I just have a question. I was talking to my sister and she brought up a question that surprised me. When we were kids playing in the front yard, she said that sometimes she'd look up and think that she saw a leg or a foot, back of a head or arm go around the corner of the house, but when she went to look, there was never anyone there. She asked me about this. I also had the same experience. I have also had it as an adult in the house I live in now. Is there a name for such phenomana?
Do other people experience this or are we just weird?

I tried to look it up for you, but couldnt locate any information. I have heard of some seeing body parts here and there, but I dont know the name of this phenomana? NO you are not weird, you two seem to see things we dont. Did you ever try and take a pic or do they move too fast? JN

Would that not fall under a partial manifestation? Have heard of spirit hands arms etc or partial human form being visible at times as well.

One of the oldest reports is the spectral hand writing on a wall in the bible.

See to me this is hard. I am not going to say you didn't see what you saw but i know you can't trust corner eye, perifrial(sp) vision type stuff.... what happens is the eyes are focused foreward and anything that comes into the side of the eye has to be translated into something you understand and not just movement. The brain will actually extrapolate what it thinks it is subconsiously, and when it does that it goes on stored experiences and images.... most of the time i end up seeing faces, figures, outlines of people....i just figured that these images are probably what comes to mind first or are just easier to picture as these images... for instance i replace bath tubs.....i can't tell you how many times i have walked around the corner and the old tub standing up looks like someone standing there in the corner of my eye.... i look and i'm like jeesh, how many times is this going to get me, but it always does it.... it just happens like that..... i don't stretch to far paranormal on anything.... unless i can rule out every possibility, which is rare, if not ever... there is always an explination for me....but i donno, best thing to do is go there and investigate for yourself. prove it once and for all mostly for you and to figure out what happened.

I have found that since I began reading the threads in this site, I am much more aware of my surroundings. At first glance or in my perifrial vision, I think I see many people/ghosts/spirits but when my mind has a nano-second to process it, I am looking at a weed eater, tree branches or many other sundry items.

Now, the experiences that I believe strongly are of a supernatural nature, I write about.

I find myself chuckling about items that resemble a ghost and realize just how much our brain tries to rationalize a mind 'picture' and you believe that you have found just what you are looking for - ie, the Supernatatural.

When upon closer examination - it's a stick.

I think nothing of those corner of the eye (things) anymore, I've learned if I don't see it looking straight at it, then it's not worthy of my time even mentioning.

LOL I agree. Whats strange is, I see dark things out of my peripheral vision in my bedroom, but not in other rooms. When I was in the hospital, the room was dark with a little light and I never saw one thing. That got me to thinking, WHY? JN

It reminds me of an old Asian horror film I seen once about a floating head that attacked, ha!

Floating body parts ! LOL! It's not like that. These parts seem attached to someone, but they are not there when you look. The strangest thing happened about 8 years ago. I had a foster daughter living with me and she was supposed to be in bed asleep. Sometimes she'd awake in the night and go to the bathroom but get turned around and head down the hall toward the kitchen. My bedroom is at the opposite end of the hall. I was coming out of the bathroom heading into my room, when i looked down the hall and i saw her hair and elbow go into the kitchen. She was almost white -blond. I headed down the hall calling her name saying, Bev, honey, that's the wrong way, the bath's this way". I went into the kitchen and she wasn't there (of course), I looked under the table and anywhere else someone could hide. No one. And bev was asleep in her bed right where she should have been. It was so real, that to this day, i can still see it in my mind.
I was telling this to another person and I also happened to mention that sometimes when i go to the grocery store or Walmart, item will fall off the shelf when i walk by. Not every time (I think they'd ban me ! LOL)
But it has happened enough for my husband to think there is something wrong with me. I tell him it's my Magnetic Personality !
The person I was talking to said i have a spirit following me. What does that mean ?

Oh and I have never thought of taking a picture of the corner ghost thing as it happens to fast and unpredictibly.
Any thoughts?

Maybe thats where the saying comes from "Quit while you're a head."

I would assume its one of two things. Either you have a spirit guide that is with you all the time, or you have the ability to see apparitions, which is a gift. I understand about not being able to act fast enough to get a picture, so maybe just accept it and obviously its harmless so not to worry..JN

Interesting to think about, well the items falling off shelves i can explain i've noticed it, if someone happens on the other side to bump the shelf on the other side or if something's hanging their and you walk past it a bit fast and a rush of high pressure > low pressure air flows past it then it could knock it off just so slightly too. Now if it were more than just one item then it could be much more interesting, i work at a grocery store and notice these things a lot of objects falling all the time. Like JN said you could have a spirit following you or in the case like a Guardian Spirit.

I kind of like the idea of a guardian spirit. I am not scared or worried about this happening, it has been this way as long as i can remember. I don't think I can see apparitions, as I have never seen anything more than what i wrote earlier. If any one seroiusly asked me if i believe in ghosts. i would probably say no but I would have them explain what they were really asking. If the "things falling off shelv es " happened less, I might think that it might be wind or someone on the other side. No one is ever hurt, so that's okay too.,
