I'd rather curl up w/ the book on the couch.

It's not bad so far. I'm glad they didn't mess up when remakeing it.

Yeah, I couldn't take it seriously. I love the movie Evolution...which seemed to make fun of this kind of situation. So, I was waiting for some goofy thing to happen.

It seems so close to the original show that it was almost a scene for scene remake...I had assumed that they were going to make it different, update it a bit...
Plainbob13
Well. On the brightside. It was not worse then the original.

The book was pretty good, from what I remember...though I was a little tyke when I read it and inhaled all of Crichton's work back then (Sphere was his best, IMO).

Now I'm a cynical struggling artist with a lit degree, who gets his kicks from Kafka and Dostoevsky, so I might have a tad different reading.

I did DVR the The Andromeda Strain, though. It looked groovy. Have not gotten around to watching it yet.

I did think it was better, the cast was great, special effects were good, overall I liked it...I was just surprised it was so close to the original.

Kafka? Oy...one of those guys I am glad I read for the reference purposes and the concepts he put forth, but I never found it enjoyable...

Eh, Fluffy, be careful with the Kafka. He's my fave. I'm very defensive of the Kafka grin2.gif

I have great respect for your logic however, after reading many of your posts, so I'll keep my inner beast at bay. Just this once laugh.gif

I must watch this flick so I actually have some basis for speaking in this thread...

Show is good other than one more Californian lame dig not to drill in ocean.
