench so I at least pretend to work out every know and again. My dream is to work out, get sexy, and then be a male model by day and street vigilante by night.

Everything you listed is a great source of protein, and will work well if eaten/ingested after the workout, but how many calories do you think your taking in a day? You must make an effort to log your caloric intake, as well as, your carbs, protein, sodium, etc. If your gonna gain weight, my suggestion would be to eat most of those calories and carbs just before bed, keep the weight lifting reps between 6-8 for the "power" exercises, and maintain a proper log for reference purposes.

How much to you weigh currently?

That's a very attainable goal, and it sounds like your on the right track. Now it's just a matter of being consistant and making it part of your daily routine. thumbsup.gif
