I took this picture last fall and posted it in my online art gallery - as I was looking at it today, I realized that the left-hand side of the image is rather....fuzzy or foggy almost. None of the other pictures I took that day have that problem, so it's not my camera. Do you think it's the quality of the light or something else *insert spooky noise here*

have a look!

p.s. it's a cool image either way, so look anyways wink2.gif

I think it may just be the light. cool if it was something more paranormal though. thumbsup.gif

probably, but it's a cool picture anyways. I took three dozen pictures in that area that day and that's the only one that came out that way. Maybe there was an odd reflection from a passing car.

Hey it could be a spirit!
But my answer would be to that: The sun light.
But it may not be?

Nice photo girl. It could be the wind at the moment, however there is one area, way behind the gravestone, and I have no clue what it is, but I dont know how to circle it..UGH..JN

click the picture once for large view, then right-click it and select "save" from the menu that pops up. Save it somewhere you can easily find it, like your desktop. Then right click the icon on your desktop and select "open with". From the list that pops up, find "paint" and click that. The image will then appear in paint. Circle the area you want me to look at in red - use the paintbrush tool. Then save the changes. Upload the picture here or save it to an image hosting site, like www.photobucket.com and post the link. I'll take a look at the original and see what I can tell you. original.gif

I see nothing in this picture too be honest . well not anything that would make me stop and think it may be paranormal anyway . seems like your ordinary sunny day picture too me. Its a very nice picture. I love the colours original.gif

Going by the direction of the light - frontal, about 45 degrees to the left - the degradation of image looks typical of lens flare. Pointing the camera just a few degrees to the right or downwards can be enough to eliminate it, which could explain why your other shots were OK.

A lens hood would have been helpful or simply shielding the lens with your hand blocking sunlight from falling onto its surface. An unrelated tip for this particular shot would have been to use the flash for a synchro-sunlight effect enabling good exposure on the tombstone.
Mordfabrik
I've seen that happen a lot in sunny pictures like that one but maybe not that blurry. Still, I think it's the sun.
LadyHay
Unfortunately, when you take photos in the direction of the sun, lots of weird things can happen. I do love the photo regardless, but yep, I have to agree - lens flare.

I love cemeteries, but have only heard of one in my area to have reported haunting activity in it.

You didn't see this..... laugh.gif

Certainly can be a lot of explanations for the light in the pic, but it's a beautiful pic, just gorgeous.
bankai26
Yea i don't see anything either. The problem is that for it to be enough to make people go wow.... then the next assumtion is its fake.... so i donno its always dificult with personal experiences or things of that nature.. just my opinion
Asphodel
I just wanted to say that the picture is very pretty. original.gif

I thought the inscription sounded familiar:

wow, that is very similar to the poem on this headstone. Jack must have been a big fan of Mark Twain. Cool ^__^
spirit2
Cool pic! It could be a friendly spirit trying to make contact or playing with you but to me,it looks like the light coming into the camera lens?
justinwysong
i saw what JN was talking about that mist like part the the only thing that make me wanted to know what is it
therion24
Wow your a good artist.... beautiful photograph....as for the fog, I'd say it is light reflection on the lens.

Warm summer sun, shine kindly here. Warm southern wind, blow softly here. Green sod above, lie light, lie light. Good night, dear Heart, Good night, good night. I will always love Mark Twain quotes. Great picture! thumbsup.gif

JN: Hon, I think I saw what you were looking at, and it's the river. There's a river that winds around the cemetery (which is why I want to be buried there - it's so peaceful!)
